FEEDBACK? How much do I have to beg to get some?
Note: As I get over the flu, and debate my major faux pas
yesterday (I hope I didn't squick anyone), I've decided to
leave the fic-only group behind and daringly put myself into
the fray. (Oh, what am I thinking, you guy make me look very
amateur..but what the heck!) In honor of all that, I write
this.
Running through the field of dark Correllian wheat, I smile.
Sparse shards of the silvery moonbane intermixed with the wheat
catch my eye as
the wind blows over the land. The contrast makes me laugh. The
moonbane bends easily in the wind, but in doing so, enriches
the soil so the wheat grows stronger.
Twin ponds of the deepest blue shimmer in the breeze. Some of
the water bleeds into the field of wheat. I run over to a pond
and dip my hand in.
I bring my cupped palm to my lips. The water is warm and
slightly salty.
It nourishes me, fills me with a presence that I never want to
be without.
I move on and reach the large tree at the edge of the field. I
run my hand over the crooked trunk, the badge of honor it wears
for surviving the harsh winter so long ago. I rest my head
against it, and it supports
me.
Large Scia flowers, pink and vibrant, grow beneath the tree. I
touch the
petals gently as they shiver in the wind. The beauty of them
warms my heart, and I wait to see them shudder again. As they
do, the warm wind blows around me, enfolding me, caressing me
gently. It whispers my name.
"Obi-Wan..."
---------------------------------------------
I shudder as the coughs wrack my body. My eyes water as they
open, trying to adjust to the bright light piercing them.
"He's back. Don't scare us like that again, my boy. We almost
lost you."
I stare at the white blob in front of me until it focuses into
the image
of Healer Attik. He smiles at me gently, then talks to a point
above my head. "He's out of danger now. You should get some
rest."
That warm breeze is again blowing around me. "I have no
intention of leaving my Padawan just yet. There are too many
complications that can occur with Trips Fever." Long arms wrap
around me and lean me into a broad chest, where I snuggle
comfortably.
Healer Attik looks us over and shrugs. "I know better than to
argue with
you, Master Jinn. Call me if you need anything." He turns and
walks out of the room.
My lover holds me tightly for a while in silence. Then his
voice rumbles
gently in my ear. "Obi-Wan, while you were unconscious, you
had such a peaceful smile on your face. I thought your time had
come to join the Force." He tries to get more out, but I can
hear the sob in his voice as
it breaks down.
I reach a hand up to touch those pink Scia petals. "Shh, my
love. Don't worry, I'm here."
I stare into the twin ponds of blue. "I was smiling because I
was dreaming of you."

THE END!
Sap, sap, and more sap?
Guess so. Can I have some feedback please!
