Obi-Wan flew through the corona of the sun, accelerating near
light speed as he approached the fiery surface. He saw the
molten landscape that seemingly stretched to infinity. Sunspots
were dotted everywhere, flame halos firing and arching
thousands of miles out.
/Beautiful. Pure inferno./
Face feral, eyes wild, he plunged through. A world of heat and
power surrounded him, swirling flame in a kalidescope of
yellow, orange, and red. He flew wildly in all directions,
revelling in the thrill of the moment. Not satisfied, he went
towards the white hot core.
/Strange. This isn't as attractive as the bulk of the
star. The landscape here is boring, monotonous. No inflection
of color at all./
He flew outward again, rapidly approaching the surface. With a
burst he exploded out of the searing fire, into outer space.
Qui-Gon levitated lotus-style about ten feet over their rec
room floor. Oftentimes he used the game room as a place of
mental pursuits. This was one such time. A mesh of mental
energy surrounded him. By focusing on any area of the webbing
he could be aware of every event occuring in that particular
corner of the universe.
He smiled to himself. Obi-Wan explored the native sun to Urus.
He himself had just gotten back from examining the planet core.
You have Tallandra's restless energy and my spirit of
adventure. A heady mix, my Obi.
He smiled again. In the power, anything is possible. We must
continue to experience new sensations, new knowledge.
He turned his attention to an interesting uprising on a small
planet light years away.
Obi-Wan flew around the sun in orbit, taking in the immensity
of the sight.
/The universe is large. Eventually I must see all of
it./
He began to glow. His flight made a crimson trail across the
infinite void. Faster and faster.
He closed his eyes, enjoying the rush. Arms out wide against
the vaccum of space.
I am the power. Let nothing stand before me.
It was true. But the power made no allowances for carelessness.
Had Obi-Wan paid attention to his flight he would have seen the
asteroid debris coming his way.
As it was, he did not.
Qui-Gon broke concentration. "Obi-Wan?" he said aloud.
He levitated back down, gaining his feet. "Strange. I've
suddenly lost all sense of him" he motioned, dissipating the
web of energy in the room. He adjusted his robe.
No need to overreact. He may have run into an interesting
situation.
Qui-Gon had no idea how interesting. Obi-Wan collided
full speed into a chunk of flying debris along an asteroid
belt. He struck it with enough impact to split the boulder
sized debris in two and render himself unconscious. He drifted
along the void.
Qui-Gon woke the following morning to an empty bed. He grew
concerned.
No mind touch, nothing. Force, I hope nothing is wrong.
Obi-Wan had lost all sense of time and space when he groggily
came to. His head pounded. Still not fully conscious, he began
to fly again in a haggard pattern.
/Head hurts./
A miniscule figure against the wide darkness weaved in a crazed
pattern.
Back on Urus, Qui-Gon had sensed him immediately once he
regained consciousness. He wrongly assumed Obi-Wan was fine.
Nothing could have been further from the truth. Obi-Wan
continued to fly haphazardly across space.
/What. Who am I? I'm...flying?/
He sighted a small, purplish looking planet. We weaved towards
it.
/Have to stop. Land. Head's killing me./
He entered the outer atmosphere, falling at sublight speed.
Flame burst from his descending form.
Thousands of miles below, two scantily clad natives were
returning from their hunt.
"Ibut. Look there, in the sky. See that?"
Her companion looked up. "I see nothing but the stars. What say
you, Errin?"
"No, look!" she emphasized, pointing at a flaming
streak.
Ibut squinted. A small red streak flared unnaturally bright
against the night sky.
"You're right! Let's go see" he grabbed her hand. They bolted
at a dead run through the woods.
Obi-Wan was largely unaware when he hit. The impact did not go
unnoticed.
Miles away, the two natives were still running toward the
sound. They slowed as they approached what appeared to be a
crater in an open meadow. It was nearly fifteen feet across.
Something was smoking from the center of the caved soil.
Errin stared. "Be cautious, Ibut. What is it?"
He shook his head. "Come. We must go closer."
The two crept towards the edge of the crater. Their breath
caught.
Obi-Wan lay unconscious, denim uni-suit smoking. He was
barefoot.
"It...is a man" Errin gasped.
Ibut shook his head in amazement. "No man flies from the sky.
See? Look at him. He came from the fire."
They moved closer. Obi-Wan stirred. With a groan, he sat up.
The natives froze, staring in awe. He turned to look at them,
disoriented.
/Who am I? Where is this place. More importantly, who are these
people?/
He returned the stare. Some instinct made him probe their minds
for information and language. He thought a moment.
"You...are Ibut and Errin" he stated dully. His head still
throbbed somewhat.
They looked at each other then stepped forward, falling to
their knees.
"You are the fire god" Ibut whispered. "We saw your descent,
great one."
Obi-Wan chose his response carefully. "What did you see?"
Errin answered. "We were hunting, and saw fire across the sky.
It headed into the forest. We followed, and found you here."
Obi-Wan observed them. Humanoid, with pale orange skin and
violet eyes. Black hair. Adorned with body paint in geometric
patterns and decorated with various shells, stones, and
feathers. Their clothing consisted of simple skin wraps. He
found them quite appealing.
"Please, rise to your feet" he told them. "I am confused."
They stood slowly. Errin spoke first. "Surely you test us,
lord. But what is your name?"
He sat quietly a moment. They eagerly watched him.
"I am..." with a shock he realized he didn't know his name. He
tried turning over familiar sounds in his mind.
"Ah, Oba, Oban. I'm not sure."
Ibut smiled. "A riddle, lord? Your name is Oban?"
He smiled back. "Call me Oban, then."
Errin reached to touch him. "May I..?"
He nodded. In wonderment, she touched his clothing.
"These skins...I have never seen their like."
He grinned at her. It isn't a skin. It's material, fabric."
She stared. "Fab-ric" she turned the word over. "What is this
fabric?"
"It's" he realized she had no reference point. "Like a covering
made from hair."
Ibut nodded. "Oh, then. A different pelt. It's so unusual,
though" he touched Obi-Wans' sleeves.
He struggled to his feet. Ibut and Errin moved to help him up.
Ibut. "Are you in pain, Oban? Surely your flight from the skies
has been exhausting."
Obi-Wan nodded. "It was. My...journey has been a long one."
They eyed him critically. Errin tugged at the long braid. "You
are lord of the hunt, as well?"
"Why do you say that?"
"This" she pulled his braid again. "Another test, great one?
Errin is not ignorant. 'Tis surely a sign of a hunter, a
warrior."
He felt a curious rolling sensation in his stomach. Hunger. But
for what?
"I need to rest."
"Come with us, Oban" Ibut told him. He hooked an arm around
Obi-Wan. "We will tend you, lord. But you must be presented to
the village."
His head cleared by the second. "How so?"
Ibut laughed. "Our fire god is arrived. This is news! Our
priests will prepare the proper celebration."
"I thank you for the hospitality. But I need to rest first"
what is this strange sensation, this hunger! They
supported him as they walked along. Obi-Wan moved slowly.
They...their closeness. It does something to me. I can smell
them. Their skin, their blood.
Blood.
"Ssssss."
"Lord Oban? Are you well?" Ibut was concerned. "Can you make it
to the village?"
"Let me rest here a bit. Go on. I will find you later."
Errin looked him over. "Are you certain? Do you wish us to make
preparations for your arrival?"
His throat burned. "Leave now" he said. "Do as you will. I will
join you later."
They bowed. "It will be done, Oban."
Obi-Wan nodded, sitting at the base of a tree. When he looked
up they were gone.
I hunger. I must...
Instinct ruled. With a suddeness of motion, he raced through
the wood. Looking for...what?
Bare feet struck soft soil. He looked down, noticing for the
first time. The nails were long and pointed, almost clawlike.
Silvery and smooth.
What am I?
He heard a sound, crouched low. In the small meadow ahead a
striped animal with furred shoulders came into view. A flat
tail dragged on the ground. Cautiously it came into the open,
long ears alert.
Blind with hunger Obi-Wan roared, leaping onto the startled
creature. They struggled, the animal biting him on the arm. He
ripped the belly open, pressing his face against the spurting
gush, gulping greedily.
Yes. Good.
Actually, it wasn't. The blood was rather bitter but
satisfactory. After a few minutes, he sat away from his prey.
I feast on blood. What else? he stared at his rapidly
shortening nails. I could read the minds of those natives.
Do I have powers?
He pointed at the carcass. It exploded into flame and turned to
ash.
Hmm. Perhaps I am a god of fire after all.
He washed his face and hands in a nearby stream. Stretching out
on the soft grass, his eyelids drooped.
There is too much about myself I don't know. I'd best find
out as quickly as possible.
He drifted off to sleep soon afterwards.
Ibut and Errin were in the village, excitedly explaining the
arrival of their new god. The elders were somewhat skeptical.
"You are young, both" one of the priests told them. "And prone
to exaggeration. Where is this 'god' you speak of? What does he
look like?"
"He is in the wood as we speak, renewing himself" Errin told
them as they sat at a fire. He is young, handsome and fair. He
bears the braid of a warrior, and is strong of body."
Ibut. "And his eyes are the color of the wild forests. He spoke
our names when he arrived."
"But where did you find him?" another elder asked.
"He came from the fire that blazed across the sky earlier. We
saw his descent."
The flaming phenomenon had been seen by many villages.
That caused some murmurs among the group.
"Errin, Ibut" grand elder Bikk spoke. He wore an enormous
headdress. "Should this be so, preparations are in order. We
must greet...what is his name?"
"Oban" a lone figure said. The circle turned.
Obi-Wan approached them, smiling. "It would appear I've
surprised you."
"Great Oban!" Errin and Ibut once again fell to their knees.
"We greet you. Welcome to our village!"
Stunned, the elders rose slowly. At a signal from Bikk, they
also bowed.
"Are you then the fire god that greets us from the sky?"
The green eyes sparked. "I've been called so. My journey taxed
me greatly. Errin and Ibut showed me kindness. I would return
it."
The group remained on their knees. Bikk spoke again. "We have
not had time to properly prepare, lord. The other villages must
be told of this great event!"
Obi-Wan sat among them. "There's no need to fuss. I'll be glad
to meet everyone."
In stunned shock they gawked. "You sit among us! It is a
providence" Bikk noted.
Obi-Wan shook his head. "I command you all to be at ease. Sit,
be comfortable."
Uneasily they complied. They stared, looking him over.
Another elder spoke. "Preparations will still be made, Oban.
What is your wish?"
Errin sat boldly next to him, smiling.
"I want everyone to have a good time. Why don't you introduce
yourselves?"
Bikk answered him. "I am Bikk, grand elder. The other elders
before you are Mauri, Kewll, Xoov, Puau, and Geeim. We are
honored you chose our village to visit first."
Obi-Wan beamed. For the first time since his arrival, he felt
the glow of companionship. "It was the closest one. But I'd be
more than happy to see members of other villages."
Puau spoke up. "Indeed. A proper ceremony, lord Oban. Many from
the outlying villages will be invited. Do you have any
requirements?"
Obi-Wan smiled at Errin. "Nothing special. I'd like to rest
here this night with you all."
Xoov clapped her hands together. "Excellent, lord! Tomorrow we
discuss and make plans."
Qui-Gon was really concerned. Not the fact that Obi-Wan
had been gone for two days, but the fact that he hadn't made
contact.
He sensed him as part of the universe, background noise.
What are you about, my Obi? he wondered. Contact me
soon.
He went to work in the garden.
Obi-Wan slept in rare comfort on a bed of soft straw and grass.
Blankets woven from dried leaves covered him, their scent fresh
and clean. Surrounding him were the various elders on their own
pallets. They all slept within a huge hut, dotted with woven
mats, wooden tables and chairs. Ceramic pottery containing
everything from dried fruit to plants and seeds rested on
various tables.
Tomorrow would be a day of celebration.
Interlude. Orious.
"How very interesting."
"How so, Kretth?"
Palpatines' cracked features formed a smile. "Look on the
visiscreen, Krydd. What do you see?"
The Sith lord snorted. "Bah. One of our territorial planets on
the outer rim. No useful energy resources and full of
simpleminded idiots in buckskins."
Palpatine laughed. "Indeed. But reach out into the dark. Tell
me what you feel."
Krydd closed his eyes, concentrating on waves in the force. A
ripple, swelling to ponderous proportions. His eyes snapped
open. Square jowls shook.
"By the force! What madness is this. Must our fates always be
intertwined?"
Palpatine nodded. "In the dark, it is so. I have observed in my
minds' eye what occurs on that mudball. It appears Obi-Wan is
there, but his memory is not intact."
Krydd knitted bushy eyebrows together. "Oh? But why is he
there? There's no conceivable reason-"
"I believe he had an accident which has caused memory loss"
Palpatine interrupted. "That being said, he is being worshiped
as a deity by our grass wearing friends. I see a golden
opportunity. After all, everyone has a family" he laughed again
evilly.
Krydd grinned. "Ah. Presumably, the gods claim their own then,
eh?"
Palpatine made an affected gesture. "Why, we are so
worried about our favorite son!"
The Sith cackled obscenely, making sinister plans.
The celebration was everything advertised. Hundreds of natives
from villages all around came to see Oban. There was dancing,
music and feasting.
"You do not eat, great one. Why?" Bikk asked, as they watched
more dancing.
If I am their god, I need not lie. "I require blood,
Bikk" the green eyes glinted.
He nodded. "Ah. We would save the sacrifice for last."
Bikk motioned to the dancers. They retreated. Others scurried
to bring out the sacrifice.
It was a goat, prepared with sweetmeats and fruits. Blood
filled the surrounding bowls.
"Ssssss." Obi-Wan leaned forward, emerald eyes wild as he
scented the mixture.
Xoov observed him. "You are pleased, Lord Oban? Our cooks
prepared well, I think."
The servants placed food on individual plates. Blood bowls were
passed around.
The priests handed Obi-Wan the first. He swallowed noisily.
"Another" he rasped, the thirst still strong. Kewll nodded at
the servants to bring more.
Obi-Wan glutted, the sights, scents and sounds driving his
darker nature to excess. His eyes glowed.
"You have done well, I am pleased. Ask what you will of
me. If I can, I will give it to you."
"Time enough later, great one" Puau stated. "Now is a time for
more celebration."
Obi-Wan felt mellow. Natives came to greet him or touch him, or
to ask about 'other gods'.
"I must say, you certainly know how to party" Obi-Wan smiled.
He looked about at the revellers, spying Errin. Her hair was
plaited in mini-braids which cascaded down over her shoulders.
She danced with the others.
Their movements fascinated him. He could sit still no longer.
He joined them, sweeping Errin up in a loose embrace.
Bright violet eyes shone. She laughed freely. "Does Oban favor
Errin this day?"
He took her hands, spinning her around. "He does! Let's have
fun" he held her close. The others danced around them. The
elders watched and smiled.
