Feedback: Oh, please. It's my first time posting anything and I would appreciate it greatly.

Notes: I wrote this poem earlier this year for my Lit class, well before I even saw the movie. I've been thinking of posting it with a few revisions for a while now (it was a religious poem originally). It's short and pretty simple but I really like it and after reading Kass and Kate's "Hearts of Darkness" (if you haven't read this masterpiece, go there now! Well, after you read the poem, that is. <g>) I was inspired to finally revise it and somehow I got the guts to post.

Disclaimer: I don't own the guys. If I did, TPM would have lost the PG rating. They are Mr. Lucas' creation. The poem, however, is mine.

The Darkness
~~~~~~~~~~~
The darkness swallows me.
Breathing becomes impossible.
I claw, I struggle, I fight, I scream.
But it is no use.
The darkness sets me free for a while;
Then when I taste that sweet freedom,
He takes me prisoner again,
Reminding me I am his.
The darkness mocks my misery.
I cling to the memory of better days
Before my life became desolate,
So hopeless, so bleak, so despondent.
But then you come, and pick me up
And hold me in your strong arms
Taking me to a place of joy and love,
Extinguishing the darkness with your light.
