Qui-Gon and his padawan were eating their evening meal,
discussing the days' events. Qui-Gon had been asked by the
Council to oversee the tutoring of Kay'bee, the padawan of
Master Turrell.
"I don't think this is a good idea, Master" Obi-Wan
disapproved. "Kay'bee has strong feelings for you, and it will
make working with him awkward at best. Why doesn't the Council
assign someone else to his needs?"
"Master Turrell herself recommended me, Obi-Wan" Qui-Gon
reminded him. "We trained together ourselves long ago. She
trusts my judgement, which is more than I can say for my own
padawan."
Obi-Wan poked at his food. "No Master, you misunderstand. It's
Kay'bee I don't trust. You know the stunts he's pulled
in the past-"
"Precisely. The past. And you were both much younger
then. There is no point in dwelling on it."
The hidden resentment flared up. "I don't like him, all right?!
When he falsified reports in my name I was nearly tossed out of
the creche!"
"Obi-Wan" the flint blue eyes were stern. "You harbor much
unresolved inner conflict about Kay'bee. What else should I
know?"
The handsome Jedi looked away. "Nothing. Just a feeling,
nothing I can prove."
Qui-Gon observed him with some intensity. "Obi-Wan. When our
meal is finished, retreat to the garden of meditation, and self
quote the Indraa terse. You know the inflection."
Let the past be the past. "Difficult, Master" he
replied.
"You are capable. And I will tutor Kay'bee. Therefore
you must resolve this in your own mind."
Obi-Wan sat lotus style in the garden of meditation. Yet every
time he achieved some measure of disciplined calm, the thought
of Kay'bee sent his emotions roiling in a tailspin again.
Well, not Kay'bee, not for that reason.
His mind drifted back five years. Barely out of their teens,
they often studied and worked out together. Kay'bee had a
bright, active mind that complimented his keen features.
"Hey, Obi-Wan" Kay'bee joked. "How's Qui-Gon? He treating you
well?"
Obi-Wan looked at his friend. "You always ask me that. He's
fine, I'm fine. What's with you?"
Clear hazel eyes lit with warmth. He leaned forward slyly. "No,
I mean how is he? Or has he made a move at all?"
"Not that it's any of your buisiness, but why are you asking?"
Obi-Wan was annoyed.
The hazel eyes clouded to almost brown. "I...meant no offense.
It's just that everyone in the creche is talking rumors these
days."
Green eyes glared back. "And just what kind of rumors"
he sat on the training bench.
"You know. Typical stuff. Who's doin' what with who. I heard
Poovis is chasin' after her master. 'Course that would get them
both in hot water, if it's true."
Tell me about it Obi-Wan thought. "So you believe every
wild rumor?"
"No. But a lot of the padawans see you and Qui-Gon, wondering
if you two-"
"What! Are you crazy!! You know it's forbidden by the Code!"
Kay'bee pushed a white-blond shock out of his eyes. "I know.
Don't get so touchy. You mean you haven't at least
thought about doing it?"
"No!!" Obi-Wan spat. "And I don't wish to continue this
conversation, Kay'bee."
"Damn, Obi-Wan" Kay'bee sighed, pulling on his tunic. "If
Qui-Gon were my Master, I'd at least think about
sneaking in his bed! He is absolutely hot."
"Cool down, Kay'bee, I mean it! Is that all you ever think
about, anyway."
"Or you? Don't think I don't notice how you light up when he's
around. Hell of a way to be broken in, huh?" he laughed smugly.
Obi-Wan remembered hitting him after that. The fight escalated
to the point where other padawans separated them. They were
both severely reprimanded, given heavy tutoring and training
duty.
"Utililze your energies in more relevant and productive
pursuits" Yoda thundered at them both.
After that, Kay'bee went on a personal vendetta. Belittling
Obi-Wan in front of fellow padawans, falsifying study reports
in his name. His antics were discovered nearly too late.
Meanwhile a lot of bitterness and anger remained unresolved.
Kay'bee was sent to the rehabilitation center for six months to
be healed of his emotional disorder.
Strange how after all this time it still bothers me so much.
But why? In the ultimate end, no permanent damage occured. It
could all be attributed to youthful ignorance. But is that
all?
Obi-Wan frowned, deep in thought. I had best guard my
feelings with him around. I suspect his motivations have more
to do with my Master than with me, in any case. He is Jedi,
true. But where my Master is concerned, can I trust him?
"Obi-Wan?"
So focused on his meditation, Obi-Wan failed to sense the
presence behind him. It was Kay'bee. He turned and stood.
Bowed formally. "Greetings. Qui-Gon told me you might be here."
Obi-Wan looked him over. Older, filled out. More mature. And
quite handsome. The sharp features had gained strength and
eveness. But the bright hazel eyes were still the same,
contrasting well with the whitish blond hair.
"Greetings, Kay'bee. I understand my Master is to be your tutor
for a while."
His fellow padawan sighed. "Yes. My Master is off planet on
assignment. However, I have been well assigned. Who could ask
for more, being tutored by Qui-Gon himself!"
Obi-Wan felt an old stab of jealousy. He forced his voice to
eveness.
"I understand the situation is temporary. Many of the Masters
are off planet at the current time on missions."
Hazel eyes regarded him in silence a bit. "Obi-Wan" he began
uncomfortably. " I want you to know that I regret what happened
in the past. Despite what you may think I never intended to
truly hurt you."
Obi-Wan regarded him serenely. Oh? "It's in the past,
Kay'bee. Leave it there. We were children, and it means nothing
now."
Kay'bee smiled slightly, appearing relieved. "My thanks. By the
way Obi-Wan...you look great. Your eyes are even greener."
"Thanks. Now I've heard everything!"
"Nothing at all like that skinny kid who couldn't gain much
weight. You work out or something?"
Obi-Wan did laugh then. "Good living, good eating..."
Hazel eyes went dark, soft. "And a good Master..."
Obi-Wan stopped laughing. "Kay'bee...what was that about the
past again?"
The blond shook his head. "Nothing. Just an observation."
They both turned. A commanding presence entered the garden.
Qui-Gon approached them, wearing a simple sarong tunic and
pants. Hair neatly braided into a horsetail down his back. The
deep blue eyes shone approvingly.
"It would appear, Kay'bee, that you have found Obi-Wan. I trust
you gentlemen have conversed well?"
Both young men bowed.
"Indeed, Master. It would seem Kay'bee and myself have a common
goal."
"No doubt" Kay'bee agreed, fixing his eyes on Qui-Gon.
Obi-Wan looked at him sharply.
Qui-Gon smiled faintly. Tension. Something drives this, I
will find out what soon enough.
"Padawans. I will return later this evening, I have an
important meeting with the Council. Assigned duties begin
tomorrow, so consider this a free evening. Obi-Wan, could you
prepare one of your delectable meals for later?"
Qui-Gon reached in the corner for his cloak. "Until later,
then."
Pulling on his cloak and cowl, he glided out.
Kay'bee watched him leave. Obi-Wan glared at him.
"That common goal you mentioned. What does it involve?" he
demanded.
Kay'bee turned to him, eyes sparkling. "He is just as I
remembered. Strong. Force be praised for giving me this
opportunity."
Obi-Wans' eyes narrowed. "An opportunity best taken with care.
You are here to be tutored, nothing more" he left the garden.
Kay'bee stood alone with his thoughts. Wrong, Obi-Wan. I
have been denied too long, and the timing is right now.
Smiling at the thought, he exited the garden.
Later that evening Qui-Gon returned. He seemed particularly
keyed up about the Council session. It was the main topic at
dinner.
At least the main spoken topic. Obi-Wan couldn't help
but wonder at the undercurrent of something else. Kay'bee
seemed to initiate innocent conversation, but everything had a
double edge to it.
"They were particularly stubborn tonight" Qui-Gon stated. "Half
of the Council thinks we should intervene in the tribal
rivalries on Ibin, and some think we shouldn't. A small
percentage wants to form an 'educational' corps, comprised of
volunteers. That never works! It also speaks of ignorance of
other cultures and beliefs."
"Even for the Council, that seems like dated thinking" Obi-Wan
commented.
"No doubt. But did they listen to my arguements?"
Qui-Gon rubbed his eyes.
"Then they are being foolish, Master Jinn" Kay'bee replied.
"Historically, cultural arrogance is never a template for
advanced beings. No wonder the model fails with such
regularity."
Qui-Gon agreed, impressed. "Indeed, Kay'bee. Perhaps we need a
negotiator as well. One within the Council!"