Obi-Wan held Errin tightly, enjoying the moment. His cheek
rested against her smooth face. Sleek, honeyed curves...
...strong, muscled musk.Qui-Gon...
Startled, he pulled back. Errin looked at him in surprise.
"Have I displeased you in some fashion, Oban?"
He stared at her in confusion. "No! I mean...I just had a
flashback."
"What is this flashback?"
"A memory of someone or something."
Errin looked away. "I see. I cannot compete with a goddess."
Obi-Wan sighed. This worship was getting to him, weighing him
down. And he still didn't have enough answers or his memory.
"You don't understand, Errin. The memory could be of my
family."
She brightened. "Perhaps they will seek you out. Do you think
they sent you ahead before their arrival?"
The thought struck him. He pecked her cheek. "Errin, you are a
genius! It's possible. Let's dance some more."
She laughed again. He whirled her the night away.
Palpatine always loved preemptive strikes. There was no need
for subtlety. In his private chambers he gloated, reaching
across the dark void of the force. Seeking the power.
His mind touched the one he sought.
Qui-Gon was irritated, despite having just fed. He returned
home and decided to take a shower. As he towelled himself dry
and headed towards the bedroom, his head snapped to attention.
A mental probe.
//Who dares??//
//Greetings, dark one. I trust introductions are unecessary?//
"Ssssssss."
//Come, come. Is that any way to greet an old friend? I thought
perhaps we should have a little chat.//
Qui-Gon thought a moment. //What do you want, Sith. I have no
more words for you now than I did before.//
//You are lovely as ever. And all male. I should catch a
shuttle and meet you. I would love another kiss.//
//Fool! I have no time for this nonsense.//
//I guess the progress of the prodigal son doesn't interest
you.//
Qui-Gon felt a stab in his gut.
//Are you threatening?...//
//Why, no. I love the dear boy. In fact his latest adventure
interests me greatly.//
//If you've...//
//I've done nothing. He resides on a planet as the resident
god.//
//!!!!!//
//A natural progression. Power such as his cannot be restrained
by mortal constrictions. I am quite pleased.//
//Explain this, Palpatine. What do you know of Obi-Wan?//
//Hasn't contacted you, has he? Poor boy. His memory is
somewhat...suspect.//
//I must go to him.//
//That won't be necessary. I'm going to rescue the dear one.//
Qui-Gon snarled. //Touch him in any way...//
//Spare me your threats. It's time to claim that which is mine.
Would that I could tell you where he is, but-//
//Beware! I am the power as well, Sith. I will find my son!//
//Shall we make it a contest? I'll race you to him, demon!!//
"Palpatine!!" Qui-Gon roared, fangs bared. He was alone in his
own mind. Mocking laughter echoed as the contact was severed.
He slapped on a robe. "We shall see who laughs last, Sith. Toy
with me and you will suffer worse than the damned."
He floated down to the rec room to begin a psychic search.
Time is of the essence he mused, weaving a complex
pattern of force about himself.
Obi-Wan danced Errin to exhaustion.
"Lord Oban, I can't continue!" she gasped, laughing.
Obi-Wan smiled, gently setting her down. "My apologies, Errin.
I forgot to slow down. Would you like something to eat?"
She gasped. "It is not appropriate-"
He waved her off. "Sit there, I'll be back" he squeezed through
crowds of admiring natives who still touched him in awe.
Reaching the sacrifice platter, he found some dried fruit and
berries. As he stood with a bowl, another native touched his
arm. A female.
"Greetings, lord Oban. I am Jerte of the river village. It is
not necessary to spend all of your attention on Errin. There
are others who would seek your favor" she eyed him up and down.
Obi-Wan gave a small smile, looking her over. A little taller,
more statuesque where Errin was lithe. Her hair was cut in
asymmetrical layers that framed her face in whisps. Her eyes
were enormous.
When he didn't answer, she pressed on. "Forgive my boldness,
lord. We of the river clan are more direct than our forest
brethren. But...your beauty drew me to your side" she stared
into his eyes.
He felt warm all of a sudden. "There is...something to be said
for boldness, Jerte. Why don't you join us?"
She thought it over, then hooked his arm. "I am honored."
They went over to Errin. She definitely wasn't pleased.
"Lord Oban. We are to have company?" her voice held disdain.
I am fought over. Delightful.
"There's enough for everyone. Sit, Jerte."
Obi-Wan handed Errin the food bowl. She was famished, eating
rapidly.
"Your manners are abominable in front of our god" Jerte chided.
Errin stopped, glared at her. "Then let Lord Oban speak of his
displeasure."
"Ladies" Obi-Wan sat between them. "There will be peace among
us. Both of you eat to your heart's content. The day grows late
and I would rest."
Jerte ate from the bowl as well. Watching them was
pleasureable.
Two warriors stood off, observing. "Which clan will Oban favor
first? It seems he is undecided" one stated.
"Difficult to say, Urgin" the second answered. "But should
Jerte have her way, all the river people will harvest well this
year!"
Chortling, they went back to the celebration.
Palpatine and Krydd were aboard a private starship, the
Nightstalker. They whiled away the hours playing chess.
"So. It would appear that our young 'god' takes to his station
well."
Palpatine laughed. "Indeed. We need not act in haste. Time and
events are on our side for a change."
Krydd frowned. "One thing concerns me. What about Qui-Gon?"
Palpatine steepled his fingers. "Once Obi-Wan is under our
control, he will follow. In the dark, he will have no choice."
Krydd moved his knight. "We'd best be right about this. We
don't want another decimation of our ranks like what occured
during our last skirmish."
"You worry too much. There will be no repeat. We will convince
Obi-Wan that we are his family, fellow 'gods'. His memory is
fractured, and we can take advantage of this situation. He will
return to the Empire with us."
Krydd snorted. "Though he may enjoy his godhood there, it is a
pale existence compared to the universe."
Palpatine nodded. "True. Soon enough will that idyllic life
bore him. And his darker nature must be satisfied. It cannot
happen there."
"Well" Krydd sniffled affectedly. "What else is loving family
for. I, his dear uncle."
Palpatine chuckled. "And me, his loving father. Family
reunions. They bring a tear to my eye!"
The Dark lords roared with laughter in anticipation.
It was another mellow evening. Obi-Wan sat quietly in his
personal hut, reflecting on his current state. He sighed.
This is insane, I can't stay here. Who am I, where am I
from? It's so frustrating.
He massaged his chest. His nipples ached and his balls were
tight.
"Sssssssssss." I want it. Bad. Need somebody, something.
He leaned back, eyes closed. Pictured Jerte and Errin both
doing him up and down. His hand slipped into his denim
uni-suit, pulling his cock free. He stroked it.
"Yes."
Their pale orange skin glistening, curved bodies and full lips.
On him, over him. He pulled himself harder. Jerte flipping him
over...
...pounding him from behind. Her hair loosening and growing by
the second, violet hair turning into a golden brown train.
Muscled arms tight. A big hand reached around, pinching his
nipples...
His eyes flew open. That's not Jerte!
Too late. Hips jerking, he splattered over his thighs. Sweating
hotly, he put a forearm over his eyes.
Another memory. Who?? Force, it was so good.
Obi-Wan blinked in confusion. "What's 'force' mean. Why'd I say
that?"
He stood quickly, irritated. I need to bathe. And to clear
my head.
Obi-Wan stalked out of his hut. Jerte approached him with
skins.
"Jerte? What are you about here" he asked her.
"I thought Lord Oban would like to wear these" she held them
out. "You have not changed since your arrival."
He smiled at her. "Thanks, Jerte. I was just going to bathe."
She hooked his arm. "Then allow me the honor of attending you."
"Come, then. I'd like the company."
She brightened. Now is my opportunity.
Obi-Wan grinned at her thoughts. "Is there a lake or river
about?"
Jerte laughed. "Surely you jest, lord. I would think you'd know
that already."
He sighed. "The long trip has affected my memory. It isn't all
back yet."
She touched his forehead. "Perhaps our medicines can heal you.
Meanwhile, follow me."
She bounded off like a tracker. He sprinted after her. They ran
through the woods.
He watched her. Strong and curvaceous. Hair flying in the wind.
After a few minutes he smelled water. They were very close.
"This way, lord!" she shouted. He followed her down a sloping
hill. A wide stream ran for miles.
"All right!" he ran and dived in ahead of her. She continued to
stand at the waters' edge.
He splashed up. "Jerte! Why don't you join me?"
She smiled slowly. "Does Lord Oban desire me this night?" she
put down the skins.
"I desire that you get in this water. Come on!" he splashed at
her.
Laughing, she stepped in. They splashed each other. Obi-Wan
felt free, light-headed. Jerte and the moon were a heady mix.
Soon enough they were embracing. Her enormous violet eyes fixed
on him.
She touched his face. "Lord Oban. My people would seek your
favor. Would you accompany me to my village tomorrow?"
He felt her curves. They were good. "What do you want from me
Jerte? I'll help if I can."
She kissed him. "Our villages are suffering a terrible drought.
Our crops and farmlands are ruined."
He stroked her jaw. "I'll go. Perhaps if I can do something
useful I'll feel better."
She looked at him. "Your eyes are the color of the wild lands.
And I would like to-"
"What goes here!!"
Startled, they spun. At the shoreline stood an irritated Errin.
Jerte stared at her. "How now, woman! Stand back."
"No. Lord Oban is guest of our village."
"It matters not! He will accompany me tomorrow-"
"Do your campaigning somewhere else. Go home alone!!"
"LADIES!!!"
They stopped, glaring at each other sullenly.
"Errin. Join us."
"Not with her."
Obi-Wan stepped from the water. "Then I will come out" his
uni-suit was heavy on him, soaked with water.
Errin looked him over. "You must change, lord. Those skins are
not suitable now."
Jerte stormed out of the water. "Then he will wear what
I have brought. See there on the ground!" she pointed at
the grass.
Errin snorted.
Obi-Wan flopped on the ground. This wasn't turning out the way
he hoped.
"The skins are fine, and I do need to change. If you would-" he
waved them off.
Jerte blinked. "No, lord. I am in attendance, and must dress
you" she pulled at his pants.
"Jerte!" this woman is bold.
"Brazen frook!" Errin spat. "To so disrespect...it is typical
of river trash!"
She stood in front of Errin. "And good with the spear as well,
woman. Be mindful of that!"
Obi-Wan squeezed in between them. He'd had enough.
"I had hoped for an evening of enjoyment. That's no longer
possible. Both of you go home. Jerte, come to my hut in the
morning. I will accompany you."
Jerte gave a look of triumph.
Errin scowled at her. "It will be done, lord. I must return
home. But remember, you are guest first to the forest clan."
Obi-Wan held her hand. "Don't misunderstand, Errin. I'll see
you later."
Her eyes flashed at him. She nodded then turned and bounded off
into the night. Obi-Wan turned towards Jerte, who stood
expectantly.
Rounded hips swaying, she stalked toward him. Her voice was
low.
"Shall I stay a while, Lord?" she looked at him through violet
lashes.
Without realizing it he grabbed her, kissing her hard. His
nature raged as they fell to the ground.
Her hands were strong. She pulled off his soaked denim shirt,
kissing his nipples. His eyes closed in pleasure at the touch.
"SSsssss."
"I shall please you, lord" she breathed hotly, baring her round
breasts.
He couldn't take it. Pressing her down, he fondled and kissed
the smooth globes. Jerte groaned in delight. She reached into
his pants, pulling him free. The smooth fingers stroked the
shaft and head rapidly.
"Jerte" he gasped, arching back. She slipped underneath him,
closing full lips on the soft head, pulling with gripping
suction. She yanked his pants off, wondering.
"You are beautiful, magnificent" she gasped. Long fingers
teased his balls.
Obi-Wan cried out as she slipped his cock between her breasts,
bouncing back and forth. His hips yanked up.
"Yessssss!"
Her eyes closed as she stroked herself as well. Moments later
they were both shouting and bucking in the dark.
Jerte lay atop, her firm breasts squashed against him. It felt
good. He crushed his arms around her.
"You're wonderful, Jerte."
She leaned into him quietly. "Am I looked upon with favor, Lord
Oban?"
"Oh yes. I like you a lot."
She smiled, sitting up. "Then, I will return to my
village, Lord. The elders there will not be pleased with my
extended absence" she pecked his cheek.
He watched her re-wrap skins about herself. It was very erotic.
She stood over him, eyeing him appreciatively. "Magnificent"
she said again. Obi-Wan blushed a little.
"Lord Oban, will others come?"
He sat up. "Others?"
"Other gods. Surely they will not ignore our plight now that
you are here."
"I don't know. My memory is too incomplete."
She nodded, bowed. "Perhaps our medicines can heal you
tomorrow. Until then, Lord Oban" like Errin, she blended into
the night.
Obi-Wan lay on the grass awhile, looking up at the moon. His
body tightened up again, worse than before. The sex had aroused
him further instead of calming. It was becoming unbearable. He
squeezed and rubbed his tender chest peaks, pulled on a
stiffening cock.
Jerte is...long gone. Damn, I can't take this.
He rolled on his stomach, attempting to squash the hard
erection away. No luck. Aching for completion, he ground his
hips into the ground, firing into thick grass a moment later.
Gasping, he leaned up on an elbow.
Maybe I should go into the river again. At least it'll cool
me off.
Obi-Wan staggered into the water, stretching out and floating
on his back. He looked up at the stars.
If I really belong there, how do I get back? And why doesn't
someone come for me?
The cooling water helped some. His mind drifted off....
Musk and cinnamon assaulted his senses. Strong muscled arms
grabbed him from behind, big hands parted his cheeks. A finger
slipped inside.
"Aaah."
A thick cock sliding inside, filling him with raw heat. Hands
slapping his thighs, stinging them with excitement.
"Yesss."
One of those hands pinching his balls. Tongue licking in his
ear. A strong body pumping him hard...
"Coming!!"
His eyes snapped open as he thrashed, shooting a thick stream
into the air. Raggedly he stood in the waist high water. His
cock popped up again.
"I've got to do something" he whispered. "Can't...yank off all
night."
He lurched out, feeling strange. Something was happening to
him.
"Snnrlll."
He felt wild, strong. The night was beautiful. He wanted to be
in it. As he approached the waters' edge he fell to his knees.
"AAaaaooOO!!"
In horror and fascination he stared at his hands. Red fur
sprouted, the clawlike nails lengthened.
Changing. Can't stop. Don't want to...
Before he could think further he stood on his haunches. Obi-Wan
padded to the waters's edge looking at his reflection.
I'm...a wolf!!!
He continued to stare, disbelieving. But he was excellent.
Thick glossy red fur, strong head and jaws, wide and fine ears.
Green eyes blazing in the moonlight.
What insanity is this? I've got to get my memory back!
He edged along the river, looking at himself.
Strange. I should be shocked. But this feels...natural
somehow.
Sniffing the air, he ran off into the wood.
