A/U - Angst, Drama

Obi's twenty-four.

Warning: Continuation of SQUEEZE PLAY and CRISS CROSS

Hot body party.

"Did you get it, Xavier?"

"Yeah. You'd better hope this doesn't come back to haunt you."

Kay'bee smiled, palming the small bottle. He'd paid a high price for the oil, but it was worth it.

"It's an illegal substance, you know. If we're caught-"

Bright amber eyes looked sharp. "Wait. It won't cause any harm or have after effects, will it?"

Xavier dropped down on the couch, running a hand through thick black hair.

"No, the dealer swore it's high quality Echru. Just get the person to get a little into their system, either by absorption or ingestion."

Kay'bee grinned, holding the bottle to the light. The pale red oil glistened. "To think this is the key to all my plans."

Xavier observed him. "Kay'bee. You'd really risk everything for this? Qui-Gon means this much to you?"

Kay'bee sat next to him. "Yes" he answered earnestly. "Have you ever met someone you just 'knew' was the one? It's how I feel about him."

Xavier shook his head. "But...the Code! Why not wait until after your trials. Once you're a knight, you can approach him as an equal. You could bond with him freely then..."

Kay'bee stood abruptly, pacing. "I can't wait that long. Obi-Wan will have his hooks in him by then."

Xavier waved a hand. "Wait a minute. Back up. I thought you said they were already doing the wild thing. You could blow the whistle on them."

"It wouldn't work. Qui-Gon would hate me. I couldn't take that."

Cool blue eyes bored through him. "What are you doing, then? You couldn't break them up before. What's the difference now?"

"This" Kay'bee smirked, holding up the oil bottle. "I talked with Master Jinn. He admitted he finds me attractive. If it weren't for Obi-Wan, he might have chosen me as his padawan."

Xavier whistled. "You're kidding! No wonder you feel so encouraged..."

Kay'bee sat back down. "It's not as if the oil is creating something that isn't there. Call it more...an inducement" he smiled.

Xavier was silent a moment. "Be extemely careful, Kay'bee. If this is discovered...I don't want to mention it, but you have undergone psychological evaluation and treatment before."

"What are you bringing that up for!!"

Xavier stared at the bottle of oil. "Only that you have a mental profile on record. If the Council gets a hint of what happened in the past..."

Kay'bee stood abruptly. "You're supposed to be my friend! Are you saying I should be locked away?!"

Xavier motioned for him to sit. "Don't go flying off. I said I'd help you and I have. Maybe I need my head examined, too."

Kay'bee smiled slowly, turning the oil bottle over in his hands. "Anything worth having is worth fighting for. And I make a poor loser."

"But what about Obi-Wan?"

Amber eyes flared brightly. "What about him?"

Xavier folded his hands. "Well...I hate to burst your bubble, but it's not like he's just going to disappear."

"He will once Master Jinn turns him away. And with the help of this" he held the bottle high, "I plan to make it happen."

The party was a Jedi gathering of who's who. The most prominent and storied were all in attendance, wearing their best formal attire.

Qui-Gon was at his most handsome and dashing, wearing a gold braided blue sarong top with brocaded pants. His boots were shiny and deep blue. The long hair was glossy and braided neatly down his back, decorated with a gold cord. He mingled with the other Masters who were dressed in various deep colors and elaborate styles.

Obi-Wan was chatting it up with his fellow padawans who were attired by their station. They wore white satin dress shirts with black fitted pants and matching boots. Each padawan had the option of decorating his or her braid as they saw fit.

Obi-Wan decided on green and gold beads to highlight his eyes.

Yoda was tickled. His sister, Uagi, had come to attend and celebrate his 805th birthday. She did her best to monopolize his time.

"Getting old. Skin wrinkled. Need wife to care for you" she winked.

Yoda quivered his ears, laughing. "So say you. Been there, done that. And enjoying party I am."

Uagi looked about at the assemblage, nodded. "Excellent is. And emcees are?"

Yoda waved in the general direction of Obi-Wan. "Young one, Obi-Wan. An exceptional jedi, will be knight soon. His Master is Qui-Gon, also emcee."

Uagi grinned, eyeing Obi-Wan closely. "Ah. Fine looking lad, handsome. Another force mite, like my dear brother."

Yoda banged his cane. "Uagi. Still mock the ways of the Jedi, after all this time?"

"It never interested me. And has kept you from family for years!"

"This is a nice gathering. There will be no disagreement here!"

Uagi flared her nose. "Would that it could be so. Still, will abide by wishes. I have no desire to open old wounds. 'Tis a celebration."

Yoda sipped his wine. "Always were most reasonable one in family."