"I have found" Obi-Wan interjected, "that oftentimes
they get caught up with intent as opposed to the consequences"
he looked at Kay'bee pointedly. "One does not balance the
other."
"Sometimes they are one in the same, I believe" Kay'bee
responded with equal sharpness.
"A lively debate, no doubt" Qui-Gon deflected the sparring.
Again with this. They are both as stubborn as Bork
bulls.
"Master Jinn" Kaybee smiled. "I look forward to the schedule.
The activities are similar to those I shared with my Master.
Her input, I take it?"
Qui-Gon nodded. "Indeed. Of course, there is always room for
flexibility."
Hazel eyes brightened. "I'm afraid I'm a little out of shape,
though. My training schedule lately has been tempered. Extra
duties while my Master was off planet are to blame, I'm
afraid."
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. "Well, there's the first adjustment,
then. I have an hour to spare tomorrow I suppose. Unless you'd
rather train with Obi-Wan."
Kay'bee glanced over at his fellow padawan. "Master Jinn, I
would prefer your supervision. Among all padawans, your name is
renowned for training exercises. No offense intended, Obi-Wan."
"Absolutely none taken" was the clipped response.
"Padawans" Qui-Gon looked at them both. "I would know the
meaning of this conflict."
Obi-Wan was caught off guard. "I don't know what you mean,
Master. What conflict?"
Qui-Gon looked at Kay'bee. "And you?"
The padawan gave him an innocent look. "I am pleased with my
situation here."
The blue eyes were ice. "Hear me, both of you. Kay'bee, you
will adhere to the schedule. Obi-Wan, your duties will remain
as they are. When necessary, you will cooperate with
each other. But should this...disagreement continue, I will
take steps and intervene. Is that clear?"
"There is no problem, Master" Obi-Wan insisted. "Kay'bee and I
merely have a difference of opinion."
Qui-Gon looked at them both. "See to it then, that it does not
interfere with your duties. Outside of that it is your own
affair."
Kay'bee nodded. His voice held barely contained excitement. "We
can resolve this among ourselves. I look forward to our
sessions together, Master Jinn!"
Damn, look at him. He's practically drooling! Obi-Wans'
eyes widened.
"And now on a pleasanter note" Qui-Gon continued. "I am
exhausted, and will retire early this evening. As usual Obi-Wan
the meal was delicious" he stood and stretched.
"Master, relax a few moments while I draw a bath" Obi-Wan
suggested. "You've had a stressful day."
Qui-Gon rubbed his eyes again. "True. Mental fatigue can be as
draining as physical."
"I will be in the study, meanwhile" Kay'bee said. "Rest well,
Master Jinn."
"My thanks, Kay'bee." Qui-Gon exited to the bedroom.
"Obi-Wan, can I be of help?" Kay'bee asked earnestly.
Obi-Wan stared at him a moment. He glanced towards the bedroom.
"If you could clear away the dishes, I'd appreciate it. I'm
going to draw my Masters' bath."
Hazel eyes lit. "Would you prefer that I do that? You seem a
bit tired yourself."
Obi-Wan moved to stand in front of him. "I know what you're
trying to do, Kay'bee. And I'm telling you right now to knock
it off-"
"I'm not doing anything" the blond retorted. "Not yet.
Besides, you made it clear long ago that you didn't have that
type of relationship. So what's your problem with me!"
Obi-Wan stood back, stunned. "What are you talking about?
You're the one who's acting like he doesn't know the
Code!"
Kay'bee looked toward the bedroom wistfully. "He isn't
my Master, Obi-Wan. A loophole, perhaps?"
Green eyes flashed. "One that you'll be looking through if you
aren't careful" Obi-Wan told him. "I'm going to draw the bath.
Clean up the dishes here, if you please" he turned and left.
Kay'bee picked up the plates. Will I have the opportunity to
make him mine?
Obi-Wan ran the water in the tub. This is madness. Isn't my
Master aware of Kay'bees' attraction?
He poured in scented oil soap. But in truth, why am I so
bothered by this? Whatever else I may think, Kay'bee is right.
We've discussed it, but the Code is like a wall. I know my
Master loves me, but whether he is in love with me is
another matter. I'll find someone else before I take pity!
"Aah. Perfect, Obi-Wan" a deep voice rumbled behind him. He
turned.
Qui-Gon stood in the entranceway wearing only a towel at the
waist. The long mane framed the regal features, tumbling over
the powerful chest. Thickly muscled thighs rounded out
underneath the tapered waist. Slightly bronzed skin contrasted
against white fabric.
Obi-Wan found himself staring.
"Padawan. Do you plan to join me?" Deep blue eyes teased.
Obi-Wan laughed, a jittery sound. Why the hell am I nervous?
I've seen his body before!
"I guess I did take a little too long?"
"I thought you had fallen in" he smiled, striding past his
padawan and sliding out of the towel. He stepped into the tub,
leaning into the steaming water.
"Just right, too. Not overly hot" closing his eyes, he leaned
back against the edge of the recessed tub. Sandy hair trailed
in the water over the broad back.
Obi-Wan felt hot tremors racing up his thighs. He stood slowly.
"Master, there are extra towels if you need them. Your sleep
shirt and pants are on the rack in the corner" he attempted to
control his breathing.
Qui-Gon turned absently. "My thanks, Obi-Wan. I have the
perfect padawan."
Bowing briefly, he exited. A padawan who needs ice
badly.
When Obi-Wan returned to the kitchen, Kay'bee had nearly
finished cleaning up.
"Everything okay, Obi-Wan? You seem a little...bothered"
Kay'bee smiled at his own joke. He looked down.
Puzzled, Obi-Wan looked as well. A prominent bulge underneath
his pants. "Damn!"
Kay'bee put a hand on his shoulder. "S'alright, Obi-Wan, I can
sympathize. With a Master like that...frustrating, isn't it?"
"I don't know what you mean" Obi-Wan snapped. "I was thinking
of-a friend of mine."
"We can't be friends either, as long as you pursue my Master."
"Why not!" now Kay'bee was exasperated. "You can't or won't
pursue the matter. Why shouldn't I??"
"I..." Obi-Wan was stumped for an answer. It was the one thing
he had never confronted himself.
"What do you expect me to do?" Kay'bee pressed,
frowning. "All right, I won't lie to you. I want him! If you
are unable to do anything because of the Code, that's
your problem. Why should we all suffer here!"
Obi-Wan stared in astonishment. "You talk this way and claim to
be Jedi? Apparently the tenets by which you live mean nothing
now!"
Kay'bee lowered his voice. "Oh? What tenet is that??" he
pointed at Obi-Wans' erection.
The handsome Jedis' face darkened. "Enough! You're an
opportunist, nothing more. If you truly had strong feelings for
my Master, you would have done something long before now."
Kay'bee sat down at the table. "Like what? A nineteen year old
who would walk out on his Master to secretly meet with another?
The timing is right now. And soon, once I'm a knight..."
"It won't happen if you continue on this way! You know that.
The Council will have your head!"
Kay'bees' eyes narrowed. "For someone who claims to be platonic
with his Master, you certainly are possessive."
Obi-Wan snorted. "Me! Possessive. Are you crazy?"
Kay'bee suddenly dawned with awareness. "You...you're in love
with him too! I wondered..."
Obi-Wan folded his arms. "That is none of your affair" he
looked away.
"Hit a nerve, did I? Interesting you should speak of the
Council. Are you concerned with what they might find out?"
Obi-Wan spun on him. "There's nothing for them to find
out, Kay'bee! And you aren't in love with my Master. It's an
infatuation, nothing more."
For the first time, Kay'bee was angry. "Where do you get off
telling me my feelings! It's the competition you can't stand!
That, and not knowing your status..." he had gone too far.
Obi-Wan cleared around the table. Kay'bee jumped to his feet.
They stared, nose to nose.
"You forget yourself" Obi-Wans' voice was ice. "I am the
padawan of Qui-Gon Jinn. You are not. This is our
home you reside in."
Kay'bee gave a crooked grin. "So. This is war, then?"
Obi-Wan returned the smile. "If you wish."
"May the best padawan win."
"He already has" was Obi-Wans' smug answer. He left a fuming
Kay'bee in the kitchen.
You're a liar, Obi-Wan. Something's going on between you
two. But it won't compare to what he could have with me.
Mind set on a course of action, he went towards the bath.
Prissy Jedi, my ass.
Qui-Gon deliberately took a long bath. The emotional
display in the kitchen rebounded in his mind.