The Nightstalker approached planetary range. Aboard, the
Sith Lords were just finishing dinner. Palpatine sipped his
wine.
Krydd. "You seem strangely calm, Kretth. I would think the
anticipation would make you nervous."
Palpatine gave a soft chuckle. "Hardly. The prize is mine.
There's no need for panic."
"This situation calls for subtle manipulation. Obi-Wan can be
influenced given his current mental confusion."
Palpatine nodded. "That is precisely why now is the time to
strike. Hah! It will make the Skywalker coup pale in
comparison!"
Krydd looked at the visiscreen. "We're about three hours from
planetfall. What do you wish to do?"
"We'll pluck him from that mudball while Qui-Gon chases ghosts
along the force. The true prodigal son returns to the empire!"
Krydd nodded in satisfaction. "Logical, of course. Many belief
systems have several gods. It will be relatively easy
convincing those simpletons below we are gods as well."
Palpatine closed his eyes. "To them, we will be."
Obi-Wan had just pounced on a wild deer, savoring its' blood.
He drank until he could hold no more, dropping down heavily
next to his prey.
Am I a creature...or a man. I seem to be neither one.
Sated, he found a nestle of shrubbery that made a soft nest
under a nearby tree. The thick bushy tail that curled around
himself...
Disappeared. Blinking, he looked down at his nude form.
What triggers this? The sex or the need?
He threw his hands up, frustrated. Naked in the woods. If
only I had my uni-suit back on...
And just like that he did. Startled, he patted himself to make
certain it was real. It was dry, too.
Incredible. I can transmute matter at will. Perhaps I am a
god. If so, did I fall out of favor? Is that why I was cast out
here?
He shook his head. None of it felt right. Making a gesture, he
wove a blanket out of air molecules. Wrapping it tightly about
himself he fell asleep.
Qui-Gon had sensed a trail of Obi-Wan along a section of his
psychic web. He focused on it. Closing his eyes he allowed his
awareness to view recent timelines in that sector.
He saw his son, flying out of a nearby sun. Colliding with
asteroid debris then flying erratically around the galaxy.
Flaming down on a small planet...
His eyes pinched shut in pain. "Obi-Wan!"
His concentration lapse nearly landed him on the floor. Fists
clenched, he forced himself to calm.
I'll be of no use if I can't control myself. And I will find
you, Obi. I swear it!
Folding his legs under himself he resumed his psychic search.
Jerte had been patiently waiting at Obi-Wans' hut for half an
hour. One of the village elders, Xoov approached. Her long,
angular framed moved with difficulty from age.
"What are you doing about, girl. Back to your own tribe at the
river! There will be no nonsense here."
She eyed the elder haughtily. "I think not, old one. Many of my
people attended the celebration of our god. It is possible that
there will be others soon. And if such is the case, my
people will find favor first!"
"I know you" Xoov eyed her. "And beware. The gods are not
subject to your wanton ways. Lord Oban may see you as fine, but
there is no guarantee-"
Jerte flicked a whisp of hair from her eyes. "I assume nothing.
Lord Oban sees me with favor. In fact, he will accompany me
today to my village. No thanks to your clan, we suffer
from drought."
"Ha! A river tribe that cannot manage water. It is a joke."
"We'll see who laughs at the end, Xoov. Perhaps Oban shall
choose me as his queen. Then the heavens will bend to my rule."
"Mad fool!" Xoov shook a cane at her.
"Good morning."
They turned, startled. Obi-Wan stood behind them.
"I-" Jerte stammered. "Lord Oban!" she dropped to her knees.
Xoov nodded, struggling to kneel.
"Please, enough" Obi-Wan moved to help the aged Xoov up.
"Ha" she cackled. "Our Lord takes pity on an old woman."
He smiled at her. "Pity? You're stronger than us all!"
She beamed. "Oh, but for lost years, Lord. I'd give this girl
competition!"
Jerte looked mortified. "Did you hear-"
"Some of it" Obi-Wan answered her. "I promised to go to your
village and I will. Are you ready?"
"Yes. I thought perhaps you wished to stay here."
Obi-Wan thought a moment. "I will, but first I want to see
what's happening down by the river. I'll help if I can. Come."
He took her hand. As they walked away, she threw a look over
her shoulder at Xoov.
"Beware the spiders' web, Lord Oban" Xoov shouted. "Be not
ensnared!"
Sound advice. Obi-Wan thought.
It was late afternoon when they approached Jertes' village.
Whereas the forest clan appeared prosperous, these people were
near decimated. Crops were withered, the soil cracked and dry.
The natives bustled about with earthern jars, desperately
seeking clean water not fouled by mud. There was a general
appearance of desperation, and dulllness showed in their eyes.
Hot rage burned in Obi-Wan at the sight.
"Sssssss."
Jerte stared. For the first time she was afraid. What am I
dealing with here? Perhaps the old one was right.
"Jerte, where are the elders of your village?"
"This way, Lord. They await you."
They walked through the muddy streets to awestruck stares of
villagers who stood back. Obi-Wan noticed the haughty demeanor
of Jerte had disappeared.
In fact she was crestfallen. He touched her face. "Jerte?"
"Sorry, Lord. My people are desperate, and have suffered a long
time."
He squeezed her hand. "Then we'll help them."
She brightened a bit. "We're almost there. See, atop that hill?
The sheltering is there."
He saw a huge thatched hut. They walked up the sandy pathway
and went inside. A circle of elders sat, rising in
acknowledgement and wonder.
A tall individual with a massive headdress spoke first. "I am
grand elder Jandu. Greetings, Great one. Our council session
here consists of Shekht, Illeum, Ofaz, Tobu, Nakk, and Prel."
Obi-Wan stepped forward. "Greetings, all. I was told of your
difficulty. I shall help if I can."
Jandu nodded. "As you can see we suffer greatly. These
conditions have existed for a year."
"What happened to all the water? From what I've seen, rivers
still flow."
"They do Lord Oban, but not within several days walk from here.
About a year ago the grounds rebelled, bringing many stones
down upon our waterways. We have been unable to unblock them.
It is never ending, our long treks for water. By the time we
return here more crops have died."
"How far to where the water is blocked?"
"The first blockage is not far from here. Our trackers will
show you" he waved at a young man. He nodded, ducking out of
the hut.
"They will attend you, Lord Oban" Shekht stated.
Obi-Wan nodded. "Good. Let's get started. I'd like for you to
come as well."
Tabu spoke, her grizzled features grim. "We are somewhat aged
for such a journey, Lord."
"Hmm" he thought a moment. "We fly, then."
They all looked about, stunned. "Lord Oban! What-" Jandu began.
He smiled, waving at them. "Come outside."
Jerte closed to his side. "I have never been flying!"
I'm not sure I have, either. But I landed here so it's
probable.
"You'll like it. Everybody outside, now."
The Council came out of the hut in mute expectation. Jandu held
up his hand, addressing the others.
"Venerated Council! Truly a day for our annals as we fly with
our god! Truly is Oban great."
Murmurs in amazement. Jerte was wild with excitement.
"Gladly will I fly anywhere with you, Lord Oban!"
"Point me in the direction. Get ready, everybody."
The group levitated from the ground, moving rapidly into the
sky. In open awe their eyes went wide. They looked about in
wonder at their village below. Underneath their ascent, the
natives fell to their knees, pointing.
They went high over the countryside, over meadows and sloping
valleys. Off in the distance they could see the fringes of the
forest lands.
"That way, Lord!!" Prel shouted in the wind, pointing in
exhilaration.
Jerte held her arms out. "See, I am a bird. No wings, I fly!!"
she was giddy.
Obi-Wan smiled. Ahead he could see waterways weaving in thready
directions. As they approached, he shouted warning.
"Feet under you!"
They stood vertically as they descended. Obi-Wan could see the
blockages in the streams. Overflow had bogged the land. He
levitated the group towards a small hill.
They touched down. Obi-Wan peered at the distressed
countryside.
"It seems simple enough" Obi-Wan told them. "Looks like you've
had a major avalanche or earthquake in this area."
Nakk was curious. "What is an avalanche?"
"It's when the ground shakes and breaks open, destroying and
damaging the land."
"Ah. It was a severe one. Many were killed."
Obi-Wan addressed them. "I'm going to fly over and smash those
boulders. Stay here, you'll be safe."
Jerte ran to his side. "I want to go with you."
"No. I'll be back shortly."
"Thank fate you are here" Ofaz nodded. "Go, mighty one. We
shall wait."
Obi-Wan flew off, leaving them staring. Jandu turned to Jerte.
"You have done well. Has Oban chosen?"
She stared at the skies. "I am not sure. Errin of the forest
clan thinks to be queen as well."
Illeum. "Perhaps he will stay where he has a hand in renewal."
They all watched the flying figure. "Perhaps" Jandu wondered.
Free of prying eyes and random thoughts, Obi-Wan roared in the
wind. Now was a time for power. He looked below and began
blasting away at broken hillsides and monstrous boulders. They
were reduced to ash and sand. Miles of water began to cascade
freely. He flew further along the damaged lands, re-routing the
waters by blasting huge channels in the raw earth. A years'
worth of blockage was undone. The river piled into it's
previous bed, careening for miles back towards the village.
From their viewpoint the Council watched, speechless.
"It is...wondrous, a marvel" Tobu stated. "Our village will
prosper now!"
Jerte said nothing. She had visions of being queen. Obi-Wan
swung wide, flying back towards the river village. There was
damage to be undone. A gesture. Muddy streets dried out,
sprouting lush grass. Crops filled in and rejuvinated. Children
splashed and played in sweet clear water running in brooks.
Obi-Wan felt flush. I am power.
Let none stand before you.
Obi-Wan nearly dropped. "What??" he shouted in the wind.
Where'd that thought come from?
You have done well.
Who are you?
Your family. We are the Gods who reside in the heavens, and
are pleased at your deeds.
Why am I on this world?
You were exploring the universe and were injured in flight.
Your memory was damaged. We will heal you and restore it.
What is my name?
You are Obi-Wan, heir to the vault of heaven. I am your
father, Kretth. I am Lord of the Skies.
Obi-Wan thought a moment. I can't stay here, father.
No. Such a pale existence is not for a god. Your time with
them grows short. We will meet soon.
I look forward to it. Something calls me away from this
place.
You are far above this plane. Worry not. Soon, my son. Very
soon.
Obi-Wan smiled in satisfaction. He flew towards the waiting
Council.
"Look! He returns!" Jerte pointed.
Shekht nodded. "We see, girl. And the rivers are restored."
Obi-Wan landed among them. They sensed a difference.
"The water flows towards the village and your people will be
fine. Shall we go?"
They were somewhat taken aback by his abruptness. Falling to
their knees, they bowed low.
"Great Oban" Jandu began. "Words cannot express our gratitude.
State your wish and it is yours."
"Get up already" Obi-Wan grew increasingly annoyed at the
adulation.
Confused, they stood. "Have we angered-"
He held up a hand. "Listen. There's something you should know.
I've been contacted."
That caught their attention. "Who contacted you, Oban?"
Jandu wondered.
"My father spoke to me from the heavens. Other gods will come
soon. They will restore my full memory."
Jerte couldn't believe. "You...will not stay, Lord Oban?"
"Obi-Wan. My true name is Obi-Wan. My father rules the skies
and will arrive before too long."
They looked at each other, mulling that over. Finally, Nakk
spoke.
"Then...it is imperative that we return to the village.
Preparations must be made. It is only proper."
Obi-Wan nodded. "Let's go then." The group went airborne again.
As they flew back, Jerte was somewhat subdued. She knew somehow
she had lost Obi-Wan.
"Fool. You were warned."
Qui-Gon stood in his living room smiling savagely in triumph.
He wrapped his cloak and cowl about himself, preparing to
depart.
Arrogant idiot. Your mental contact with Obi-Wan allowed me
to track you both much faster. Perhaps I will show gratitude
and rip your throat again.
Swirling a gesture, he disappeared in a clap of fiery thunder.
Ha ha ha....
The day waned. True to his word, Obi-Wan returned to the forest
tribe. He accepted a days' worth of adulation to the limits of
his tolerance. The Council of the River Clan went with him to
announce the news of rejuvenation in person to their forest
brethren.
It was a huge celebration. The elders of both Clans passed food
while the young people danced. Fires were everywhere as the
aroma of smoked meat filled the skies.
Obi-Wan and Errin sat at a small fire near the elders' hut.
"I worried, Lord Obi-Wan" Errin told him. "It occured to me you
would remain with the River people."
He pulled at her braids. "Didn't you believe me? I had no
intention of staying there. I merely wanted to help. And now
that other gods will come-"
She looked away. "They will take you from us. I know."
He stared at her. "How do you know this?"
"You've been different since your return. Distant. As if the
stars call you."
"They do" he admitted. "I must return there. But I can't until
I am healed."
"Lord, I must speak from the heart. I...wish to be looked upon
with favor. Should you leave I would go with you" her round
face was open.
He felt a pang. It wouldn't and couldn't work. "Errin. I...like
you. But until my memory is complete, there's no way I can make
any promises. My world is so different. And right now I don't
even remember it."
She sighed, leaning into him. "I understand. It must frighten
you, not knowing much about yourself."
He was amazed at her insight. "True. Sometimes I almost feel
out of control, and I don't know why."
"They will heal you."
The two sat quietly for a while. Obi-Wan edged closer to Errin,
catching her scent. Soft skin, sweet blood. He felt a familiar
rolling sensation in his gut. The hunger.
"Ssssss."
Errin sat back. Her eyes widened in horror.
"Lord Obi-Wan, your face!"
"What about my face"
"You...look like a demon!"
Shock and realization hit him. He felt sharp teeth against his
tongue.
"I must leave you now, Errin!"
"I-I don't understand what is happening-" she stammered.
He bounded to his feet. The thirst began to overwhelm his
reason.
I won't harm you, Errin. Never!!" he turned and
ran into the woods.
Errin sat stunned. "There is much you must discover" she
whispered. "As must I."
Dazedly, she returned to the celebration.
He ran like the wind.
Thoughtless, heedless. Barefoot still in his uni-suit. Wild
need burned in his veins. Silvery nails lengthened as he
bounded into the night.
He caught a scent. It was one of his abilities he hadn't
focused on at all, until now. Musk and cinnamon wafted across
the deep wood. An enticing, erotic scent. He slowed, feeling
strangely calm all of a sudden.
I'm not alone.
He looked about, wondering. A blood scent now. Peering into the
darkness he saw a wild pig, freshly killed. Slowly he
approached it, speeding up again as the hunger flared. Dropping
to his knees he sank into the throat, drinking deeply. Inhuman
feet padded nearby.
When he had finished glutting Obi-Wan sat back, looking up at
the sparkling sky. He couldn't shake the sense that he was
being followed. Near bursting with his feast he lay against a
tree, sated. His eyes closed momentarily. Then something
occured to him. His eyes popped open.