Uagi laughed loudly. "Flatterer! You have done well with force army. Much of their success has reached our homeworld by way of news."

They stood off, continuing their discussion and catching up on family matters.

Obi-Wan was having a blast. His fellow padawans were ribbing him as they stood at the buffet table.

Terbi poked him in the side. "Hey, pretty boy. Want to dance? That is if you haven't eaten too much and can't move!" she shook her head full of thick brown waves.

"Come on, Terbi. Give me a break! Arranging this party has taken a lot out of me."

"Sure, we understand. Old man." Obay teased him, grinning. His teeth were bright against dusky features. He wore the scarlet braiding of a new knight on his pant legs.

Obi-Wan admired them. "Nice, Obay. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long to get mine."

"Earn it, son. You'll try hard, I'm sure. What have you got another ten, twenty years to go?"

Obi-Wan smirked. "Oh, funny."

Qui-Gon was also enjoying himself. He sat at a marble table with the other Masters. They partook of many delicacies. An elaborate fountain display stood as the centerpiece of attention.

"I must say, this Merva steak is delicious" Ooni remarked. "So tender. Where in the world did you get it, Qui-Gon?"

He smiled at her. "A little dealer I know. His uncle owns livestock."

"Hmm" she continued to eat. "Perhaps I should show up at his doorstep."

"No doubt he would go into shock, a Jedi Master dropping in on him for food!"

"Do I look sympathetic enough for a handout?" she made a long face.

Hearty laughter at the table.

Gaar chortled. "Just wear a few rags and bang a cup. Now that would be a sight!!"

Windu even cracked a smile at that one. He wore an austere maroon suit, tapered in a geometric pattern.

"Ooni it would surely be the end if it came to that!" he added.

"Oh, Mace? Wouldn't you give me a bowl of mash and send me on my way!"

"Crazy woman!" he fell over laughing.

Master Turrell entered, moving through the crowd of guests. Her padawan Kay'bee was near her side.

"Master, I would join the other padawans" Kay'bee told her.

She nodded, put a hand on his shoulder. "You've been pulling extra duty lately, and I am proud. Go, relax with the others."

He beamed, bowing deeply. "My thanks" he joined his group.

Turrell watched him retreat. I worry about his balance.

Kay'bee smiled, strutted over to his colleagues. Terbi and Obay looked over at him.

"Well, well. Look what the slykatt brought in" Obay pointed.

Amber eyes flashed. "I forgot about your new knighthood. We aren't lowering the standard for you, hmm?"

"Long time no see, Kay'bee" Turbi eyed him. "Been in any controversies lately?"

"I love you too, Durbi" Kay'bee remarked. He looked at Obi-Wan. "Hi."

Obi-Wan stared at him. "Hello" he turned to put something on his plate.

"Pretty nice party you have here. Must have taken a lot of hard work."

Obi-Wan nibbled at his plate. "It did. We put a lot of long hours into the arrangements. Fortunately everything turned out as planned."

Kay'bee gave a vague smile. "How is Master Jinn?"

"He's fine. If you wish to see him he's over there with the other Masters" Obi-Wan indicated a far corner of the dining area.

"You just get here Kay'bee?" Durbi interrupted.

"Yes. I didn't intend to be fashionably late but I do have a sense for the dramatic."

"In more ways than one" Obi-Wan mumbled.

"I think I'll say hello" Kay'bee looked across the room cheerfully. "Mix and mingle, you know? See you guys later" he strutted off.

They watched him. Obi-Wan frowned.

Turbi pulled his sleeve. "Okay, Obi-Wan. What's the deal with you two?"

The green eyes flashed in irritation. "What do you mean?"

"Don't give me that. The chill factor just knocked the temperature in here down a few degrees."

"I...you know we have a bad history."

Obay munched on a vegetable. "The question is, how much of it has become recent?"

"What!"

"Can I tell you something?" Obay leaned closer, lowering his voice. "A while back I was in the library complex. Kay'bee and Xavier had their heads together about something. I couldn't completely make out their conversation..."

Obi-Wan looked at him sharply. "What did they say!"

Obay sighed. "I heard your Masters' name come up quite a bit. The conversation seemed to be about him."

"How so?"

Obay glanced briefly at Turbi. "Kay'bee has plans for your Master, Obi-Wan. If you ask me it sounded like he's flirting with getting kicked out..."

"What!" Turbi nearly shouted. Obay shushed her.

"Keep your voice down, will you? Too many ears here."

"Wait a minute" Obi-Wan looked around. "Let's go in the next dining area. There's less traffic."

Obay nodded. The trio exited the ballroom floor.

Kay'bee was flush with excitement, plan committed in his mind.