He steepled his hands above the water, deep in thought. So,
I am the bone of contention. But why? Since Kay'bee has
arrived, he and Obi-Wan have butted heads. I had hoped they
would resolve this, but apparently I must intervene. Could this
be a case of Kay'bee seeking approval?
He shook his head. No. Something else. I suspect, but it is
not clear to me just yet what his motives are.
He sensed a presence behind him.
"Master Jinn? Forgive my intrusion" Kay'bee entered, not really
appearing all that repentant.
"Kay'bee! What do you here. Are you so poorly trained by
Turrell?!"
The young jedi gulped. "No, Master Jinn. I had a severe falling
out with Obi-Wan. We have a conflict of interest that cannot be
resolved."
"Then we will discuss it in the proper time and place. Not
here. I would get dressed now."
"Allow me to get your things" Kay'bee offered. "Again, my
apologies. My confrontation with Obi-Wan has me distraught. I
felt the need to speak of it immediately" he went for Qui-Gons'
sleep clothes and towel.
Patience. This will soon reveal itself. Qui-Gon watched
him.
Kay'bee approached the tub, holding out the towel. Qui-Gon
stepped up out of the water, reaching for it.
Kay'bee tried his best not to stare, not quite succeeding. He
glanced at the muscled body, a perfect blend of size and
porportion, glistening from water. The heavy cock swayed low.
Ghods! Someone pinch me, is this real. Why should Obi-Wan
have it all!
"Allow me, Master Jinn." brazenly, he turned the tall jedi
around, towelling him dry.
Qui-Gon stood quietly. "You are...bold, Kay'bee. And I suspect
quite a handful for Turrell."
"I was trained to be straightforward, Master Jinn. I know no
other way" he struggled to keep his hands from shaking. He
rolled the long tail of hair in the towel, buffing it dry then
shaking it loose.
Qui-Gon turned to him slowly. "Then I suspect you have
something to say to me now" the voice was deep velvet.
Kay'bee was not easily intimidated, but he was here. His legs
felt weak as he stared up at the handsome face.
"I...must speak my mind, Master Jinn. There is a reason Obi-Wan
and I have a conflict."
Qui-Gon moved forward a little. "Speak on. You have all but
argued since your arrival. Why?"
"We have a common interest" Kay'bee hesitated, then forged on.
"And no resolution appears viable."
Force, he is broadcasting like a beacon! "The source of
this conflict?"
Kay'bee took a deep breath. "You are. Obi-Wan suspects my
motives."
"What are your motives?" Qui-Gon looked at him with
lidded eyes.
"Only this-" Kay'bee reached up, kissing him softly.
/Forgive me Master Jinn, but words alone cannot convey what I
feel./
//Kay'bee, enough. I appreciate your honesty, but...//
Qui-Gon pulled away slowly. "Listen to me. You are here for
tutoring. In good conscience I cannot-"
Kay'bee wouldn't release him. "Don't you find me appealing?"
I do. Too much so. "You are most attractive. But I must
speak the truth now. I can not and will not start a
relationship with you."
"Why? The Code? Or is it Obi-Wan!" hazel eyes demanded an
answer.
Qui-Gon considered. "Both. But you know I don't love you. And I
won't use you either. You would lose all respect for me, and I
would have no credibility with Obi-Wan."
Kay'bee considered, fine features frowning in thought. "I don't
expect you to love me, Master Jinn. At least not yet.
But there are always alternatives, no? Would you love Obi-Wan
on empty promises and unfulfilled dreams? Who can live like
that. I would get to know you better. Once that happens, who's
to say where and when affection turns to love?"
"I won't discuss Obi-Wan with you, he's not your concern. You
presume too much in that area. As for the rest...what you say
is true. But I am not considering acting on your desires."
Hazel eyes lowered under black lashes. "Because you don't want
to, or because you are afraid to?"
Qui-Gon tipped his chin. "I too am straightforward. Do I find
you attractive? Yes. Will I act on it? No. Under different
circumstances, perhaps this discussion would be proper."
"You mean if Obi-Wan weren't in the picture."
Blue eyes flashed. "Yes."
"Knowing that you want me is a start. And I wish to give you
something to think on, something to make you doubt your
decision" he kissed him again. Deep.
Without realizing it, Qui-Gon wrapped his arms around the
younger Jedi. Tongues dancing in concert, slipping together in
warm heat...
"Excuse me!!!" a strident voice shouted. They started.
Obi-Wan stood glaring in the doorway, arms folded.
"Obi-Wan" Qui-Gon blanched. He released Kay'bee.
"My apologies, Master" he hissed. "I merely thought you
required assistance since you were in here so long. But I see
you have all the help you need!" he turned on his heel and
stormed out.
Qui-Gon moved to go after him. "Wait-"
Kay'bee interrupted. "Let him go, Master Jinn. He will calm
down once he realizes that-"
Qui-Gon spun on him. "Leave me. Now!"
Surprised at the outburst, Kay'bee stood back, subdued. "As you
wish." he left.
Qui-Gon covered his eyes. Forgive me, Obi-Wan. Please.
In light of what happened the prior evening, Qui-Gon requested
one of the knights assist Kay'bee in his physical training
regimen. Obi-Wan spoke little to him after the incident.
Strangely enough, the tension between the two padawans seemed
lessened. Qui-Gon didn't understand it. In fact, they were
downright civil.
"I'm surprised you're even speaking to me" Kay'bee said over
breakfast.
Obi-Wan shrugged. "Why shouldn't I? We're all adults here. You
want my Master, that much is clear. You pursued him, and now
you hold his interest. Why should I have a problem with that?"
the voice was laced with sarcasm.
"I didn't...I wasn't trying to hurt you, Obi-Wan."
Obi-Wan snorted. "Well, force save anybody who gets in the way
of your goals. What do you want from me on this, anyway?"
Kay'bee stared at his plate. "Only that you understand my
motives were driven by love. Love of Qui-Gon."
Emerald eyes glared. "Love stolen, maybe. Not lasting!"
Amber eyes fired back. "We'll see. What about you?"
"What about me?!"
Kay'bee looked at him intently. "I suppose you've never been
driven to extremes or desperation by the way you feel."
"We are Jedi, trained to deal with complex situations."
Kay'bee rolled his eyes. "I'm speaking to the man, not
the Jedi."
"You want to hear it? Fine! Were it my choice, you'd be out of
here now. Yes, I have feelings for my Master. Satisfied?"
"I question your motives now" Kay'bee shot. "You've said
everything but the truth here. Why can't you just admit it!"
"I'm warning you, Kay'bee. Cease your attempts to seduce my
Master. Qui-Gon is not for you!!" he exploded.
"ENOUGH!!!" an imperious voice thundered. Both young men cowed,
startled. Qui-Gon strode into the kitchen, brooking no
arguement.
"I should crack both your skulls together and see if they agree
on a noise!!"
Both padawans stood and bowed.
"My apologies, Master Jinn. A gross lack of control on my
part."
"My apologies as well, Master. It will not happen again."
"Sit, both of you. Too much has been said and not enough."
They reseated themselves.
"Now I will speak. Kay'bee, you are here to be tutored
while outside matters occupy your Master. Obi-Wan, you are to
continue and maintain your duties as my padawan. Any
questions?"
"What about...activities?" Kay'bee wanted to know.
"So that there is no mistaking MY motives, Zeel will assist you
in your training regimen. Twice a day for three days."
Obi-Wan seemed faintly pleased. Kay'bee was not.
"Zeel is a maniac since he became a knight, Master Jinn! He'll
wear me out."
"Good. When Zeel is done with you, I will tutor you in mental
control!"
Obi-Wan laughed. Qui-Gon looked at him sternly.
"Obi-Wan. For the next three days, you will assist Master Windu
in his agricultural reports. Each report must be dated,
archived, and filed."
"Master, I'll die of boredom" Obi-Wan complained. "Can't you
assign-"
"Argue with Windu. You are his for three days."
The tension was broken, both young men preoccupied with their
new duties.
"Ah, silence. Good. Padawans, I attend to my own schedule" he
stood and left them sulking.
"This is all your fault, Obi-Wan."
"Oh? Who's trying to jump whose bones!"
They glared in silence.
Kay'bee staggered back after a particularly gruelling workout.
Glad it's the last day. Any more of this will kill me.
He collapsed on the cushioned sofa in the study, too exhausted
to make it to his room.
But not too exhausted to dream...
"Kay'bee. Kay'bee, can you hear me?" deep voice. Blearily, the
young Jedi opened his eyes...