Wait a minute. How is it a kill is here just waiting for me?
It wasn't touched. No predator would just leave their food
unattended.
In confusion he looked about the grove. His eyes roamed to the
top of a high hill. He froze.
Against the full moon he saw a fearsome wolf, deep gold and
glinting. Feral blue eyes unnaturally pale. Sitting and
watching him like a sentinel of darkness.
Obi-Wan couldn't stop staring at the creature. The wolf was
magnificent. The broad head was angled and strong. It moved
towards him.
For some reason Obi-Wan didn't move. Musk and cinnamon
assaulted his senses again. Sexual fragrance. His body
tightened up in response.
"Crazy" he breathed to himself. "This animal is giving me a
hard on!"
"AAAaaaaOOOOO!!"
The wolf abruptly turned, running off into the dark. The thick
tail wagged high in invitation.
"Hey!" Obi-Wan stood abuptly, swaying from fullness. Unthinking
he ran after it. His cock stiffened as he sped through the
trees.
"Damn" Obi-Wan gasped, holding his crotch. He could barely run,
balls bursting with tightness. Nipples grew tender, straining
against heavy denim.
It's worse than I can remember. Going to explode...
His thighs tightened up. "Madness" he managed. His cock was
swelling rapidly, making a prominent bulge in his uni-suit. He
massaged it vigorously. Still worse. He swore, leaning against
a thick trunk.
Furred feet padded around the tree. In shock Obi-Wan stared
down at the huge wolf. It was even more impressive up close.
The muzzle was strong, housing prominent teeth.
He couldn't move. Sheer fascination had stolen his motion. In
utter amazement he watched the wolf move toward him again. The
powerful head went low and licked his feet.
The sensations were ticklish and arousing.
"What are you" Obi-Wan breathed. Unthinking, he stroked the
strong jaws and muzzle, tickling between tall ears.
//Your heart knows though your memory suffers.//
"I don't...you aren't the voice I heard before. He was my
father, Kretth."
//He is a liar, and an enemy. He wishes to use you for
his own ends.//
The wolf continued to lick his feet. Obi-Wan squirmed under the
sensual assault. "How...do I know you aren't lying."
//Lie to my own child, Obi-Wan? What for.//
"You know my name" his hands scrabbled through the thick fur.
Sudden insight dawned.
"That pig. You left it there. For me!"
The furred head looked up at him. //I will always provide
for you when you need me.//
"Who are you!!"
The form below him shifted, changing shape. Obi-Wan held
Qui-Gon in his arms.
He gawked, trying to make sense of it all. Green eyes blank.
Qui-Gon looked heartsick. "Obi-Wan-" What has happened to
you?
"I..." he pulled back. Touched the regal features, took in ice
blue eyes that bored through him. Stroked the goatee and high
cheekbones. Thumbed the full lips.
He walked around Qui-Gon, who stood very still. Obi-Wan noticed
the thick horse braid tucked into the heavy cowl. He pulled it
free, marvelling at the length and texture.
Something...this is familiar.
He inhaled it, sliding the length along his face like a coil.
Cinnamon and musk. Burned into his mind.
The dreams I had...
He took up the two big hands, studying them. Wide and
strong...
Ran his own hands over the powerful body he could sense
underneath heavy fabric. Muscle and musk.
Emerald eyes were too bright. "I should know you" he whispered,
voice shaking.
Qui-Gon couldn't stand anymore. He crushed his son to his
chest, kissing him with fire.
Obi-Wan wrapped his own muscled arms around the taller figure,
pulling him down into the tall grass. This felt natural, right.
"How you feel, your scent...I had dreams, flashbacks" Obi-Wan
said in his ear, breathless. "But I couldn't see your face."
Qui-Gon nuzzled the smooth neck. "Shush, child. I will heal
you. Nothing in this universe could keep me from your side."
Obi-Wan kissed him again, tasting the flavor of the smooth
lips, familiarizing himself. Down the strong throat he nipped.
Qui-Gon groaned, rolling him over. Obi-Wan slipped hot hands
inside the heavy cloak, pulling it off the broad shoulders. He
sucked on the fat nipples. Qui-Gon cried out, arching. Obi-Wan
smiled, pulling down the cloak and exposing the big body. He
licked across the broad chest.
I remember...how this tastes...
Strong hands teased the muscled buttocks, sliding along the
crevice. Qui-Gons' eyes were lidded, looking at him with lust.
He snaked his tongue at Obi-Wan with hot eyes.
Obi-Wan slid his tongue out in response, teasing the tip of the
other. He tore off his uni-suit, cock bobbing tightly in the
air. Qui-Gon pumped him, sensuously sliding hips underneath.
"Come with me" Qui-Gon growled, fangs bared.
"Kiss me now."
Knowing and not knowing, Obi-Wan plunged into the strong
throat, sucking hotly. Qui-Gons' eyes rolled back in ecstacy as
he moaned in delight. Obi-Wan blacked out briefly as the
sensations overwhelmed him. He blinked, finding himself on his
back in the grass, looking up at Qui-Gon. The impossible mane
was loose and everywhere, hanging down in a curtain around them
both. The fine face was feral and savage as he pulled open the
golden thighs. Snarling, Obi-Wan matched wild for wild. Legs
thrown high, he knew what he wanted. Clawlike nails dug into
the muscled arms as he pulled his lover in.
Qui-Gon plowed inside the hot opening, hammering Obi-Wan into
the grass. Strong hands raked his back as Obi-Wan bucked
underneath. His vision was obscured by the tousled mane falling
into his face. Cinnamon and musk. He was filled, whole.
Pleasure burst through his skin. His blood boiled like nothing
he remembered. Hot and wet, Qui-Gon arched over him before
lunging at his throat. His turn now. He drank deeply.
Obi-Wan was too aroused to think anymore. His painful cock was
squashed, flopping between slick bellies. Legs wrapped around
Qui-Gon as he rode high...
Stabs of flame danced across his eyes as his mind lost focus
and his body wracked in a spreading glow...
Sweating, straining. He felt his lover, felt himself. Flesh
slapping wetly, faster and faster. They both began to spurt.
Impressions and memories flooded him.
"Ggghkk....fath...QUI-GON!!!" he screeched, bouncing and
splattering thickly.
Qui-Gon roared, wrenching as he climaxed. Obi-Wan continued to
wrack underneath him, coming and howling like a banshee.
Qui-Gon fired over and over into the tight heat that gripped
him.
"Yesssss" he growled deeply, eyes glowing.
"Father...remember everything" he passed out.
Qui-Gon collapsed over him.
The Nightstalker set down in a secluded patch of wood a
fair distance from either village clan. The two Sith stepped
out into the cool air.
"Ah" Krydd looked about. "Such a lovely world. Eventually it
will be suitable for Empire rule."
Palpatine snorted. "Ha! Give or take a few millennia. But we
have a more pressing agenda."
Krydd stooped low, running rich soil between his fingers. "So.
How to approach the little grass runners?"
"You know the routine. We appear suddenly, introduce ourselves
as resident gods. I do relish the opportunity to influence
people in a fashion that will span ages."
Krydd struck a pose. "Do you think I'd make a good idol?"
"With that jawline? Perfect!!" Palpatine chortled.
"We'd best find a good location for our 'appearance'. The more
dramatic the better."
Palpatine nodded, turning to go. "Yes, simplistic people always
respond to the grandiose. Let us be off."
They moved ponderously through the wood.
In another region of the dense forest two glistening figures
twined under the moonlight.
Obi-Wan strained to focus his eyes and mind. "I didn't know if
this was it for me or not" he trembled. "Didn't even know if
I'd ever regain my memory."
Qui-Gon still lay atop him. He turned his head to cuddle.
"Sshh, Obi. It is enough" moist eyes leaned against the smooth
cheek.
Obi-Wan shook harder. The emotional and psychic breakthrough
had taken its' toll. He burst into tears uncontrollably.
Qui-Gon drew him up, crushing the heaving body close. His own
eyes began to run.
"Let it come, Obi" he rasped, his own voice shaking with
emotion. He peppered crazed kisses over the handsome face,
tasting salty tears.
Obi-Wan breathed heavily, straining for control. "I'll be
fine...now. But even in my confusion I knew something wasn't
right about what Palpatine told me."
"He thinks to score a coup and present you to the Empire."
Adrenaline replaced tears. So did anger. "Ssssss. The fool. I'm
no prize to be presented to his lackeys."
They propped up against a tree. Qui-Gon wrapped his cloak
around them both. He pecked his son on the nose.
"Well, you are a prize. In any case, he thinks I haven't
found you yet. He taunted me through the force."
"Really? What did-"
Both vampyres stiffened suddenly, looking up.
"So. He is here."
"And not alone" Qui-Gon noted. "Not that it matters."
Obi-Wan buried his face in the nest of hair, inhaling. "He
musn't be allowed to harm any of the natives."
Qui-Gon stroked his shoulders. "True. It would be his style to
attempt hostages."
Obi-Wan attempted to get up. "We've got to-"
Muscled arms held a grip of iron. "Stay. Later."
"I can't allow him to..."
Long fingers stroked his forehead before he could react. His
eyelids drooped.
Qui-Gon smiled, purred him to sleep. You need more healing,
child.
They awoke to a beautiful dawn. Obi-Wan looked up through the
treetops. The woods were full of whistles, peeps, roars, and
various other sounds of the forest denizens.
His head was tucked tightly under Qui-Gons'. A thought occured
to him as they cuddled quietly in his fathers' robes.
"Interesting. I couldn't know the difference before, but since
I've been here the daylight hasn't been too much of a problem."
"I sensed as much also. The ultraviolet rays here are
considerably weaker than on most worlds. A boon to be certain."
Obi-Wan played with the long hair, pulling it around them both.
"Oh. I want to sleep some more" long red lashes fluttered.
Qui-Gon watched him with concern. "No. Stay awake a while,
Obi-Wan."
Emerald eyes were bright. "Why? I have my memory back."
Qui-Gon touched his cheek. "True. But I still sense brain
trauma. There is some small damage to the tissues."
"But really, I feel fine."
"That may be so. But you aren't recovered yet, and I don't want
any unecessary chances taken."
Obi-Wan gave a wan smile. "I am healed. When we made
love-"
"The mental energy we exchanged accelerated the healing process
your body had begun. But you musn't sleep yet."
He propped himself up slowly. His body felt draggy, heavy.
"But I want to sleep" he slurred. His eyes rolled back
as he leaned into Qui-Gon.
"Obi-Wan!!" Qui-Gon shook him hard.
"Ughh."
Slap. Again.
Obi-Wan sat up rubbing his face. He blinked.
"I remember something else now. My transformations...they were
out of control."
Qui-Gon sat up alongside him. "And that is precisely why I am
concerned. The brain damage was a factor in that. You must stay
awake awhile so your body can continue to heal your mind."
"Need to...get dressed then" Obi-Wan was still foggy. He
staggered up.
Qui-Gon couldn't help but smile. Looking at his son in such a
state reminded him of past adventures. Different circumstances,
of course.
"Don't you plan to get dressed, or at least make some clothes?
Or do you intend to make our skirmish more interesting?"
Obi-Wan looked at him dazedly. "Skirmish?"
"Palpatine, Obi-Wan. Don't you remember?" Qui-Gons' concern
returned.
"Palpatine!!" Obi-Wan hissed, growing angry. "I'll drive him
off this planet!"
Qui-Gon nodded in satisfaction. The anger would fuel his
alertness. Irritated, Obi-Wan circled a gesture about himself,
fabricating new clothing.
"You don't wish to wear your uni-suit?"
"No. I've worn it for a week. Tired of looking at it" new
clothing complete, he stood ready for anything.
Qui-Gon eyed him approvingly. He had chosen well. Obi-Wan had
fashioned himself a deep grey battle uniform with black boots
and red sash at the waist. Tailored to emphasize the shoulders
and waist. The pants fit the full thighs snugly.
Emerald eyes flashed with fire. "You make a fine sight nude,
father. Not practical for fighting however!"
"You don't think I'd be a distraction?" Qui-Gon teased.
Obi-Wan pulled him up. Fangs peeked over the ruddy lips. "You
are" he breathed. "If I weren't so angry at Palpatine I would-"
Qui-Gon smothered his lips in a kiss. "Go first, I will
follow."
"Why?"
"The natives know you. Palpatine isn't the only one who can
make a dramatic entrance. Besides, I like being the wild card."
Obi-Wan frowned in thought. "He isn't alone, either."
"Who cares? I have an idea. Pretend that you still don't have
your memory."
"What will that do?"
Ice blue eyes blazed. "Make him lower his guard. Maybe I'll rip
his throat again. He requested another kiss."
Obi-Wan stuck his tongue out in disgust. "Bah. Like kissing
deadwood and worms."
Qui-Gon picked up his cloak and cowl. "True. But he's very
tasty."
"I'm still not sure pretense is the way to go-"
Qui-Gon looked like a pagan god, the ridiculous train of hair
full of leaves and flower petals. He held his cloak and cowl.
"No, it's perfect. Better to have his so-called victory ripped
from him. I want him to be made a fool of as well. Let him
suffer another bitter defeat. He taunted me, and so I will
taunt him."
Obi-Wan reached out and pulled the thick cock that bobbed at
him.
"Problems in the meantime, father?" he grinned.
"Sssssss. Easy. I may strip you and throw you to the ground."
Obi-Wan kissed the strong throat. "I'll see you later" he
breathed, pausing to look over the impressive pillar of flesh.
Lidded eyes burned on him. "Get going before you can't. I will
observe first and then decide the best time to make my grand
entrance."
Obi-Wan nodded. Making a sweeping gesture he disappeared in a
peal of thunder.
Qui-Gon sat in a lotus position of concentration. "Methinks
Palpatine is in for a difficult time."
They were stunned, shocked. Preparations had not been made.
Natives from both clans dotted the riverbanks by the hundreds.
Atop a low hill sat two robed figures, grim and dark. The
respective Councils of the River and Forest clan both circled
them.
"You have cared well for my son Obi-Wan, the God of Thunder"
Palpatine said dramatically. "But I don't sense him here."
The grand elders, Bikk and Jandu sat nearest. Bikk spoke first.
"Indeed, Lord Kretth. But we have not seen him since yesterday.
Our Errin was with him last" he waved, indicated the young
woman nearby. Palpatine eyed her.
Wench. A distraction from his true glory.
Krydd spoke. "You prosper well at the river now" this was
directed at Jandu.
Jandu nodded. "You are aware of this, Lord Tiber?"
"I rule all waters, from the tiniest raindrop to the greatest
ocean."
"Then you are as proud as we are grateful. Obi-Wan saved my
people from certain starvation and illness." Ibut sidled
alongside Errin some distance away. "Are you alright? With the
gods in conclave with our elders, surely wondrous events will
happen now!"