Before the night is done you will cry my name, beloved.

Respectfully and with some small nervousness he approached the Masters seated at their table. They were resplendant in their attire, glowing from conversation and wine.

"Greetings, my masters. A fine gathering, no?"

They looked up at him. Ooreth responded first.

"Indeed, padawan. Are you lately arrived?"

Gold eyes flashed. "Yes, my lady. Master Turrell is in the garden area at present, and will be joining you soon" he turned to Qui-Gon.

"Greetings, Master Jinn" his eyes lowered a little.

Deep blue eyes regarded him closely. "Greetings, Kay'bee. I trust all is well with you."

"Yes. Much improved from before, I would say."

"Padawan" Windu interrupted. "Find your Master, please? I would have her sample this delicious Broudini Wine before it's all gone."

Kay'bee bowed. "Certainly, Master Windu. She would be pleased."

He turned to go, accidentally stumbling and losing his balance. He brushed his hand against Qui-Gon in a seemingly innocent gesture.

I think I got him.

Qui-Gon stared at him briefly. "Are you alright, Kay'bee?"

He stood razor straight. "A little wine on the way in, Master Jinn. Maybe my tolerance isn't as high as I thought" he smiled innocently.

Gaar lifted an eyebrow. "Hmm. Perhaps you should drink something softer then, eh?"

"True, Master Gaar. I so rarely imbibe" he glanced again at Qui-Gon. "If you will excuse me" he turned to leave.

Ooreth smiled at Qui-Gon as they watched the retreating padawan. "Methinks he would be your padawan, Qui-Gon."

"Ha" Qui-Gon laughed nervously. "He enjoyed his stay with us awhile back."

"How did he and Obi-Wan get along?" Gaar wondered, sipping another drink.

Qui-Gon lifted his fork in an attempt to look casual. "They had a few rough spots, but they got along well enough."

Interesting. Gaar noted, looking over his glass. You are tense, old friend.

Kaddon. "Ah, youngsters. To be immortal again" he lifted his own glass.

"To immortality!" the other Masters clinked their glasses together, laughing.

Xavier was another late arrival. He looked across the dining area for any sign of his buddy.

Where are you, knuckhead.

"Hey, Xavier."

The lanky padawan turned at the sound. Poovis approached him, another padawan whose Master was in attendance at the party.

"Hey, Poovis. Have you seen Kay'bee?"

Her thick brows pinched together. "As a matter of fact, I have. He was over at the Masters' table just now."

"Well I guess I'll have to go find him-"

"Find who?"

The two padawans turned. Kay'bee came up behind them, smiling.

"So there you are!" Poovis looked at him.

"Live and uncensored" amber eyes flashed.

"Excuse us, Poovis. I gotta talk to this guy for a minute."

She looked at the chronometer. "It's okay, I have to meet my Master anyway. See you later" she left.

"Okay, Kay'bee. What's up. Did you do it?"

He looked about at the milling crowd. "Let's sit at this table over here" he indicated a vacant spot. They seated themselves.

"So tell me" Xavier folded his arms over the table. "Did the plan work? You managed to touch him?"

"Yes" gold eyes gleamed in conspiracy. "Just think, Xavier. Before this night is over all my dreams could come true! Qui-Gon will be mine."

Xavier frowned at him. "Down, boy. You're either desperately in love or the craziest fool I've ever seen."

"Leave it to you to put a damper on things" Kay'bee complained. "But I won't be dissuaded here. How long before the oil takes effect?"

Xavier thought a moment. "The dealer told me it depends on the persons' metabolism and size-"

"Can't you give me a straight answer!"

"You're getting on my nerves, Kay'bee. What do you want, absolutes? Don't let your obsession cloud all your thinking!"

Kay'bee leaned back, calming himself. "Sorry. I don't mean to yell at you. It's just that being so close to my goal...maybe I did get a little carried away."

Xavier nodded. "Wait a bit, let the situation come to you. That way it will seem less forced and no one will suspect."

Kay'bee glanced into the crowd. "You may be right. And what better way to burst Obi-Wans' bubble than to let him think his beloved is straying of his own free will."

"I sure hope this is worth it, bud. Because if this thing blows up we're both fried. You know that?"

"It won't blow up. Now come on, let's get something to eat."

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan ate with his friends.

"Obay, what's Kay'bee planning? Did he give a clue?"

The dusky features pinched in concentration. "That's just it, Obi-Wan. I'm not sure. Sounded like he wanted to get your Master involved in something. Xavier was with him."

Did you hear Xavier say anything?"

"Not specifically, I was too far away. But I got the impression that they were putting their heads together about something."