...and saw Qui-Gon standing over him, wearing a robe. The
corner window displayed a rich sunset. Had he slept the whole
evening away?
"We need to talk."
Kay'bee sat up, enthralled. "But...where's Obi-Wan?"
"He has not yet returned from his duties with Windu. Come." he
extended a hand.
Wordlessly, the young man stood, heart wild with hope.
Qui-Gon led him into the living room, motioning for him to sit
at the table. They sat facing each other.
"I apologize for seeming so harsh with you earlier, but it was
necessary."
Kay'bee stared at his hands. "I admit to being overzealous.
Never did I intend any disrespect."
Qui-Gon smiled softly. "The heart cannot be regulated so. But
you must understand my situation. Obi-Wan is my primary
concern, being my padawan..."
Hazel eyes looked up, hot. "Only your padawan, Master
Jinn? Or do I have a chance here?"
"You cannot...listen to me. If I were free to do so, well would
I consider your offer. But you misunderstand me. I repeat, I
will not use you. Nor will I hurt Obi-Wan. Surely you must
understand the situation you are attempting to put me in!"
"Master Jinn" Kay'bee said softly. "Give it a chance. There is
no need to rush anything" he stood, walking slowly around the
table. Touched the short beard, stroking it gently.
"I love you" he breathed. "In time, perhaps, you will feel the
same. Obi-Wan is not your only option" he leaned down, touching
full lips with his own.
//Madness. Away, Kay'bee!// Qui-Gon gripped his arms,
attempting to push him away.
/No, I cannot./ Kay'bee deepened the kiss, wrapping his arms
around.
Rising, Qui-Gon returned the embrace. //Fool. This can go
nowhere.//
/We are all fools for love, Master Jinn/ Kay'bee tugged the
taller Jedi up.
Standing, Qui-Gon broke free, breathing heavily. Dark blue eyes
stormy in doubt.
"You are...enchanting, Kay'bee, but I am adamant here."
Kay'bee likewise was breathing rapidly. "I know you desire me.
Let it be a beginning, Master Jinn, so we can write the
finish!"
Kay'bee slid long hands underneath the robe, massaging the
strong chest. Qui-Gon gasped as Kay'bee planted smooth lips on
his neck.
"You are so beautiful, strong. I've loved you a long time."
Deep blue eyes lit with lust. Growling low in his throat,
Qui-Gon grabbed Kay'bee, dragging him towards the bedroom.
//Come, we will make this time count.//
/Yes!/
Clothing torn away, they collapsed on the bed. Qui-Gon planted
kisses on his eyes and neck, strong hands sliding everywhere...
"So beautiful, Kay'bee. Why couldn't I admit it?" the deep
voice murmured in his ear.
"It doesn't matter, we're together now" the young man gasped,
in heaven. The warmth of the big body covered him like a
blanket. He wrapped his arms tightly around Qui-Gon.
"Beloved, we will find a way, I promise you."
"I don't think so" harsh voice.
Kay'bee jolted, eyes snapping open. His arms were around
Obi-Wans' neck. Emerald eyes glared down.
"I...uh. What?" he sat up quickly, looking around.
Obi-Wan sat back. "I heard you talking in your sleep and came
to wake you up. Fantasy over, Kay'bee."
Kay'bee looked at him evenly. "For now. But you don't know all
of it, do you?"
"All of what?"
"Qui-Gon wants me. Even you can't deny that."
"Ha. You fascinate him. Maybe on some level he finds you
desirable, but so what? I don't expect him to wear blinders. I
see people I'm attracted to all the time. Doesn't mean I really
want them. Besides, Qui-Gon doesn't answer to me."
"You're that liberal?"
"You don't get it, or you don't want to" Obi-Wan snapped. "I
can like the way someone looks without wanting to go to bed
with them. Some people aren't sexy at all. They just look
nice."
Kay'bees' eyes narrowed. "Is that directed at me? Or are you
jealous. Please, tell me the truth for once."
Obi-Wan held out a hand. "Truce. Let's stop this go-around,
okay? I'm not so much jealous of you as I am the way my
Master seems to be confused with your attentions. He has a
generous heart. Do you think he'd turn you down outright?"
Kay'bee held his head up. "The two of us discussed that. I'm
not expecting everything at once, Obi-Wan. But I know that he
could fall in love with me. And that is the real truth
we both know."
Obi-Wan looked away, uncomfortable. It was something he hadn't
wanted to consider.
"I love him, Kay'bee" he finally admitted, in a low voice.
"I know. But what to do? We can't both...or can we?"
Obi-Wan looked at him, startled. "You aren't suggesting-"
Kay'bee looked at him expectantly. "Discretion would be..."
An insane image raced through his mind, the three of them, back
and forth...
Kay'bee rubbed his forehead. "Maybe you're right. It does sound
like lunacy, especially for Jedi. We'd be kicked out on our
butts for sure."
Inexplicably, Obi-Wan laughed.
Stunned, Kay'bee stared at him. "What's so damned funny. We
both want Qui-Gon."
"Kay'bee. Can you imagine us going before the Council,
explaining a threesome? They'd blow their livers out."
The absurdity of it was too hilarious to resist. Despite
himself, Kay'bee chuckled.
"Yeah. That would go over big with the ass tight
Council" he sobered. "What are we to do?"
Obi-Wan was distant. "Ultimately, it is up to my Master. The
heart is...difficult to predict."
"True" amber eyes were somber. "Hopefully he will make the
right decision...for him."
Obi-Wan was fed up. He's got to go.
The following day was slotted for mental exercises. Qui-Gon
faced off Kay'bee in a 'room of silence.' It was a term meaning
only mental energy was to be utilized. No physical movement was
allowed.
They both sat in a lotus position in the circular room used for
such endeavors.
//Very good, Kay'bee. Your katras appear intact.//
/Turrell hammered them into me, Master Jinn./
//I am impressed with her handiwork. Despite your directness,
you have remarkable control.//
A pause. /On a personal level, Master Jinn. Have you
reconsidered my offer?/
//Kaybee, you have control but not discipline. A poor
combination which could prevent your knighthood, or at least
delay it.//
/I didn't want to make this a personal arena, Master Jinn. It's
just that I can't stand not knowing./
A sigh. //This is the last I will say on the subject. Had I no
padawan, you would be my choice. But Obi-Wan comes first.
Always. More importantly, you know the Code. If we abandon the
tenets by which we live, what point in being Jedi?//
/But what are your feelings? I'm still not clear./
//As I've said, I find you attractive. Mentally as well as
physically. You are a fine young man. And I do like you. But I
have nothing else to offer at this time.//
The blond head tilted up then, amber eyes bright with emotion.
/Then I must declare myself. I love you!/
Blue eyes sparked in stunned surprise. //What!?//
The eyes were moist, now. But the lips were still silent. /I
said I love you./
Qui-Gon closed his eyes. //Force. You seek to confound me,
Kay'bee!//
/I felt you needed to know./
"Mlrakkis" Qui-Gon said, holding out his hand. "The mental
exercises are over, today."
Kay'bee stood, bowing briefly. "Thank you for listening to my
indiscretion."
Qui-Gon approached him. "Stand forward, Kay'bee."
Heart pounding with anticipation, he stepped forward. Qui-Gon
touched his cheek briefly.
"Would that I could give you what you desire, but it is not to
be. Can you accept this?"
"I..." he fought back tears. "Will attempt to do so. But I
don't have to like it" his voice choked.
Qui-Gon gathered his face in close, kissed the lips softly.
"You deserve happiness. Never lose sight of that, regardless of
everything else."
Kay'bee hugged him. "I know. This stinks."
Qui-Gon squeezed his arms. "Come. Let's eat now."
Later that evening, they each retreated to their own rooms.
Alone with his thoughts, Kay'bee pondered events of the past
few days.
With no one to see, tears flowed freely. Damn this all.
Qui-Gon should've been mine. And Obi-Wan is so smug. But I'm
not done yet. He thinks he's won? We'll see...
He drifted off, an idea in motion.
The next day he ran a planned errand.
There's still more truth to be found. I know there's
something going on between them, but how to prove it? I need
something concrete.
Getting off the downtown tram, he noticed an imagery store at
the end of the block. He smiled widely.
Well, well. What have we here?
Bouncing with enthusiasm, he went inside.
"Strange. Where's Kay'bee?" Obi-Wan wanted to know.
"I have no idea" Qui-Gon said between mouthfuls of food. "He
left a mysterious message stating that he had an errand to
run."
Obi-Wan sighed. "Well, at least I don't have to argue or have
any deep discussions for a change. My brain is beginning to
burn out."