She sighed. "Remember what I told you about Lord Obi-Wan? I
hope he isn't sick."
Ibut shook his head. "Then he will heal himself. Have faith!"
"That's right girl. You've already lost him anyway."
They turned. Jerte strutted over, fur wraps tight on curvaceous
hips.
Ibut stared. "What do you about here. Go over there with the
others!"
"I think not. I would witness this conclave as well" long
fingers flicked at wisps of hair.
"River trash!!" Errin re-emphasized. "Go lie down on the banks
and give turns. We have no interest in your nonsense."
Jerte patted a knife at her side. "I wonder what prospects you
would have shorn of all those pretty braids."
Ibut stood. "Leave now. Or I will toss you."
Jerte snorted. "When I am queen we shall see who gets
tossed!"
She stalked off in a huff.
"Queen of the dogs!!" Errin shouted after her. "And I'd be more
than happy to use your pelt as a rug!"
There was wild laughter among many at the shorelines. They
enjoyed the entertainment.
A heavyset man spoke up. "Ha! So Errin has plans for the gods
herself, eh?"
Errin put her nose up. "Enough, Oblu. Go stuff your face some
more."
A rail thin woman laughed out loud. "Bots, it would be worth it
to see them fight. Jerte has it coming."
LET ALL ATTEND.
They felt it in their minds, a resonating thought. The command
to attention. Somber silence permeated the riverbanks as the
natives stared at the hill, awed.
"Did you hear-"
"Words were in my head."
"The gods command audience."
"Silence! They would speak."
They sat in rapt attention. The two grand elders addressed
everyone first.
Bikk. "Let both the River and Forest Clans know. A new era is
upon us as Lord Kretth, ruler of the heavens and Lord Tiber,
ruler of the waterways have come to give us guidance. All will
prosper."
A mile or so off, Obi-Wan clouded his presence from the Sith. A
small, seemingly harmless wild deer poked about in the woods.
/Arrogant bastards. They have no use for these people. It's me
they want./
The fawn marched over to the edge of the riverbank. It was
spied.
"Ho! A good meal" one shouted. "I'll get my spear."
Obi-Wan shifted in front of the startled warrior. He fell to
his knees.
That's one thing I won't miss. These people are gonna
dislocate their legs at this rate.
"Rise, warrior. I've no problem with you."
"Forgive me Lord Obi-Wan" the man stammered. "I...we are in
attendance of the great gathering."
Obi-Wan nodded. "I saw the activity along the riverbanks. Why
are you so far away?"
"I am late. I was one of the last to leave the village."
Obi-Wan stared off into the distance at the winding crowd along
the waterways. The hill with the Sith and Elders atop it was
even further away.
"What is your name, warrior?"
The man stood tall. "Mungroo, Lord. I witnessed your magic days
ago when you restored the rivers."
Obi-Wan put a hand on his shoulder. "Go on, join the others."
"Shall I tell anyone of your arrival?"
"No, not yet. I wish it to be a surprise."
Mungroo nodded. "I understand. Such is the way of the gods" he
raced off without looking back.
He shifted his form again. A small fawn meekly approached the
throng.
Qui-Gon had debated his appearance several times. He tried
different fabrics, styles and colors. Nothing was appropriate.
He looked at his reflection in the lake, changing his dress
along with his mind.
"No. No, not this. Need something else. It's all wrong."
Stormy blue eyes darkened further. He thought a moment.
Why not just go with my mood?
And so he stopped thinking. As he did the air grew warmer and
whipped around him. The tempest picked up speed and velocity.
Leaves, branches and stones flew about in the storm.
He closed his eyes. Anger. Revenge. Fury.
Suddenly the meadow was still. Opening his eyes he smiled at
his appearance. He wore an all black, ninja-style battle suit
underneath a scarlet cloak and cowl. His hair was glossy and
slicked back, neatly braided into the absurdly long horsetail.
A gold hoop graced each ear. Eyes glinting infernal red to
match his cloak.
Ha ha ha.
Pleased with his look he laughed diabolically, cloak billowing
in a wild wind.
"Who says Palpatine is the only one over the
top!!"
He levitated over the meadow. Soon, very soon.
Palpatine and Krydd continued to drone on about everything and
nothing to the assembled crowd. They spoke of prosperous
families and hunting. Of good times and fun for the children.
The crowd whooped and saluted in reverence. The small fawn
continued to tip through startled onlookers.
"Look, Peegri" one native pointed. "Have you ever seen a wild
deer behave in such a manner?"
His companion shook his head. "No. It is bizarre. How such a
timid creature would walk from the woods among us!"
Obi-Wan continued to draw curious stares and murmurs as he
weaved through endless natives.
/Don't see anyone I know yet. The knuckleheads are still
babbling on./
Ears pricked, nose scented. Over there.
Off about a hundred feet he spied Ibut and Errin amidst a group
of natives who were keenly listening to Palpatine.
He picked his way over to them. Startled, a thickset woman
cried out.
"See, now! A wild deer walks this way as if in greeting."
Ibut stared, legs crossed. "It is passing strange. The creature
almost appears to recognize us. Madness."
More stares in wonderment. "A sign" someone mumured in the
crowd.
"A messenger of Lord Kretth" said one.
"It is bewitched" said another.
The fawn lowered it's head, licking the feet of Ibut.
Amazed, he scratched between the dainty ears. Bright green eyes
fixed on him.
Errin sidled over. "Oh! Such a delicate thing. And unafraid"
she touched the moist nose. The fawn nuzzled her.
"A pretty one, too" the thickset woman commented. "But what
could bring it here in such a fashion?"
"I know not, Durbi" Ibut answered her. "There are no droughts
in the forest. "
Errin continued to stare at the animal. "I've never seen the
like. Pretty eyes, like the color of the forests" she choked,
remembering those words.
Ibut remembered them as well. It was his description of Obi-Wan
when they first met. In shock he looked at her."You don't
think-"
The fawn bleated.
Durbi waddled over. "Think what? It is only a deer" she patted
the small head.
Appearances are deceiving, no?
Durbi nearly fell over in fright. "Who said that??!" she
shouted.
The throng backed away from the fawn. They all 'heard' it.
"I knew it!" Errin declared. "It is he!!"
>From a distance, Palpatine and Krydd squinted down the
riverbanks at the disruption.
"What occurs there" Palpatine wanted to know.
Krydd strained his eyes as well. "Clearly some commotion down
on the banks. I would know the cause. Bikk, Jandu. Command your
people to attend in respect while we investigate."
Bikk stood, looking over the distracted crowd. "It will be
done, Lord. "I cannot imagine-"
Jandu's eyes were keen. "Something comes this way. See how our
people part."
It was true. In waves they moved aside as a small fawn walked
along the shoreline, seemingly of single minded purpose. Errin
and Ibut were close behind.
Center stage. Time for one hell of an acting job.
"What nonsense is this!" Palpatine demanded, seated atop a nest
of tree roots. "This much calamity over an animal! And why do
those two follow it!"
Bikk shook his head, raised his stick. "Hold!" he shouted down
as they approached. "Errin, Ibut. Explain this action. You dare
interrupt our gods with this disruption!"
They approached the lower slope of the hill to silent
onlookers. The two young people stood on either side of the
fawn.
"Elder, it is no disruption but a providence!" Ibut declared.
"We bring this fawn-"
Krydd nodded, cutting him off. "Ah. An offer of sacrifice. It
is appropriate, then. So tender, too."
Palpatine nodded. "Venison smoked openly is a delectable meal.
You have chosen well, and we are pleased."
Idiots. Talk about clueless. But not for long.
Errin spoke up then. "No, lords. You misunderstand. This is no
ordinary deer" she turned to Palpatine. "You would see your
son, Lord of the Heavens. I tell you he is here!!"
Murmurs in the crowd.
Palpatine waved at her. "Dear child, you are mistaken. I would
know if Obi-Wan were about. I can assure you that-"
"He is here " the fawn shifted. There was a
collective gasp of shock and recognition.
Ibut and Errin kneeled at his side. Obi-Wan stood defiantly,
radiating power. Palpatine and Krydd were taken aback. They
stared, stunned. Finally a slow smile crept over the cracked
features of the Sith ruler.
"So. My son has returned" the ugly eyes glowed. "It is most
pleasing and well overdue."
Obi-Wan remembered the game. "I am your son? You seem familiar,
but-"
"Do not concern yourself" Krydd put in. "When we return to the
heavens we shall heal you. All will be restored."
"And you are?"
"I am your uncle Lord Tiber. I rule the waterways."
Do they believe their own crap? Sith goobers.
"It is truly a providence, then" elder Kewll agreed. "Think
lords, of the circumstances that have brought you here. The
young ones have done well in recovering the prince."
"Most appreciative I am" Palpatine gave an affected smile.
"When our rule is in place you will eventually be rewarded.
Meanwhile, I would embrace the prodigal son."
I'd rather kiss a rotting Hutt.
Obi-Wan stepped grandly up the hill and stood in front of
Palpatine and Krydd. The elders watched approvingly. It was all
he could do to keep from strangling the Sith.
Palpatine and Krydd looked him over. Fine as hell were
their dark thoughts.
"That uniform most nearly resembles-" Palpatine stuttered. He
caught himself.
Krydd thought the same thing. That uniform. It looks
almost...like an imperial officer's.
Palpatine stood slowly, dramatically opening his arms. "Come
and kiss your dear father."
Obi-Wans' stomach clenched. Looks like the show...
He moved in, hugging Palpatine hard and pecking his neck. As he
moved to back away Palpatine pulled him in close again. The
slime colored eyes were on him roughly.
Shid. Nasty bastard.
Thin, dry lips pressed hard against his. A cold and oily tongue
pushed inside. He could vaguely sense Krydd's desire as well.
Lucky for him I can't throw up. Obi-Wan endured as much
as he could then yanked back.
"You will excuse me, but my memory-"
Palpatine panted. "Understood, my son. When we are home I shall
attend all your needs."
Krydd's hands were suspiciously over his lap. "There is no need
for haste, now" he eyed Obi-Wan down low.
Jandu shouted at the crowd. "Heed the new dawn! Our lords are
reunited! Raise the cry!" he thrust his staff high.
Fists raised by the thousands, a thunderous cheer ringed the
skies. Obi-Wan turned, facing them. He saw Jerte weaving her
way through. Her eyes never left him.
Krydd and Palpatine sat on their 'throne' of roots as the
natives shouted to the heavens.
//Simpletons.//
//Indeed. But I can be gracious now. Obi-Wan is ours.//
//I look forward to his 'education' in the ways of the Sith.//
//Hmm. Luscious, intelligent, powerful. A mix impossible to
resist. I intend to plumb his delights.//
Obi-Wan stood dutifully at their side. His mind was suddenly
assaulted with an image.
Palpatine over him. Thin, leathery and withered. Pounding him
from behind as the oily eyes were rolled back in ecstacy. Cloak
and cowl loose and open over the bony shoulders, the clawlike
hands digging into his back.
"Ssssss!!"
He nearly bit him at the thought. Must hold on to this
pretense a little longer.
Another image. Krydd driving him on his back, big belly
slapping him like a slippery pig. Grunting in pleasure, his
soft behind jiggling.
One gross extreme to the other. he curled a lip in
disgust.
"Father, what happened to your face? Were you in an accident?"
it was deliberate.
Palpatine spluttered. "What say you, that I am not fair? Well
should you know what is important!"
Glad to tick you off. Dried up freak. Obi-Wan grinned
smugly.
Krydd spoke in undertone to Palpatine. "If it weren't for his
memory loss, I'd swear he was being insolent."
Palpatine snorted. "Kneel at my side as we are celebrated,
Obi-Wan. I would see these natives know we are unified in
thought and purpose."
Biting his tongue, Obi-Wan kneeled at the tree roots. The
elders continued to spearhead their rally.
Enough is enough, and I've had a belly full-
"Hold!" Elder Shehkt yelled. "Look, all. The skies!!"
Thousands of pairs of eyes looked upward. The air was rapidly
growing darker, almost night like.
"Witchcraft" horrified whispers echoed along the riverbanks.
The wind picked up, gusting wildly in all directions. A cool
drizzle came in a steady downpour. Not quite rain, a falling
mist.
>From their vantage point, Errin and Ibut stared at the
strange circumstances.
"What is it" Ibut wondered. "Could this be a portent?"
Durbi sat nearby. "But why? Surely our gods will provide now.
If-"
Her words and all thought were cut off by a sounding peal in
the atmosphere. Further up front Jerte stared at Obi-Wan, who
was looking upward expectantly.
He knows something. her hair whipped in the wild wind.
The elders spoke amongst themselves and their 'gods'.
Xoov. "This is not good. Such a sudden storm-"
The skies had turned the darkest grey, monochromatic and
monotonous.
Krydd looked at Palpatine. "Is this planet subject to such
storms?"
Tobu answered. "It is unnatural. Never have storms appeared in
this manner. It is too sudden, too intense."
Obi-Wan sensed something. He smiled faintly, staring at the eye
of the storm.
"There is nothing to fear" Palpatine told the elders. He noted
the increasing restlessness and uncertainty along the
shorelines. Both clans were huddling en masse in the cold mist.
Palpatine stood and walked to the edge of the hill. "I will
address them myself!!""
KRAKOOM!
A deafening crack, and a blinding flash that illuminated the
shores for miles around.
Krydd shouted into the wild wind. "This is not our
doing!!"
No, scum. It is not.
Startlingly, an imposing figure appeared at the heart of the
storm, ringed with flame. The red cloak and cowl was a stark
contrast to the grey skies.
"You!!" Palpatine bellowed, rising to his feet.
The elders shouted in excitement over themselves. Illeum said
something first.
"Lords, what madness is this. Who is that dark one who suddenly
appears thus?"
Obi-Wan spared them a sideways glance. What now, liar.
Krydd yelled at the crimson figure. "You'll regret this
appearance, Qui-Gon! You've lost."
"Ha ha ha. Fool! We'll see what's lost."
Along the shorebanks, cries of "devil" raised. Jerte found the
entire sequence of events fascinating.
"What a one. Is he truly the dark god? Surely they shall battle
now!" she stated wonderingly.
An elderly man sat nearby. "Yeah, girl. Our lords will send him
back to the pits that spawned!!"
Murmurs of agreement.
"I for one will not go without a fight" a tall warrior
declared. "He dares to come here, seeking souls?"
"It is so!"
"But what can we do?"
Fear mixed with defiance among the clans. One thing to rail
against the gods, but how to stop them?
Durbi shook her head. "The lords of the skies will be
triumphant over the darkspawn from below."
"Rail on, then woman" the old man said to her. "But remember
this. We must survive their clash."
"We will, Ooek" Errin answered. "At least we see the threat for
what it is. Knowledge is power here."
Ibut placed his spear in his lap. "All must be ready. There is
no looking back."
Krydd had an idea. //Give them their devil, Kretth.//
Palpatine eyed him. The natives were in a word, restless. Both
groups of elders addressed them.
Xoov pointed up at Qui-Gon. "See there! He fouls the skies by
his presence. Lords, the choice is clear."
Qui-Gon glared at Palpatine. "Don't think to use these people,
either!"
Obi-Wan had stepped away, near the ledge of the hill. His long
braid whipped in the wind. Jerte was still forcing her way
forward.
"You have the power! Defeat the demon!" she shouted at him.
With his memory recovered, he had less interest in her. "Jerte,
stand back. There's going to be a battle."
She stood triumphant, misunderstanding. "Ah, I see! Victory,
then" she saluted.
"Quiet, fool!"
Jerte snapped her head back. Errin stalked forward. "We don't
need cheers. If the elders command it, we fight!"
Murmurs of assent. Shouts filled the air.
"Remember what I said" Krydd whispered.
Palpatine seized the moment. "See there, how the demon
threatens our peace! Attack, drive him back to the depths!"
"Coward!!" Qui-Gon roared from above. Obi-Wan tensed. Things
were about to get ugly.
Bikk and Jandu stood forward. In unison, they made a throat
slashing gesture.
The clans moved foward. The air rained with spears, stones, and
boomerangs. Fascinated, Obi-Wan watched events in slow motion.
They could teach stormtroopers a thing or two about
accuracy.
Qui-Gon shielded himself. "Afraid to face me yourself, Sith??!"
he challenged.
"All in good time" Palpatine growled. Bikk and Jandu stood
alongside him.
Bikk. "Return to the depths, devil! We'll not abide your
presence."
Qui-Gon looked at him. "What you think you know, you know not"
he pointed at Palpatine. "He is using you."
Jandu gave a jaded laugh. "I think not. You would disparage our
Lord? Be gone with you. No souls will you claim!"
"I'm here for my son. I'm not seeking souls."
"Your son???! Palpatine roared. "Hardly. Enough of this
nonsense. Attack, Obi-Wan. Bring glory back to the heavens!"
At last. Obi-Wan took to the air. The Clans cheered
loudly.
"Go, Lord of Thunder!"
"Surely the victory is ours now!"
"Ha! Now will that devil burn!"
But something strange happened. Instead of attacking, Obi-Wan
flew to his side.
Palpatine stuttered. "What...what are you doing?? Finish
him off!"
"Fool" Obi-Wan snapped. 'The game is over."
Jerte and Errin stood in shock. Jerte found her voice. "What.
He sides with the dark one??"
"It must be a trick" Errin said.
Ibut was near also. "The ways of the gods are strange. Still,
we fight."
Palpatine gave Obi-Wan an oily smile. "Why my dear boy. You are
merely confused. Destroy the enemy for your dear father."
"Gladly" Obi-Wan said, blasting him with an orange bolt of
energy.
"Treachery!!" Krydd screeched. His eyes began to glow. Green
threads of force flared out from his fingertips. It was
deflected.
Palpatine's cowl fell away, exposing his horrid features. There
was a collective gasp of shock.
"He is ugly!"
"What happened..."
"No Lord of light would look that way..."
The Sith stumbled up from the onslaught. "You little..." he
snarled. "You never lost your memory!!"
"A mental screen, Palpatine?" Obi-Wan asked. "No wonder these
people never questioned your appearance. They know now!"
Palpatine looked out at the masses, scarred features in full
view. The slimy eyes roamed the crowd.
"Hear your Lord. I command you to attack again!"
No one moved. Disillusionment and shock had taken over.
Jerte made a face. "What creature as that could claim the
light!"
"Over??" the greasy eyes rolled up. "I'll give you
'over,' whelp" he began to crackle with energy.
In fright, the elders stood away. "We have been deceived!" Puau
shouted.
"Yes, you pathetic fools!" Krydd yelled at them. He pulled out
a crimson saber.
That tears it Obi-Wan thought. Flying down, he pounced
on Krydd.
The natives were confused. Palpatine faced off with Qui-Gon. He
began to lift into the air.
"Your final chance to join me" he snarled.
"Then what, idiot" Qui-Gon snapped back.
"What goes here!!" a warrior shouted. "Light or dark, which
fights who?"
There was chaos along the banks, as the natives didn't know
what to believe. Angry shouts, promises of retribution.
Palpatine went for Qui-Gon. Bony fingers reached for his neck.
Below, Obi-Wan fought with Krydd. The Sith slashed at him with
his saber.
With inhuman speed Obi-Wan bounded back. "I don't have a
saber, Sith" he noted. "I'll have to make
one." a column of flame flared from his hand, shaped
like a sword.
Krydd blinked. "It will do you no good, stripling. Still will
you fall to our might" he slashed again. Obi-Wan parried.
The natives didn't know which battle to watch.
Meanwhile Palpatine attempted to choke Qui-Gon. The vampyre
dissolved in his hands.
"Ha!" Palpatine bellowed in triumph. "Who is the coward now!"
Qui-Gon reappeared behind him, punching him in the head.
Palpatine dropped like a stone, hitting the ground with a thud.
Obi-Wan kicked Krydd in his soft belly. The Sith went flying
into the air before hitting his head on a rock.
Stunned, they both lay on the ground. Krydd had a deep cut
across his forehead, Palpatine a big knot on top. They were
surrounded by an angry council bearing spears at their throats.
Obi-Wan came up to them. "You need not worry about these
pretenders any more."
Bikk nodded. "We are in your debt."
Qui-Gon floated down gently among them. "My name is Qui-Gon.
Obi-Wan is my son."
That was a bombshell.
Jandu stuttered. "But...we were told" he looked helplessly at
Obi-Wan.
"You know my memory was not there" Obi-Wan answered him. "My
father had been here for some time but didn't make his presence
known. He met me in the woods and restored my memory."
"And these false ones?"
"They were after my son" Qui-Gon replied. "They used you to get
to him before his memory came back."
"Aah, it makes sense now" Xoov shook her head. "It was a
providence you came to right the matter."
The stunned Sith attempted to get up. Palpatine held his head.
Krydd had blood streaming down his face from his wound.
"You...cretins" he snarled. "You've won nothing. Stupid grass
runners! I could strike you all down..."
Qui-Gon stepped on his throat. "Silence. See them for what they
are, all."
Along the riverbanks, there was curiosity and amazement at the
turn of events.
"The true gods regain their status, then?"
"Maybe. I would see more."
"What of the deceivers?"
"They must be punished."
Krydd swore. "You'll pay for this indignity, Qui-Gon..."
"Look at these!!" Qui-Gon boomed. He pointed at the Sith. "See
the truth."
"Treachrrrbbbburrrph" Krydd lost his power of speech. He
bloated out, squatting and growing thick skinned.
Palpatine watched in shock. "You dare do thhhhggggg..." his own
voice disappeared as his features smoothed out and disappeared.
Arms and legs blended into his body which lengthened out.
In awe, the council watched the change. "They...they turn!"
Mauri stammered.
On the ground lay a giant flopping worm. Palpatine. The color
of his eyes. Alongside him Krydd had been reduced to a fat,
croaking toad.
Obi-Wan laughed wildly.
It was infectious. From the hill and down along the banks, the
laughter spread.
"Great Lord, we are sorry" Shekht said to Qui-Gon. "We were
mislead, and followed the wrong ones."
Qui-Gon smiled, put a hand on his shoulder. "No, don't follow
me. You are a prosperous and good people. Strong. You don't
need to follow anybody. But I'd like to be looked on as a
friend."
Shekht smiled back. "Indeed, appearances are deceiving. We saw
you as a threat, them as saviors."
"It was never that way, elder" Obi-Wan put in. "Were my memory
intact when I landed here, I could have eliminated the
confusion."
A throng of natives began to walk up the hill from the banks.
They wanted to see up close the 'miracle.'
Amused, they watched as the worm continued to flop in futility
and rage. The big toad croaked on in useless anger.
"Ha, they don't look like gods now" Ibut mocked. Others joined
in.
"The worm turns!"
"Squat on the earth. You belong there!"
"Or under it!"
Ribald hysteria. Errin snorted. "Perhaps they would make a good
sacrifice."
Obi-Wan went over to her, pecked her cheek. "Now Errin, be
nice." She grinned.
Qui-Gon gestured again. "They must be contained a bit" a rock
cage formed about the transformed sith. The toad croaked madly
as the worm tried desperately to slither out.
"Well done, Lord Qui-Gon" Jandu told him. "But, stay. Celebrate
with us a bit."
Qui-Gon lifted an eyebrow. "What say you, Obi?"
Obi-Wan grinned, looked at Errin. "They do know how to
party."
And party they did. Once again the air was filled with wood
smoke, roast meat, and fragrant fruit. Both clans danced in
meadows and at fires.
Qui-Gon had discarded his cloak and cowl. He felt mellow.
Jerte, Errin and Ibut joined them. Ibut spoke first.
"It would seem that we have learned a great lesson this day."
Qui-Gon nodded, the warm glow of the fire on his features. "All
around. And I must thank you three for taking care of my son.
He was injured and unable to communicate. It took me awhile to
locate him."
Jerte stared at Qui-Gon. "I can see where he gets his
handsomeness. It would, I think, be a marvel to still be
considered with favor."
"I thank you, Jerte" he smiled at her.
She smiled back. She pulled at his braid. "Such hair" she
admired, wondering how it would feel on her.
Errin and Ibut looked at her. "Another campaign, Jerte?" Errin
snorted. "Enough!"
"Can everyone relax, please" Obi-Wan asked. "There's been
enough conflict."
Jerte, still bold, squeezed between them. She hooked an arm
around each. "I agree. Never have I been so content."
"Strong minded, I see" Qui-Gon noted.
"We of the river clan are more direct, Lord."
"Stop calling me that. Qui-Gon is fine."
She brightened. "Qui-Gon."
Errin coughed loudly.
"Fruit, anyone?" she passed the bowl about. They all took some.
Obi-Wan found it quite tasty, though his body would get no good
from it. But the companionship and warmth carried over. He
stretched out in a lounging posture.
Yeah, nice party...
Many hours into the night passed. The celebration began to
break up, both clans returning to their homes.
Obi-Wan felt strange again. Not the hunger, this was something
else. He leaned quietly against a tree as the others talked.
Errin noted his silence. "Are you well, Obi-Wan?"
"Hmm? Oh yes. Just listening to you all" his body felt heavy,
disjointed.
Jerte continued to brazenly eye Qui-Gon, touching him idly.
What a prize she thought. I may be queen, yet.
Qui-Gon smiled at her thoughts. He surprised her. "Ah. So you
have plans for me, then?"
She blinked, startled. "Well ah...you know what I'm thinking?"
"A blind snoof could tell what you're thinking!" Errin
couldn't take anymore. She looked briefly at Obi-Wan. "Remember
our talk. Shall I consider?"
He shifted, uncomfortable. "Well...I think circumstances are
against it. I have my memory."
Errin closed her eyes briefly, sighed. "I should have known.
There is someone" Ibut hugged her.
"Yes" he told her truthfully, then paused. "Wait...I thought
you and Ibut..."
She forced a laugh. "Oh! He's my brother."
"You don't need her" Jerte said.
Errin pulled out a blade. "Stick your nose in again and you
will lose it. I wasn't speaking to you."
Qui-Gon's eyes widened. "Errin I think she needs her nose no
matter how misplaced."
Errin stared into his deep eyes. "Perhaps. I'll go before I
change my mind. It is late" she stood to leave with Ibut.
Ibut looked at them both. "Your work is done here, isn't it?"
They nodded.
"When will you leave?"
Qui-Gon sighed. "Most likely tomorrow. But we will say goodbye
before we go."
"Then we will be here" Errin eyed Obi-Wan. "You are still
sick."
Qui-Gon looked over at his son against the tree. "You are
remarkable with your sight, Errin."
They nodded, left. Jerte threw a hand at them in disdain.
"Let them go." she sidled alongside Obi-Wan, touched his
forehead.
"Errin is right, however. You are ill."
Obi-Wan blinked. "Jerte-"
"I will take care of you."
"I'm afraid I'll have to heal him, Jerte" Qui-Gon looked him
over. "I sense he has a fever."
"Shall we take him back to his hut?"
"No. I will heal him elsewhere. Go now. We'll return in the
morning."
She swayed over to him. "Then remember if you need assistance I
am here."
Qui-Gon nodded. She was too obvious. "I know. I appreciate it.
But I'll take it from here."
Jerte nodded. "Back to the river for me" like a shot she bolted
off.
He waited until she was out of sight. He crouched next to
Obi-Wan.
"Come with me."
Obi-Wan couldn't focus. His mind and body didn't match...
"Hughh, hahhh..."
Qui-Gon hooked an arm around his son, lifting him. They quietly
went into the thick woods.
They were some distance into the deep forest. It was a
beautiful clear night with a bold moon.
Obi-Wan trembled. His legs gave out.
Qui-Gon murmured soothingly in his ear. "A little further, come
on."
He was queasy. /What's wrong with me? Can't....control/
Falling to his knees, Obi-Wan keened.
AAAoooOOO!!
Convulsing, he changed to wolf form. He bolted from Qui-Gon.
"Obi-Wan!!"
A red wolf ran insanely through the forest, running into
bushes, bouncing off of trees. He didn't hear silent feet race
behind him.
Powerful jaws snapped at his haunches. A gold wolf worried him
along.
/Leave me alone!! GO AWAY./
Obi-Wan ran in circles, eyes wild. He fell down, got up and ran
in more circles.
The gold wolf snapped at him again. //Move!!//
"SNNnarlllll!"
Obi-Wan cracked his jaws at Qui-Gon. Qui-Gon bit his tail. He
yelped, rolling on the ground. Qui-Gon head butted him to his
feet, pushing and rolling him towards the river.
Tongue flapping out, Obi-Wan raced to the water shore, Qui-Gon
close behind. He dropped his haunches, dragging them on the
ground. He howled piteously.
//Obi, hang on// Qui-Gons' heart nearly broke.
Green eyes rolled madly as he flipped on his back, kicking the
air, snarling. Qui-Gon gripped the scruff of his neck and
dragged him into the river. Water splashed everywhere as he
fought the hold. Finally exhaustion claimed him as he collapsed
belly down into the water.
He shifted again, as did Qui-Gon. Still convulsing.
"S-s-s-s-something wrong w-w-with me" Obi-Wan looked at him
pleadingly.
Qui-Gon held him like iron in the water. "Ssh, shh. You have
brain fever, Obi. Too much excitement while you were healing.
Be still."
Big hands cupped and poured cool water over his son. He dunked
the spiky head slowly. Stroked the smooth skin, imparting
healing energy.
Obi-Wan quieted. His eyes were heavy as he shivered.
Qui-Gon bathed him for an hour. The convulsing stopped. Obi-Wan
eased out into his embrace. Gently he lifted his son from the
river.