They ate in silence for a bit.
Qui-Gon regarded him with a penetrating stare. "Obi-Wan.
Something between us must be settled."
Green eyes looked away. "I'm not certain what you mean, Master.
Besides, shouldn't you be talking with Kay'bee?"
"I already have" he said to Obi-Wans' stunned expression. "This
is our time. I wish to make it right again between us."
"I...don't like being at odds either, Master. But Kay'bee had
indicated to me that you found him appealing. If so, I can-"
Qui-Gon grabbed busy hands over the table. "Stop! I'll hear no
more of this. He is attractive, but that alone is not enough.
You are my padawan, Obi-Wan. No one else."
Obi-Wan felt a small thrill at the posessiveness. But he needed
to be certain. "You would not consider a relationship with
him?"
Deep blue eyes were liquid. "I would, were it not for you. My
heart cannot be traded between handsome faces."
Obi-Wan felt his face grow hot. "Master-" he breathed.
The full mouth smiled under fine cheekbones. "I wish to discuss
us. Recent events have convinced me that I must tell you
how I feel."
They continued to hold hands over the table. Obi-Wan couldn't
breathe.
"Kay'bee declared himself and now I must do the same. I love
thee, Obi-Wan. With all my heart and soul. I desire no one
else. The Code has been an excuse for me."
Obi-Wan found his voice. "But, it is a legitimate concern! We
are Jedi, and cannot just do whatever we feel!"
Qui-Gon squeezed his hands. "No doubt you've heard tales about
my passions. Most of them are true. My emotions were my own
worst enemy in the past, and I've attempted to learn from my
mistakes. But never doubt my love for you, though I may seem
cool at times. It is a necessity for a Master to separate
passion from reason."
Emerald eyes glowed. "And can you find a balance without
danger?"
Qui-Gon kissed the fine hands. His eyes never left his padawan.
"Many nights I considered forgetting being Jedi, forgetting
being your Master. I wanted nothing more than to come to you as
a lover."
Obi-Wan felt his heart pound wildly. "I wanted...the same" he
managed, speech thick. "Love you..." he stood up.
Qui-Gon stood also, moving around the table. "Damn the Code" he
murmured, sweeping Obi-Wan into his arms.
They kissed and kissed, sucking tongue lustfully. Hands
clutching and grabbing muscled thighs and buttocks. Obi-Wan
snatched Qui-Gon down on the floor, pulling loose the horsetail
braid.
They tumbled down on the cool tile, mindless of the hard floor.
Obi-Wan pulled his lips free, a loud smack. "Let's make love!"
he gasped, sweating with heat.
"Yesss" lidded eyes closed as Qui-Gon lunged into another hot
kiss. The long mane tumbled over both of them. Rolling to their
sides, they tore off tunics and pants. Hands roamed along soft
curves and hard muscles.
Obi-Wan went down on Qui-Gon, squeezing heavy balls and
suckling them. Licking the shaft of the thick cock, nipping the
tip with his teeth.
"Gahgh! Ghods, yes, Obi-Wan!!" Qui-Gon arched back, thighs
twitching. He tugged the padawan braid, pulling the spiky head
down on the shaft.
Obi-Wan deep throated, watching his lover with partially closed
eyes. The thick cock bulged inside the fine jaw. Moaning,
Qui-Gon threw his legs up, hair splayed across the floor,
across his chest, everywhere.
Obi-Wan kissed the hot thighs, tickling thick hair in the groin
area with tongue. Reaching up, he pressed fingers against the
bearded lips, forcing them inside. Qui-Gon sucked on the
fingers erotically, mimicking Obi-Wans' deep throating. They
watched each other like that until Obi-Wan withdrew his wet
fingers. Sliding them along the muscled chest, he plunged them
inside the tight opening.
Twisting and pumping the slicked fingers inside Qui-Gon,
Obi-Wan stroked himself underneath, arching off the floor.
Qui-Gon heaved in pleasure, groaning loudly. Both glistened
with sweat, bodies aching for completion.
Obi-Wan pulled his mouth off the swollen cock. "Want to feel
you...inside!" he gasped, face hot.
Qui-Gon grimaced in delight. "Get on me!!"
Kay'bee returned, satisfied with his purchase. How to catch
them, though? They hide their secret so well.
Puzzled, he entered the living room. "Where is everybody? I
don't-"
Noises. Loud, passionate. Names being shouted.
"I don't believe this" Kay'bee whispered under his breath. "Are
they?"
Quietly he crept down the hallway, seeking the source of the
racket. He peeped in the kitchen.
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, bouncing and humping on the floor with
gusto. Oblivous to everything.
Kay'bee felt a stab of anger, smiling bitterly. So, they
just waited for me to leave so they could bang like bunnies.
Well I've got a surprise for them both. Carefully he
reached into his tunic pocket, pulling out an imaging disc. He
pointed it, activating 'picture' mode. The indicator light
flashed silently with each exposure.
Nothing like some going away pictures...
They rocked together, screaming in delight.
"Come on! Move! Yesss!!" Qui-Gons' thick thighs pushed up as
Obi-Wan rode him. He slapped the fine, lush ass, pumping it as
Obi-Wan bounced up and down.
He arched, head thrown back. "Aaaghk! Hurts so good!!"
straddling the big body wide, his hips ground down, squashing
wet balls.
Qui-Gon felt the hot channel tighten on his swelling cock.
Obi-Wan reached forward, pulling the aching nipples.
"AAUUGH!!"
Crying out, he fired up into his lover, fingers clawing down
the slicked back.
Obi-Wan immediately bucked and broke above him, body jerking as
he shot a thick stream across Qui-Gons' chest. Grabbing the
puffy cock, Qui-Gon milked it further over himself, eyes
burning on his lover.
Obi-Wan sighed dreamily, eyes unfocused. Watching Qui-Gon milk
him made him spurt more. "Ohhh..." he slid down into waiting
arms.
Muscled arms that crushed him close. A soft nuzzle.
"Love you" Obi-Wan whispered, glowing.
Qui-Gons' expression was soft. "Love you too, my Obi" pecking
kisses on the handsome face.
Sighing again, eyes closed contentedly, Obi-Wan combed his
fingers through his lovers' mass of hair, pulling it around
both of them.
Qui-Gon closed his eyes also. "Hmm" he rumbled, smiling. "Let's
get off this floor, Obi. I would make love to you again and
taste you all over."
Obi-Wan rubbed their noses together. Hot eyes gazed down
through long red lashes.
"Let's go to bed."
Slowly they climbed to their feet, wet kissing. Obi-Wan leaned
into Qui-Gon, their muscled bodies gleaming and slick. Qui-Gon
pulled Obi-Wan against himself, squeezing the juicy buttocks,
pressing long fingers into the crevice.
Spreading his legs a little, Obi-Wan ground his hips into his
lover, faster and faster.
"Qui-Gon!!" he shouted.
The taller man broke off suddenly, grabbing his love and
dragging him out of the kitchen.
"Come" he said roughly, eyes dark with desire. Erections
bobbing, they all but ran into the bedroom, slamming the door
shut.
Kay'bee leaned against the wall outside the kitchen, breathing
heavily. Watching the two made him hard as a rock. He grabbed
his groin.
Sith, they are hot. I'm tempted to reconsider a
threesome.
Staggering down the hall, he went to relieve himself. At
least I have what I came for.
The next few days passed uneventfully. Kay'bee went about his
training in a controlled and disciplined manner.
Too controlled, as far as Obi-Wan was concerned.
He was in the study, going over notations on his reports for
Windu. Kay'bee entered, smiling.
"Mind if I join you, Obi-Wan?"
He looked up. Why does he smile at me all the time now?
"No, I don't mind. Just trying to get these reports in some
semblence of order."
"A pain, I know." another smile.
Obi-Wan looked at him. "What's got you so happy? You aren't
even arguing with me all the time anymore."
Kay'bee shrugged. "Got tired of it. What's the point? "
"I'm amazed at this turnaround. What happened?"
Kay'bee made a face, looking up."Let's just say...I've gotten a
fresh 'view' of things. And not a bad view it was!"
Obi-Wan put down his stylus, incredulous. "Okay, what's going
on. The truth, now."
Amber eyes gazed into emerald ones. "A lovely view, indeed."
"What??"
Kay'bee tapped his fingers on the desk. "Oh, just that I
realize what could have been. Or at least some version of it."
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. "You going to talk in riddles all day?
What is this."
Kay'bee sighed. "Perhaps I can set a foundation for the future.