//You will be fine with rest, my Obi.//
The jade eyes were weak. "So tired" he whispered. His body felt
like stone.
"You will have every opportunity to rest" Qui-Gon carried him
to a sheltered patch of forest with thick grass. Setting
Obi-Wan down he created a thick pallet and blankets for them
both.
The night was cool. Obi-Wan began to tremble uncontrollably.
His eyes ran as he clutched his sides.
"Hh-h-h-here goes a-again" he doubled over.
Qui-Gon quickly wrapped him in the blankets, setting him on the
pallet. Settling in alongside his son he held him close, making
more blankets around them both in a cocoon. The spiky head fell
over on his shoulder.
Qui-Gon stroked him softly under their nest. "Easy" the deep
voice murmured in his ear. "I'm here." He kissed the tears
away.
Obi-Wan barely heard him. "You feel so good. I was cold."
Qui-Gon nuzzled. "Are you cold now?"
Weak smile. "No. Warm. Thanks, father."
"Sleep, Obi-Wan. Heal."
Smiling as his son drifted off, he looked up at the night sky.
Obi-Wan awoke in his favorite place, his fathers' arms.
"Are you feeling better?"
The green eyes were bright as he took in the sights and scents
of the forest. "Like a new man. And to think I believed myself
healed already."
Qui-Gon kissed his forehead. "You had nothing else to compare
your condition to with the memory loss."
They kissed softly, snug and warm in their cocoon of blankets.
Qui-Gon was quiet for a while. "I'm curious about something."
"Hmm?"
"Errin and Jerte."
Obi-Wan grinned. "Well...they seemed to have designs on me."
"I could tell. Were they around when you first arrived?"
"Errin was. I met Jerte later. They both seemed to like me..."
"I see. Your memory wasn't intact."
"I made no promises, father."
"Perhaps none that you are aware of."
"No. It wasn't like that. They...thought me a god of the skies
and wanted to be queen."
Qui-Gon chuckled. "On the planet barely a week and looking to
have two wives."
Obi-Wan laughed, punched him in the arm. "I'm telling you it
wasn't like that. I just felt too incomplete to make any
serious moves."
Qui-Gon eyed him closely. "Incomplete in what way?"
Emerald eyes blazed into his. "I had fantasies of your touch
and the way you felt when I was around them. Like a dream I
couldn't grasp in the back of my mind. It held me back."
Qui-Gon was somber. "I'm sorry it took me so long to find you."
Obi-Wan pecked his cheek. "Why are you sorry? You did
everything you could. And through it all...I still loved you
even though I didn't know myself."
Qui-Gon kissed him tenderly. "Mmm. I missed this" he squeezed
the plump behind. "And this. Perhaps I can make it up to you
later."
Obi-Wan cuddled up. "I don't doubt it. By the way, what to do
about our favorite Sith?"
Qui-Gon snickered. "We'll pop in on Orious and drop them off.
But first..."
"First?"
Qui-Gon smacked his lips. "I hunger. Let us go hunt."
"I could do with a 'bite' myself" Obi-Wan giggled.
They shifted. Two wolves raced off into the woods.
The sun burned brightly in the afternoon sky when they
reappeared just outside the forest village. Everyone was
milling about, enjoying themselves.
Some more so than others. There was a huge commotion atop the
hill where the Sith were imprisoned. As they approached the
edge of the forest the two vampyres changed back, watching the
spectacle a ways off.
"Look, father. What going on?"
"Interesting. Let's go see."
Curiosity peaked, they strolled at a leisurely pace. As they
got within earshot they smiled.
"Looks like our favorite Sith won't be bored" Obi-Wan was smug.
Qui-Gon gave an answering smirk. "It's a mighty big drop from
ruling the universe."
And a big drop it was. Reduced to a worm and toad, captivated
like specimens. The natives of both clans had joined in on the
fun.
"Get that one...between the eyes!" shouted one, throwing a
stone.
"Ha! It has no eyes!!" shouted another.
"Push a boulder on the toad!"
"Let's play squish the worm!"
Obi-Wan couldn't help but laugh as they pelted the imprisoned
Sith with rocks, scorn, and mockery.
"Oh, they're vicious" Qui-Gon grinned. "I hate to break up
their fun."
Obi-Wan made a face. "And I think I'll pass on 'squish the
worm'. Ugh!"
They approached the commotion. Some of the natives turned to
greet them. They immediately fell to their knees.
"Up, everyone" Qui-Gon told them. "Enough of that. What are you
doing?"
The group stood slowly. One of the warriors answered first.
"A bit of amusement, Lords. We thought to play with the false
ones as they played with us!"
"Yes" an older woman replied. "We are no dolts to be misled.
Let them pay for their arrogance."
Rocks continued to rain on the worm and toad. They writhed
miserably.
"A sight I could never tire of, truly" Qui-Gon stated.
"Unfortuneately we have to return them where they belong."
"Where, Lord?" the warrior asked. "The pit?"
Qui-Gons' eyes lit with amusement. "Why yes."
Familiar figures approached them. The elders. They immediately
stooped low.
"If you bow again I'll tie your knees together!!" Obi-Wan
shouted.
His outburst had the desired effect. The elders laughed.
"So be it, Lord Obi-Wan" Xoov grinned. "My knees would not
withstand such an endeavor!"
"How now, to be dignified for our people with legs bound up?"
Jandu chuckled. "Surely, we'd topple."
"Surely" Obi-Wan smiled.
The others had stopped stoning the Sith with the arrival of the
elders. Bikk had a question.
"You must leave now, is that correct?"
Qui-Gon nodded. "I have enjoyed my stay here, and will always
be grateful for the help and kindess you showed my son."
They nodded graciously. "We were glad to do it" Shekht replied.
'We will miss you" a familiar voice said. They turned.
Errin and Ibut came toward them. "We made certain to say
goodbye."
Ibut nodded. "There is no way we would not be here."
Obi-Wan embraced them both. "I'd like to give you all a gift."
"We can" Qui-Gon said. "I have an idea."
They stood atop a nearby hill. Qui-Gon pointed at a boulder.
"Before we return home we will leave a special token. Have you
ever heard of a wish stone?"
Illeum nodded his head. "It is similar to our Jugg beads that
the children play with. They wish and dream upon them."
"Aah. But this will be different. Obi-Wan and I will make it
true magic."
The elders and others looked at each other. "You...would do
this thing?!" Tobu was amazed.
In amazement, the group watched as Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon crackled
with power. A haze of energy formed a blurred glow about their
heads, flaring outward from their eyes.
Struck by the power, the boulder began to change. It merged
with the force, disappearing momentarily in a nimbus of green
light. The glare lit the entire forest with an unnatural glow.
The elders stepped back in fear, cast in ghastly shadows. Errin
and Ibut covered their eyes.
"What have we unleashed" Kewll stammered, cringing from the
intense brightness..
"Back, back!!" Ofaz stumbled sideways. "We have presumed too
much!"
Stay your ground. Be silent.
They all 'heard' the command. Fear held them in place. The
glare subsided suddenly, returning the landscape to normal
color.
Errin opened her eyes slowly. "It...it is beautiful. Wondrous!"
The awed natives stared at what had been a boulder. A gigantic
gem sat atop a carved marble pillar, multifaceted and capturing
every ray of color from the sun. It shone brilliantly,
brightly.
Stunned they walked up to it, touching the polished surface. It
was perfect, without flaw.
"You...have done a wondrous thing, Lords" Mauri breathed, her
long hands tracing along the gem.
Murmurs of agreement. As they continued to examine their gift,
Qui-Gon explained.
"It isn't just a pretty stone. It has special properties of
magic. In time of need will it respond to all of you and those
you hold dear."
"Like a protector" Ibut said, comprehending. "But what of you,
Lords? You'll return to your home now?"
"It is amazing!!" another voice, suddenly. They turned. Jerte
had made her way up the hill, staring at the gem.
Obi-Wan spoke to her first. "Hi, Jerte. Do you like it?"
She launched herself at him. "Don't go. Please." she hugged him
tightly.
Obi-Wan remembered how good she felt. His darker instincts
curled tightly in his throat. Her blood is sweet, I scent it
through her skin. A small taste, perhaps...
Errin stood dumbfounded. "How...you burst here like this at the
presentation of our gift? Away with you!" she moved to grab
Jerte.
"It is not for you to say who stays or goes, girl" Bikk
admonished her. "Be silent and stand off!"
"But she-"
"Silence!!"
Errin fumed but said nothing more. Some of the others came
forward. An elderly man pulled his chin, staring.
"How to make it work, Lords? Do we just wish on it?"
Jerte released Obi-Wan. "Surely, Ubo. Why else would they leave
a gift of such magnitude?"
"It's true, you can do that. But use your wishes with care and
consideration" Qui-Gon told them. "Remember the gem has no
judgement, only power."
"That is a good thing, then" Jerte supplied.
"Only if it isn't abused, girl" Jandu stated.
"But how to protect it from anyone that just happens along?"
Ubo wanted to know. "Wouldn't it be chaos otherwise?"
"An interesting problem" Obi-Wan considered. He held out his
hand. Two crystalline shards formed on his palm. "Here are the
'keys', a failsafe. These will operate the gem" he pointed
them..
A blue beam flared from the crystals, striking the gem. It
briefly shimmered, then faded.
"Those most responsible must be the caretakers of the keys"
Qui-Gon stated.
The elders nodded. Bikk stood forward. "One crystal will each
clan own."
Jandu agreed. "As grand elders these will be in our
safekeeping" he took the other crystal.
"But what about...other matters?" Errin looked at Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan knew it was time to set the record straight. "Errin,
Jerte. Come here would you please?"
They warily eyed each other but stepped forward. He could read
their thoughts.
He will choose me. The elders will be my servants.
I will rule as queen of the gods.
"I know you both have great hopes, and I apologize if you've
been misled. But you both know when I met you that I had no
memory of myself. And with the arrival of the others things got
a little out of hand."
"You speak of the deceivers" Errin supplied. He nodded.
"I like you both. But I have to speak the truth here. When my
memory returned, I realized I already had a great love."
Jertes' voice dropped. "Another like yourself."
"Yes. If fate hadn't returned my memory, perhaps there
would be a new queen."
They brightened a little at that. "Well" Errin said at length.
"I am not pleased with this development."
"Can you accept it?"
She thought it over. "I will try. There is no disgrace
in...knowing the truth as opposed to living a lie."
Jerte folded her arms. "I don't take losing well! Fate is
cruel."
"Curse not fate, girl" Xoov told her. "You knew from the
beginning the odds were against you. Lord Obi-Wan is whole now,
and will return to the heavens."
Jerte turned to Jandu. "Elder, this must not be. Lord Obi-Wan
would find happiness here."
"He cannot stay Jerte. His place is not here" he empathized
with her.
Obi-Wan took her hands. "If things were different, Jerte."
She fought tears. "No, I realize...this is difficult." At a
loss for words, she kissed him. He hugged her.
"What about you, Errin?"
She looked away. "What about me. You must go. It is
done."
"Come here."
"No. You hold her."
"It doesn't matter, don't you see? Make your peace."
Jerte disentangled. "I am willing" she was subdued.
Errin stood stunned as Obi-Wan took her hand and placed it over
Jertes'.
"I want you to let this go. I was the cause of your
disagreement, anyway. Since I must leave, there is no reason
for you to be angry at one another."
They stared at each other. A slow smile spread on Errins'
delicate features.
"Perhaps we have both been fools, eh?"
Jertes' enormous eyes were clear. "Not the first time over a
man, it would seem. Do we ever learn?"
They laughed. The elders were pleased.
Qui-Gon beamed with pride. //I am proud of you.//
"Hold on a minute" now Obi-Wan was confused. "What do you mean,
not the first time?"
Jerte grinned. "We have competed since we were children.
Unfortuneately our tastes in men have been too simliar. It has
caused a few situations in the past, you might say."
Obi-Wan made a face. Here he was trying to make peace, and they
had their own private competition.
What a dope. he was redfaced.
"I think my son has also learned something this day" Qui-Gon
noted with amusement.
The group laughed again. Jerte went over to Qui-Gon.
"But your memory is intact, mighty one. How fares Jerte
in your opinion?" she batted those enormous eyes.
"Ah, well" Qui-Gon slipped out of her grasp. "Were
circumstances different...I think Jerte does quite well for
herself. In more ways than one" he kissed her hand.
"She recovers quickly, too" Obi-Wan noted with mild annoyance.
Errin grinned at him.
"I could have told you as much, Lord Obi-Wan. The river clan
rarely look back. It is more necessary there to have a short
memory."
"Why? I don't see the connection."
She smiled again as if teaching a lesson. "Because of the
location of their clan, there are more upheavals and tragedy
there. The land surrounding the waterways is never stable and
moves much. Yearly they lose many of their own to the open
earth. Flooding in the spring is common, and the very young and
elderly are in danger of drowning along the shorelines. It is
an unfortunate aspect of living near the river."
"Why don't they just move?"
"Ask Jerte. I cannot say for certain."
Obi-Wan turned to her. "Jerte? Help me out here."
She sighed. "There are advantages as well. In the spring and
summer when water is scarce and the woodlands are prone to
fire, we are safe. The forests also get the black rain which
causes sickness."
Obi-Wan looked at Jandu. "Black rain? Where's that come from?"
Jandu pointed across the landscape to the lower valleys and
mountains. "There, over the tops of the land. Fire comes first,
then the black rain."
"That is your word for the black rain? Indeed, it is fairly
common and seasonal as well."
"It would seem as though there is fair argument to be made for
living in either region" Qui-Gon stated.
The elder Geeirm answered. "It is so. Ages ago there were
territorial wars. The clans split into two groups, those who
lived in the wood and those who lived by the waterways. There
is peace now, but our lands remain our own."
"And now prosperity we have since your arrival" Bikk added.
"Truly, a golden age is upon us. Your gift will allow us to
overcome these obstacles."
"Did something else occur that I am unaware of?" Qui-Gon looked
at his son.
Obi-Wan shrugged. "I wanted to help the people by the river.
Their waterways were blocked. So I freed them."
Jandu smiled. "And our crops are lush and full, as they have
not been in years. The children play in clean streets, and we
have fresh drinking water. All thanks to Lord Obi-Wan."
Ibut stood alongside his sister. "What about the false ones?"
he pointed at the Siths' hill of imprisonment.
Qui-Gon snorted. "Don't worry. They'll get what's coming to
them."
They prepared to leave. Qui-Gon tightly bound the toad and worm
in a force shield so they could neither move nor make a sound.
"Farewell, mighty ones." Jandu said. "Well shall these days
live in our history."
Bikk waved at the other elders. In salute, they raised their
staffs.
"All hail, Lords. Safe tide to the heavens!"
The two vampyres bowed. "Live well, all. Perhaps someday we
will return."
"Remember us" Jerte shouted.
"I look forward to your return" Errin waved.
They disappeared in a clap of thunder.