After viewing my options, I think that-"
Obi-Wan glared at him. "I don't know what you're babbling
about, but your plans had best not include Qui-Gon."
Kay'bee made a face, holding his chest. "Perish the thought. I
know when to let go. Have you ever heard that expression,
Obi-Wan? Let go that which you love, and if it is yours it will
return to you?"
Obi-Wans' eyes narrowed. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Kay'bee lowered his voice, leaning forward. "How's this one?
Love the one you're with!"
"What the hell...is this" Obi-Wan hissed, losing his temper.
"Are you trying to taunt me for some reason!"
"Obi-Wan, please" Kay'bee touched his face. "I'm not here to
fight."
"Why all the double talk then. Do you have something to say?
Don't tell me, let me guess. You're sore because my Master
doesn't return your affections."
"He is extremely passionate, from what I can tell" Kay'bee said
strangely. "Would it be so unusual, then, for me to pursue
him?"
Obi-Wan felt his legs turn to water. Something here was wrong,
very wrong.
"I know some of the discussion he had with you" he said
carefully.
Kay'bee gave another mysterious smile. "But it no longer
bothers you. Why not?"
What's he fishing for? "I trust my Master at his word.
He's never misled me in any fashion."
Kay'bee propped his head in his hands. "I see. He...reassured
you, then?"
"Yes!" Obi-Wan answered carelessly. "Now if you don't mind" he
indicated his work.
"Oh. Yes. Certainly." he stood. "Most padawans have
considerable restrictions. You have more liberties than most,
Obi-Wan. I wish I were as fortunate with my Master Turrell."
Obi-Wan stacked the papers on his desk. "My Master is quite
unconventional."
Kay'bee was nearly at the door. Turning, he tilted his head,
cocking an eyebrow.
"Tell me about it. And so strong, very strong. But you know
that already, don't you, Obi-Wan?"
He left, leaving Obi-Wan staring in confusion.
An hour later, Qui-Gon entered the study. Obi-Wan was still at
it, working on his reports. The conversation with Kay'bee
strained his concentration, though.
"Master?" he looked up, rising.
Qui-Gon glowed. "Sit, do not rise. I'm glad to see you."
Small smile. "Seems like I'll never get these reports finished.
You know how Master Windu is. A stickler for detail."
Qui-Gon grinned, sitting next to his padawan. "Well do I know.
Is Kay'bee about?"
Obi-Wans' mood changed. "No, he left a while ago, I don't know
where. Master, he is up to something."
"What do you mean?"
Obi-Wan frowned in thought. "We had a strange conversation. I
got the distinct impression he was fishing for information."
"Curious. Of what nature?"
Green eyes darkened in uncertainty. "He seemed to be asking
questions of a personal nature, yet he was being obscure. He
made several statements about 'moving on' and 'letting go'.
Then the bizarre reference of 'love the one you're with.'"
Qui-Gon made a face. "What's all that supposed to mean?"
Obi-Wan threw his hands up. "That's just what I mean, I don't
know. It's almost like he's got a secret he won't tell."
Qui-Gon shrugged. "Whatever. I can't be concerned with
Kay'bees' errant moods. But what concerns me is something else"
he began seriously.
Eyes widened. "What! Did something happen?"
Qui-Gon stood behind him, massaging the fine shoulders. "Yes.
This knot in your back."
Obi-Wan blushed. "Master-"
Qui-Gon leaned down, kissing the side of his neck. Wisps of
long hair fell loose. He licked a curved ear. "Qui-Gon."
Big hands slid down the opening in his tunic, massaging and
teasing soft nipples. Slow wet kisses down the ridge of his
jaw, beard tickling.
Obi-Wan shivered at the sensations, eyes closed. "Qui-Gon."
"I want you in bed. Now" Qui-Gon rasped, stroking his cheek.
Obi-Wan leaned back into the touch, control slipping.
"Is...this wise? After our first time I thought you might
change your mind..."
Powerful arms gripped his waist, pulling him up from the chair.
Obi-Wan felt heat and musk, an erection pushing in his back.
"I am not wise" Qui-Gon eyed him roughly. "We go to bed, or do
it here in the study, I don't care!"
"Qui-Gon" Obi-Wan turned, melting into a sloppy kiss. Strong
hands grabbed his behind, squeezing hard.
//Yesss. I am not done with this.//
Obi-Wan licked along the strong throat. "Want it" he groaned,
clutching Qui-Gons' heavy erection.
Obi-Wan slipped hot hands inside Qui-Gons' pants, pulling him
free. Dropping to his knees he sucked voraciously on the silky
head, slurping greedily.
Qui-Gon fell back against the wall, arching and spreading his
legs. Large hands gripped the spiky head, pulling it in.
Still sucking, holding the shaft with one hand, Obi-Wan slipped
off his tunic. The big cock nearly choked him, swelling up
impressively. Qui-Gon reached down, touching the smooth
forehead with two fingers.
"Ghhhhk!!" Obi-Wan felt his body tighten instantly, as
Qui-Gons' reactions raced through his mind. He felt what
Qui-Gon felt.
Qui-Gon kicked out of his pants, sliding to the floor as
Obi-Wan ate him alive, biting his balls, lick lapping the
shaft. Strong hips jerked up.
"Enough" he growled, pinning Obi-Wan on the carpeted floor.
Obi-Wan moaned as full lips nipped and bit under his jaw, along
the ridge of the collarbone. Hot tongue sliding between the
rounded pecs, over towards poking nipples. He plunged his mouth
on one, sucking wetly.
"Gaaugh, Qui-Gon!!" Obi-Wan arched up, body clenching. His
hands tangled in the long hair. Qui-Gon cupped his chest with
both hands, feasting on the plump peaks.
"Love you!!" he shouted as Qui-Gon slurped, munching the tender
points hungrily.
"Love you back" the deep voice rumbled, mouth sliding lower,
mouth wrapping around a thick navel, going lower still. Tongue
snaking in a golden nest of hair, tickling soft sacs.
Obi-Wan twisted underneath him, moaning incoherently. His cock
was beginning to leak. Qui-Gon slid their bodies together,
grinding tightly. Obi-Wan threw arms and legs around his lover,
twitching and shaking.
The handsome face flushed with desire, green eyes lit. "Come
with me!" he yelled, clawing the wide back.
Qui-Gon threw his head back, sliding and groaning. "Life
bond...with me, Obi-Wan!" he gasped, ready to burst. "Make the
vow!"
Obi-Wan blanked of all rational thought, mind and body on fire.
"Yes, love" he whispered as they rocked together. /As one, we
join. Souls touching.../
"Beautiful Obi-Wan" //...and ever touched. Bound forever, never
parted.//
Bronzed thighs flew open with blinding speed. Qui-Gon plunged
inside, ripping them both over the edge.
Blinding light danced behind their eyes as they wracked and
exploded, wet with sticky heat.
"Together..." Qui-Gon gasped, eyes closing.
"Always" Obi-Wan sighed, dropping off. They were out moments
later.
Blearily, Qui-Gon stared at the ceiling. Where?
Then his mind focused. He smiled softly, looking down at his
lifes' love. Obi-Wan was gorgeous, handsome face flushed from
loving, lips plump. Long red lashes lay against high
cheekbones, over green eyes to kill for. The padawan braid was
plastered down the side of his neck. Lush, full nipples graced
the lovely golden chest, well matched with the voluptuous body.
Enough mooning, fool. We've got to get up before Kay'bee
returns.
"Obi-Wan, beloved" //Wake up.//
"Hmm?" Green eyes fluttered. "Oh" big smile.
Soft nuzzle. "We can't stay here, Obi. Up. Kay'bee could arrive
at any moment."
Obi-Wan grabbed the back of the tousled head, pulling it down
into a kiss.
"Mmmm." /You are fantastic, you know that?/
The hot mouth locked onto his. //I aim to please my bondmate.//
Obi-Wan drank in the regal features. Strong aquiline nose and
jawline, powerful and masculine form. Sexy hair tumbling
everywhere, a wild mane. Perfect size and porportion, eyes as
deep and dark as mystery itself. A voice that made him melt. He
sighed.
"I could just lay here for a year like this" he stroked the big
body.
Qui-Gon cuddled up. "Hmm. It would be nice, but hardly
practical. Up off the floor, now. If Kay'bee walks in..."
Obi-Wan sat up quickly. "Not the best way to celebrate a
honeymoon, I guess. But at least for now-"
Qui-Gon stood, pulling him up. "You are a honeymoon,
sexy one" another quick kiss. "And we will have ample
opportunity to explore that...later."
Obi-Wan drew him down the hall, toward the bathroom. "My
warrior, so strong and fine. Let anticpation fuel our desire."
Qui-Gon clutched him close as they went inside the bathroom.
"Hotpot!"
Laughing, Obi-Wan shut the door.
Kay'bee was in a relatively good mood. His tortuous training
regimen was finally at an end.
At least that despot can't run me ragged anymore. Could use
something to eat, though.
Entering the kitchen, he sensed something.
They are here, but not out and about. He grinned at a
memory. Do I need to wonder why?
Chuckling, he went about the rooms. Here we go again. Maybe
I can have a little fun with them.
Adjusting his robes, he glided down the hallway.
"Master Jinn? Obi-Wan? Anyone here!!" he shouted, nearly
laughing.
No response. He knew he wasn't alone. He stopped in the hall
just outside the study.
"What the hell??"
Going into the study, he noticed a small pile of clothes on the
floor. Tunics, pants. A robe.
Smiling widely, he went into the study. The air was heavy with
sex. He shook his head.
"Boys, boys. You just keep hanging yourselves. Fortuneately, I
already have enough pictures to suit my purpose."
Kay'bee picked up a tunic, holding it across his face. He
closed his eyes briefly. Damn. This still isn't easy. I want
to make them squirm. Can't they keep their hands off each
other?!
He spun, sensing someone behind him.
Obi-Wan stood in the doorway, looking somewhat apprehensive. He
had showered, and was wearing a plush robe. His skin was
flushed, lips plumped. Spiky hair was disheveled.
"Kay'bee" he finally said. "I...didn't know you were here."
Kay'bee walked towards him. "You look like you've been...busy.
I saw these clothes lying about and wondered..." he lifted an
eyebrow.
Obi-Wan laughed nervously. "Oh, those. I carried some clothes
to the 'fresher and some of them spilled out of the carrying
bag. Just hadn't bothered picking them up yet."
Kay'bee handed him the tunic. "Odd. Oh well, no harm done."
Obi-Wan decided to change the subject. "I guess you're glad to
be done with Zeel."
Kay'bee sat at the desk. "True. He gives sadism a bad name.
Where is Master Jinn? I do sense him about."
"Well, I..."
"Greetings, Kay'bee" Qui-Gon entered the room, in full Jedi
robes. His demeanor was serene.
The young man bowed, looking him over. "Greetings, Master Jinn.
I sensed you about, but didn't see you..."
"I was meditating. How went your final training session with
Zeel?"
Kay'bee gave a rueful smile. "It went. At least I survived."
Qui-Gon approached him. "Kay'bee. Your time with us grows
short. Turrell contacted me earlier. It would appear that her
schedule will return her to Coruscant tomorrow. Is there
anything special you would like to do today?"
Golden eyes glowed warmly. The attraction was too strong. /You
know what I would wish, Master Jinn. I have no desire to
torture myself./
Obi-Wan eyed him. "Kay'bee, accept what is. You will find
someone, I'm sure of it."
Kay'bee stared. "You can afford to be gracious, you've...I
can't discuss this anymore."
"You are stronger than you know" Qui-Gon assured him. "And
Obi-Wan speaks true, Kay'bee. We all live with our choices."
"Agreed, Master Jinn" the young man stated. "I have choices to
make that will please me greatly. My stay here has been
enlightening. Perhaps I can leave a gift for you both."
Stinks. I don't like this. Obi-Wan was suspicious.
"That isn't necessary, Kay'bee."
"I know, but I feel it's necessary. A nice meal would be nice,
though, and perhaps a simple game of chess? I used to be pretty
good, but haven't played in a while. A nice movie would do,
also."
Qui-Gon beamed. "Certainly. Padawans, I am proud of you both.
You have carried out your assigned duties superbly. Kay'bee, I
have discussed this with Turrell, and she is very pleased."
Kay'bee nodded with some pride. "My thanks, Master Jinn."
Deep blue eyes bored into him. "Today you may call me Qui-Gon,
since it's your last day with us."
Kay'bee couldn't turn his eyes away. "Yes, Qui-Gon."
Obi-Wan fought a stab of jealousy. I will not succumb, it is
not Jedi.
In that moment, Kay'bee thought he saw more dancing in the dark
eyes.
The evening passed pleasantly enough. A good meal, casual
conversation. A few good movies (they never got around to
chess). Finally, everyone retreated to their own rooms.
Obi-Wan spoke to Qui-Gon quietly at the end of the hallway.
Emerald eyes lit with fire. "Would that I could come to your
bed, love" he whispered.
Qui-Gon stood still, arms folded in his robes. "Shh. Do not
think it. Not now. I sense that Kay'bee monitors us."
Stunned surprise. "You know?? I thought that..."
"That I was so smitten that I wouldn't notice his subtle 'mind
tapping'? He is in conflict about an internal decision. We wait
it out, it has yet to reveal itself."
A sigh. /I can't even kiss you./
Qui-Gon turned towards his quarters. //Kiss whatever you want
later. Rest, beloved. I'll see you in the morning.//
Kay'bee peered through a crack in the door, his room dark.
Something's going on. They're whispering, about what? Can't
tap anything.
He saw the two go into separate rooms.
What? Not in the same bed tonight?
Kay'bee closed his door quietly. Padding over to the bed, he
stretched out.
Oh they're smooth, alright. Once I'm out the door they'll
probably start humping in the hallway!
He closed his eyes, smiling. The truth stings.
The next day Kay'bee prepared to leave. Master Turrell was back
on Coruscant, and anxiously awaited her padawan.
They were in the living room, Kay'bee awaiting his transport
call.
"Once again I must thank my gracious hosts" he replied
formally. "Learning from you has been most educational, Master
Jinn. I shall treasure our time together."
Pretty speech. Obi-Wan thought. What's the punch
line?
"I am glad your tutoring went well, Kay'bee. Master Turrell has
received a glowing report. She is eager to discuss it with
you."
Kay'bee looked at them both strangely. "There is something
else. I mentioned a gift."
Qui-Gon waved a hand. "I told you before, it is unecessary,
Kay'bee."
"No, I insist" he reached in his tunic, pulling out a small
imaging disc. He handed it to Qui-Gon. "I want you to have
this."
Qui-Gon was puzzled. "An imager, Kay'bee?"
The young man gave a crooked grin. "You might find it more
interesting than it first appears. If that one becomes damaged
I have a replacement I can give you."
Obi-Wan didn't like the direction of this. "What goes here,
Kay'bee?"
The door panel blinked.
"My transport is here" Kay'bee looked at the door. He faced
them. "I wish you well."
He picked up his dufflel bag, heading for the door. Before
exiting he stopped a final time.
"As for the rest, I apologize. Some things are just impossible
to...resist. But you understand that, no? Not that I'm speaking
in 'Code'..."
Qui-Gon was annoyed. "Your transport, Kay'bee. Enough riddles."
"Farewell." Nodding, he left.
Obi-Wan stepped foward. "Master, I tell you-"
Qui-Gon held a hand out. "Wait." He looked at the imaging disc,
turning it over in his hand. He thought a moment.
"He was trying to tell us something" Obi-Wan insisted.
Qui-Gon went across the room, popping the disc into a player.
"Sit, Obi-Wan. Let's put an end to Kay'bees' mystery."
They sat together apprehensively. An image came forth.
Extremely graphic, complete with sound effects. Captured in all
their glory.
In stunned shock, they stared. Angrily, Qui-Gon cut off the
imager.
Obi-Wan buried his face in his hands. "Oh, ghods. I knew he was
up to something, but this..."
Qui-Gon held him. "How dare he...he would call himself Jedi,
doing this?" stunned disbelief.
Obi-Wans' eyes were too bright. "What are we going to do! If he
takes those images to the Council-"
Qui-Gons' expression darkened. "We don't know if that's his
goal."
Grimly, Obi-Wan jumped up. "I'm done with it. I can still catch
that transport-"
Standing, Qui-Gon stopped him. "Stop! Do nothing in anger,
you'll only make it worse."
"What, then?" Obi-Wan was shaking with fury.
"Control, Obi-Wan! Remember your training. I myself must leave
for a while to compose myself. Stay here. Act rashly, and
Kay'bee may respond in kind. We would all suffer for it."
Obi-Wan stood back stiffly, fighting for composure. "I've gone
round with him since he came here, and now this. How can he
hope to get away with it!"
Deep blue eyes turned nearly black with anger. "A disgrace to
Master Turrell also. But I am not without resources, Obi-Wan. I
too will do whatever is necessary to protect our love."