Interlude. Orious.
A circle of Sith lords were having a meeting to discuss party
plans for the new year. They were rudely interrupted in their
conference room.
The chairperson was began to speak when suddenly her worn
features tightened.
"Hold, Lords. Do you sense an approach?"
They looked about uneasily. "A power surge!" Gurbynd bellowed.
"Fool" Malara said. "What does that mean. I felt nothing more
than a flow in the force-"
A thickly bearded Sith snorted. "Ha. You exaggerate as always,
Gurbynd. Such ebb and flow is common. You talk like an
initiate!"
"No! Don't you sense the signature, Iberius? It's-"
He never got to finish. The air crackled with power and the
room went dark, cast into an infernal red shadow.
"What madness is this" Yudd bellowed. "Who dares this
intrusion, what means this manifestation!!"
Did you forget us so soon, Sith?
They all leaped to their feet, squinting in the hazy red light.
KrakOOM!!
Black smoke billowed in the room. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan stood in
the center of it, smiling sharply.
"Cretins!" Yudd shouted. "You'll pay for this intrusion!"
Ha ha ha ha.
"Is that any way to greet guests?" Qui-Gon
mocked, fangs gleaming. "And to think we travelled clear
across the galaxy to bring you a gift."
Malara held her hand out to signal hold. "Speak your piece,
vampyre. And then leave while you can."
"Tsk. You are ill informed. We never leave before we want
to" Obi-Wan sniped. "Perhaps our peace offering
will please you."
"What peace offering?" Iberius wanted to know. "If this is some
trick..."
"We found something of great value to the coven of Sith.
Look there."
Curious despite their anger and fear, the Sith stared at a
cloud of smoke that rapidly dissipated. On the floor was a
giant flopping worm and croaking toad.
Sounds of disgust.
"You dare bring these gross creatures to our sight? Begone with
you!!"
Qui-Gon shrugged. "Don't you want them?"
Yudd gave a gesture of dismissal. "Of what use to the Sith are
these abominations?! Take them out of here!"
Obi-Wan made a mock face of sadness. "A shame. That's no way to
speak of your overlords."
Purwell had heard enough. He went for his saber. "I'll cleave
your head from your shoulders, vampyre. We'll see how high your
head bounces!"
Obi-Wan snapped his fingers. "Oh well. You won't listen to
reason, so I suppose I'll have to show you."
Purwell was suspended in motion. He swore.
"Now are you going to listen?" Obi-Wan asked. "Be nice, now."
The others sprung to their feet again, sabers at the ready.
"Such rudeness" Qui-Gon shook his head. "But before you do
anything stupid, know that these creatures are your lords
Palpatine and Krydd."
Stunned cries of disbelief.
"You LIE!" Iberius shouted. "There is no way-"
"You expect us to believe you transmuted their forms-" Malara
began.
Gurbynd. "Devil filth!"
Purwell could still speak, though suspended. "Even your
powers cannot-"
"They can" Qui-Gon interrupted. "I merely made them
reflections of their souls. See how they groan and make noise!"
It was true. The two creatures grew even more excited. The worm
flopped madly while the toad croaked non stop, bug eyes popping
up and down.
"Prove this, then!" Wencer insisted. "And shut those things
up!"
Qui-Gon made a gesture. "Listen."
//YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS HUMILIATION!!!//
//You DARE do this to THE SITH?!//
The mental voices were loud and clear. In stunned shock, the
Sith were taken aback.
Malara was tenuous, uncertain. "Lords, is it really you? Have
the vampyres cast you in those horrendous forms?"
//True enough, Malara. You know me. This will not pass! These
vampyre will suffer dearly.//
"Lord Krydd?"
//Aye! Cut them down where they stand. Their mockery will be
short lived!!//
"You heard the command!" Iberius shouted. "Take them out!"
The air hummed with the resonance of saber blades. Their
crimson light blended into the red haze. The Sith stood ready
to strike.
"SSSSSSSSsssssss!!"
Sharp points bared, the vampyres laughed.
Qui-Gon made a casual gesture. "Well, we've overstayed our
welcome so we'll go now."
Obi-Wan waved. "Bye-bye. Suckers."
With an angry charge the Sith moved in, sabers swinging down...
//GET THEM!!//
//CHANGE US BACK!!//
...striking empty air. The room returned to normal, red haze
disappearing. In rage and frustration, the Sith cursed the
space where the vampyres stood moments before. A mocking taunt
echoed.
You missed! hee hee...
They appeared in their ritzy living room a moment later.
Obi-Wan was flush with joy. And something else.
"That was hilarious. The look on their faces when they realized
those things were Palpatine and Krydd!"
Qui-Gon snickered. "I suppose they'll be in a bend once they
return to normal. Of course I did forget to mention they
wouldn't stay that way. Oh well. Who better to suffer?"
"Indeed!"
Their laughter subsided. Qui-Gon fixed his son with an intense
gaze.
Jade eyes flashed. "What's wrong?"
Qui-Gon sighed. "Oh, Obi. I'm so glad to have you back" he
stroked the beloved face tenderly.
Obi-Wan hugged him. "I know. I'm glad to be back, whole again-"
He stopped. Wetness ran down the side of his cheek.
/Father? Are you alright?/
In a broken whisper, words came in streams. "You're everything
to me, Obi. I saw you when you injured yourself in space,
flying around nearly unconscious. Saw you flaming down toward
that world, like a small comet...I thought I'd die inside-"
Obi-Wans' eyes grew suspiciously wet as well. "I...it was my
carelessness. I was enjoying myself so much that I flew into
that asteroid. Sorry..."
Qui-Gon looked at him again. They were both crying. "S'sorry"
Obi-Wan choked.
Qui-Gon kissed him. And kissed him. Soon relief turned to
passion, warm comfort to blazing fire.
They dragged up the stairs in a tight lip lock. Staggering to
their huge bed they fell atop it, sinking down in the plush
mattress and cushions.
Qui-Gon pulled back, looking down at his son with hot eyes.
Stroked him slowly before undressing him. A snakes' tongue
curled erotically in the air.
//When this night is done you will know how much you mean to
me.//
Enraptured, Obi-Wan had no reply. His mind was assaulted with
waves of love and lust.
Qui-Gon stripped him quickly. Obi-Wan felt his skin tingle and
burn, his body a hotwire of anticipation. Reaching up, he
ripped open the shirt that covered a strong chest heaving with
moisture. He plunged on a honeyed nipple, suckling it hard.
Qui-Gon cried out, arching in delight. A big hand drew the
spiky head in, massaging Obi-Wans' neck. Breaking free of the
contact, he pressed his son down into the soft cushions,
slopping noisily as he tasted every inch of skin.
Obi-Wan squirmed, writhing under the sensations. Loud moans
escaped his throat. He couldn't move. His cock popped up,
slapping the side of Qui-Gons' hip.
Moving down, Qui-Gon slowly nipped and licked along the inside
of the golden thighs, tongue teasing the bend at the knees. He
suckled the muscled calves. Obi-Wan twitched from the ticklish
sensations. The hot mouth moved over his feet, bathing them in
wetness as Qui-Gon lapped between the toes and over them,
tongue rolling under the arches. Fangs nipped the ankles.
"Mmm. Good bones" the deep voice murmured. Feral eyes watched
him.
Obi-Wan was beginning to sweat. "Father..." he gasped, body
strained. An attempt to return the favor proved useless. He was
held in place.
Sliding upwards, Qui-Gon leaned over Obi-Wan, sweeping the long
tail of hair across his chest and stomach, forcing the tender
nipples up further and reddening them under the assault. The
lions' head rolled side to side as he purred.
Obi-Wan scented his own heat and that of Qui-Gons'. Cinnamon
and musk, an intoxicating and heady blend. Brown bronze hair
continued to tease, rolling over his clenching stomach, down
across rigid cock and swollen balls. Turning his head aside,
Qui-Gon wrapped a lock of hair around the velvet head, pulling
the root and plunging down on it suddenly with tongue. Obi-Wan
bounced helplessly, his arms and legs everywhere.
"Ghods...aaahh...please...OH!!"
Wetting his hand, Qui-Gon slapped the swollen balls. Again.
Again.
Obi-Wan arched off the bed, jade eyes rolling back in ecstacy.
"Yes!!Want it-"
Nerves pounding from arousal, Qui-Gon lifted the wiggling hips
and plunged inside. The lions' head flew back.
"SSsssssss!!"
Obi-Wan fogged out, impressions burning his mind. Concern and
desperation, relief and love, all blazing together in a tangle.
His arms and legs flew around his beloved.
Strong thighs clutched Qui-Gon as they rocked. Swelling and
bursting they shrieked their pleasure as they came, thick heat
splashing and rolling between them.
Obi-Wan could move again. Panting, he gently stroked the broad
back, running a pointed nail along the rippling muscles.
Qui-Gon nuzzled, inhaling his scent.
"Love you" Obi-Wan managed, still ragged. His tongue hung out
over his fangs.
Long teeth nipped the side of his jaw. "As I love you, my Obi.
Too many nights went by with a cold bed."
Obi-Wan sat up slowly, cradling the lion head in his arms. He
stroked the regal features. "Well I'm here now to heat things
up" mischevious smile.
Deep rumble. Slow grin. "I see. How about some music?"
Emerald eyes sparked. "Oh yes, that would be nice."
Qui-Gon slipped out of bed. He walked over to the wall panel
that housed the in-mounted speakers, activating them. Hot sweat
emphasized the muscled body under the colored lighting. Obi-Wan
watched the flexing stride in admiration.
If anyone were to be mistaken for a god...
Qui-Gon smiled, picking up on the thought as he returned to
bed. He slipped in alongside his lover, pulling satin sheets
around them both.
"So. Tell me how you enjoyed being a god?"
Obi-Wan looked at him, startled. "You...are you
serious?"
Brilliant blue eyes regarded him. "Of course. Tell me" he
settled inside his sons' arms again.
Obi-Wan thought as he propped his chin against the lion head.
"Strange, to tell you the truth. It didn't feel right, even
with my memory gone. I simply went along with it because I had
no reference point. With no memory I couldn't disprove
it either."
"And once your memory returned?"
"I had no use for it. The endless fealty, dropping to the knee.
Made me uncomfortable."
Qui-Gon tilted his head up a little. "How did the adulation
make you feel?"
Obi-Wan turned it over in his mind. "The truth? I did
feel...superior. And it occured to me that if I were to stay
there, I may as well be their god. It would have been a good
life there."
Qui-Gon held him tighter. "For a while. Sometimes fate
intervenes when we least realize it."
"What do you mean?"
"You could not have deceived them forever. Your dark nature
would betray you in that environment sooner or later.
Where then goes their god?"
Obi-Wan was thoughtful. "Maybe so. There was an incident..."
"Tell me."
"I nearly attacked Erin. She said I looked like a demon. It
occurred before my memory returned. The thirst came on me
suddenly and I didn't understand what was happening at the
time."
"That life would eventually bore you. Your scope is too large
for that now."
Obi-Wan stared into the ocean eyes.
"What is it, Obi-Wan."
"You...Palpatine said the same thing."
Qui-Gon snorted. "Faugh. Worm."
"No, I'm serious."
"I should have fed him to the toad. To think he had the gall to
parlay himself as your father."
Obi-Wan touched the goatee, traced the full lips. "I made
myself accept his words but they never felt genuine. Something
in me rebelled. But when I met you in the woods I knew
it was right somehow."
Qui-Gon softened. "I sensed your inner confusion, but had yet
to determine the extent of your injury."
Obi-Wan sighed, closed his eyes. "And I didn't even consider
myself injured at the time."
"It's not uncommon to have an illness which by nature affects
your ability to sense it."
Obi-Wan nuzzled his nose along the fine neck. Fingers trailed
through the long mass of hair. "Well, at least everything
worked out for the best. Maybe I was meant to be their 'god' if
only for a while. Now they can use the gem to prevent some of
the natural disasters that plague both tribes."
Qui-Gon beamed at him. "An excellent notion" he pecked the
smooth forehead. "They're good people. Perhaps we should return
some day and see how they're getting along."
"I'd like that."
They were quiet a bit, cuddling.
A stray thought hit Obi-Wan. "Father, I swear I'll never
understand women."
"Hmm?" Curious eyebrow. "What's to understand?"
"I mean Errin and Jerte!"
Knowing smile. "Ah. Wounded pride?"
"Humph. Here I was, noble and gentle. The peacemaker.
Supposedly bringing the two of them together-"
"Check your ego at the door" Qui-Gon grinned.
"-and they were all but laughing at my efforts. So they're
competing over me like a piece of meat!"
Qui-Gon chided him. "Well you certainly enjoyed the attention
enough, memory or no. So you got back a little. What of it?"
Obi-Wan pouted. "Are you saying I got what I deserved?"
Blue eyes sparked with mischief. "Well..."
Obi-Wan laughed, stunned. "You...you'll pay for that!" he
tickled him.
Qui-Gon squirmed, hysterical. "Come on, Obi. S-stop! I can't
take it..."
Strong hands continued their efforts on the big body. "Tease
me, will you. Take that. And that!!"
Qui-Gons' eyes were near to tears. "Have pity on me, Obi!"
Triumphant smirk. "Mr Sage here. The fount of all wisdom. So no
women ever yanked your chain, eh?"
"Are you kidding? They ran me in circles. Most notably your
mother."
"What was she like? Most of the time, I mean."
Qui-Gon grew serious. "Full of energy. Driven. She set me on
fire when I first met her. She was beautiful in form and mind.
We were drawn to each other like magnets. From the beginning,
we knew."
Obi-Wan kissed him. "Did you know she was a dark priestess?"
"No. I had no clue, I was too far gone. It's ironic too,
because had I known more about her most likely I'd have turned
aside."
Green eyes were on him. "Do you think your heart would've
allowed it?"
Qui-Gon touched his cheek. "Truthfully, I doubt it. We were too
much alike. No wonder Mace konked me on the head and dragged me
out of there. But as you said yourself, perhaps it was fate.
The time I was with her was well spent" he looked at Obi-Wan
with meaning.
Obi-Wan felt warm and loved. He hugged his father. "Thank you."
Qui-Gon sighed in content, purring. "You're welcome. I can talk
about it now and not fly into rage or sorrow. Because of you."
"I'm glad. I didn't want you to relive any painful memories."
"No pain, my Obi. Not any more. I only regret she didn't live
to see what a fine man her son has grown into."
Small grin. "Are you trying to swell my head?"
"Me? Perish the thought! Now about those women-"
"-You knew that many, father?" Obi-Wan teased. "Perhaps I have
a dozen or so siblings I don't know about."
"I...mind your elders, boy. I was talking about Jerte and
Errin! You aren't too old to be spanked."
"Ooh, that sounds like fun."
"Hmm. I've half a mind to uglphhh-"
Obi-Wan silenced him with a kiss as they snuggled in a satin
cocoon.