Rage washed down him like ice. "What do you plan to do?"
Qui-Gon went for his cloak. "Nothing now, I'm too angry. But
should Kay'bee force the issue, I do have a plan of
action."
Obi-Wan kissed his cheek. "When will you be back?"
Qui-Gon hugged him briefly. "An hour or so. Remember, lover,
you are Jedi."
"No. Not here. I'm your bondmate."
Qui-Gon grabbed his chin quickly, kissed him hard. "All that
and more. I'll see you later" pulling on his cowl, he left.
Obi-Wan thought, reflected, and fumed. Time dragged. He'd had
enough. Springing to his feet, he grabbed his outer robes.
"Hell if I'm going to sit here and wait for the axe to fall" he
said, storming out.
He arrived at the quarters of Master Turrell an hour later.
How do I broach this without arousing suspicion? he
tapped the buzzer.
Master Turrell appeared in the doorway. A stocky, middle-aged
Bendorian, she had endless ringlets of red hair that framed her
face. The deep set eyes twinkled.
"Why, Obi-Wan! What brings you about here."
He bowed. "Greetings, Master Turrell. Is Kay'bee about?"
She motioned for him to come in. "He should return shortly.
Come, sit down."
He went inside, mind racing.
"You seem quite anxious, padawan. Is all well with your
Master?"
It will be once I take care of this problem. "Qui-Gon is
well. He brings greetings."
She chuckled. "I'll have to catch him at the next Council
session. Is there anything I can do to assist?"
He gave a vague smile. "Oh, no. It's a private matter, just
something we needed to clear up."
Turrell appeared faintly amused. "I see you have the same
propensity for mystery as my own padawan. Go, wait for him in
the study" she motioned the direction.
He bowed again. "My thanks for your graciousness."
He went into the library. It was large, sedate. Thickly
carpeted, with east facing tinted windows. A massive edge desk
and table, full of drawers. Classic lighting. Storage racks
full of computer data chips...
And discs? his heart thumped wildly. Maybe...
Looking about quickly, he moved toward the shelves. This
would be a logical place to look.
With frantic speed he shuffled through the cabinets, rumbling
through disc storage compartments.
"Dammit, something's got to be here!"
Emerald eyes blazed with urgency. He rifled through the large
desk, opening all the drawers...
"Looking for something?"
Obi-Wan jolted. Standing in the doorway was Kay'bee, arms
folded. Amber eyes lit with amusement.
Adrenaline and anger cut through shock. "Where is it!!" he
hissed.
Kay'bee put a finger to his lips. "Careful. We don't want my
Master to hear. She's very perceptive, you know."
"Damn you" Obi-Wan moved toward him. "Why are you doing this?"
Kay'bee sobered a bit. "You know why. This is all your fault,
Obi-Wan."
"How is this my fault, you lunatic!"
Kay'bee walked past him. "You sensed him slipping away from
you. Is that why you threw your body at him?"
"You-" his face reddened. "You moron! You don't know anything."
Kay'bee spun on him. "He was considering a relationship with
me. Did he tell you that?"
"I know you had a fantasy that he would!"
Kay'bee snorted. "If you are so secure, why lure him to bed? Do
you think you can prevent him from being attracted to me?"
Obi-Wan nearly went for him. Kay'bee stood fast.
"Remember, I have the disc."
Obi-Wan froze. "Conversely" he hissed, "If Qui-Gon wanted
you so damned bad, why did he go to bed with
me??"
Kay'bee blinked, eyes clouding over in anger. "He could love
me. You know that."
"I know you would relish the opportunity to change his mind. It
won't happen" Obi-Wan snapped.
"I think you should leave now."
"What are you going to do!" Obi-Wan demanded.
"I'll see you both twist in the wind a while" Kay'bee said
smugly. "And you dare not mention any of this to my Master.
She'll want to know the reason why."
Obi-Wan looked away, resigned. "What do you want?"
Kay'bee moved toward him, eager. "Simple. Leave Qui-Gon."
"I can't. Especially now."
Kay'bee blinked. "Now? What's that mean?"
Obi-Wan felt a small triumph. "Find your own answers. Qui-Gon
will never come to you."
"You hold no leverage, Obi-Wan. Don't taunt me into a decision
we'll both regret."
"You'd ruin someone you claim to love?!"
Kay'bee winced at that. "Get out of my sight. I'll keep your
dirty little secret...for now" he turned his back. "Go."
Obi-Wan headed for the door. "So be it. But remember, Kay'bee.
Tell the Council about this and you too will be finished as
Jedi. Lying, blackmail, and intrusion of privacy are serious
offenses. Then there's the matter of the Code, which you
yourself were so willing to break!"
The golden eyes were wet. "Get OUT!!"
Obi-Wan left him in the study, head buried in his lap.
Qui-Gon had returned home. He'd spent the last hour pacing the
floors like a slykatt, restless and apprehensive.
Where are you, Obi-Wan!!
So preoccupied, he didn't hear quiet footsteps behind him.
"Here, Master."
Spinning, Qui-Gon grabbed him in a crushing hug.
"Guess you missed me" the muffled voice said against thick
robes.
"You little fool" Qui-Gon chided. "I didn't know if you had
done anything reckless or not. I was worried!"
Obi-Wan stood back, catching his breath. "Just went to punch
Kay'bees' lights out" he smiled.
Qui-Gon returned the smile. "Get in line. Were I not Master,
I'd wring his neck!"
Obi-Wan took his loves' hand, guiding him to the sofa. They sat
down.
"Seriously, Qui-Gon. What are we to do?" Emerald eyes were
searching.
Qui-Gon gathered him in. "Hold still a bit. If Kay'bee does
nothing, so will we."
Obi-Wan turned his head a little. "I don't see why you're being
so understanding."
Qui-Gon sighed, looked away. "Obi-Wan...I've pulled some stunts
in my day. And I know what it is to want something so badly
you'd do anything to get it."
That quelled the anger somewhat. "You mentioned your passions
before."
A nod. "Yes. No Master should come to you the way I did. Many
on the Council have said it is weakness of mine. It's why they
don't always trust my motives."
"But love" Obi-Wan kissed his hand, "if you hadn't, we wouldn't
be life-bonded."
Qui-Gon pulled him into a hard kiss, releasing him quickly.
"One more thing the Council cannot know of, at least at this
time. Obi-Wan, we have committed the ultimate breach for Jedi.
You must be prepared for what might happen."
The young man swallowed. "You think they'd cast us out?"
"Few infractions are as severe as violation of the Code. We
must beware, and I can't emphasize this enough."
Obi-Wan felt a stab of panic. "We can't trust Kay'bee!!"
Qui-Gon nuzzled him. "We can. What he did, wrong and desperate
as it was, came from love. And I know a great deal about the
extremes it can drive people to."
Obi-Wan cuddled. "Did I ever mention how wise you are? Not to
mention sexy as hell."
"Oh??" Qui-Gon rumbled, licking an ear. "I seem to remember a
honeymoon being mentioned."
Roaming hands, smacking kisses. "But, where do you want to go?"
emerald eyes lit with lust.
Midnight eyes blazed with heat. "Bed" he said simply, tossing
his lover over his shoulder.
Obi-Wan sighed happily.
"My work is never done" he giggled as he was carried to the
bedroom.
Several luxurious hours later they lay quietly, wrapped in
blankets and each other. Bodies glistening from hard loving.
Sucking lips softly. "Mmm. Taste good" Qui-Gon murmured against
a silky neck.
Obi-Wan smiled, eyes shut tight. He nuzzled in tight.
"Oh, yes. Perfect" strong hands stroked damp skin. Qui-Gons'
long hair tumbled around them, making a blanket of seclusion.
"I am not above keeping secrets, lover" Qui-Gon told him.
Obi-Wan pecked his nose. "I don't kiss and tell" he breathed,
eyes hot.
The telecall box flashed.
Qui-Gon reached across the bed, picking up the receiver. "Yes?"
Obi-Wan stretched lazily, playing with the muscled chest.
Qui-Gons' face turned to apprehension. He sat up, listening.
"Yes, certainly. We will be there."
Obi-Wan sensed something had gone wrong. "What is it, love?"
anxiety cut through him.
In stunned silence, Qui-Gon placed the receiver down. "Windu
says our presence is required at an emergency Council session."
Solemnly Obi-Wan pulled him down, holding him tight. "We will
fight it."
Qui-Gon crushed him close. "And we will win" he said fiercely.