Obi-Wan tapped his fork. "That could be bad news. I'd better keep an eye on him."

Turbi stared. "But why? What's he done? I don't get it."

Obi-Wan paused. "I...Kay'bee has been campaigning to be padawan to my Master for some time."

Turbi almost laughed. "That's ridiculous! You're his padawan! Is he crazy?"

Obay looked at Obi-Wan closely. "His antics are known, Obi-Wan. What aren't you telling us?"

Obi-Wan looked down. "I'd rather not get into it."

"C'mon, Obi. We're your friends" Turbi encouraged. "Kay'bee is hot for your Master. So? What padawan wouldn't be?"

Obay thought a moment. "Turbi, think about what you just said."

"You mean about Kay'bee being hot for-" she stopped, gleaning the point.

They stared at each other "Oh" dawning wonderment.

"He has lost it" Turbi replied. "You can't just violate the Code on a whim. He's looking to get tossed out of the order!"

Obay whistled. "Loony. Obi-Wan, you know he's been erratic in the past."

Obi-Wan nodded solemnly. "Tell me about it. It nearly cost us both when we were younger. Remember the scam he ran at the academy?"

"The transcripted reports? Yeah, it was all the talk" Obay agreed.

"It sounds like he needs help, if you ask me" Turbi added.

Obi-Wan sipped his drink. "I don't want to overreact, but he tried really hard to tempt my master when he stayed with us. We nearly got into a fight about it."

"Don't worry too much until you have to" Turbi advised him. "Three heads are better than one!"

Obi-Wan managed a grin. "Sounds like good advice."

Hours passed. Guests milled and thinned out. The guest of honor himself had retired to his apartments, his sister at his side. It was known that Yoda's great age tended to tire him out at times. But he clearly enjoyed himself and said so at great length before retreating.

Obi-Wan had a blast himself. Hanging out with his friends made him mellow. Eventually Obay and Turbi were ready to leave.

"Man, I am beat" Obay sighed, stuffed. "Can't dance, can't move. I gotta sleep this off" he patted his stomach.

"A disgrace" Turbi teased him, poking his belly. "I oughta run you around the building a few times."

Obi-Wan laughed. "You're the track star, Turbi. You'd kill him!"

"Greetings padawans."

They looked up. Master Virid smiled at them.

He laughed as they attempted to bow. They were too full of food and drink.

"Be at ease, all of you" he smiled again. "Turbi, it's late."

She stood. "I trust you enjoyed yourself, Master. We certainly had a good time!"

"I can see that. The food was excellent by the way, Obi-Wan."

"My thanks, Master Virid. The party took a lot of preparation."

The black eyes sparkled. "Well done! I was telling your Master this was one of the best gatherings I've ever attended. Gaar even got up and danced."

"Surely a providence, Master Virid" Obay joked.

He nodded. "Now if I can collect my padawan?" he glanced at Turbi.

"Ready to go" she smiled, smoothing her shirt. "See you guys later. And Obi...don't worry, okay?"

"I won't. I'll catch you at the next creche lecture, okay?"

She gave him a thumbs up. "You got it."

Virid nodded. "Give your Master my best. I'll see him next week."

Obi-Wan smiled. "I will. My thanks."

They left. Obay yawned.

"Time for me to go home too, Obi. Listen...if I find out anything else, I'll let you know, okay?"

Obi-Wan pulled his chin. "Good idea. I don't trust his motives for one minute."

Qui-Gon felt strange. He excused himself from the remaining group and went out for some air.

What's the matter with me. I feel...so odd.

He wandered aimlessly outside of the ballroom, towards the garden. Silent footsteps traced his direction. He was too preoccupied to notice or sense them.

Burning up. Do I have a fever?

He sat near a water statue in the garden. Soft moonlight danced across the foilage. He closed his eyes, listening to the soothing sounds of the fountain.

A silent form entered the garden.

Qui-Gon vaguely was aware of another presence. He slowly opened his eyes.

"Master Jinn" soft voice.

Qui-Gon stared at the hooded figure. "Who...*Kay'bee??*"

The other man pulled his hood away. "Yes" the amber eyes glowed against the moon.

Qui-Gon stared into those eyes. So lovely...

No! What am I thinking?

"I'm glad you came here" Kay'bee lowered his eyes. The black lashes fanned down.

"I'm...not certain what you mean" Qui-Gon felt a flush to his eartips.

Kay'bee sat near him. The dim light shone through white blond shocks. "Are you alright, Master Jinn?" the voice was too soft.

Qui-Gon backed away a little. "No...no, I'm not. Attend your Master, Kay'bee. I would be alone."

A warm hand covered his. "I've thought about you these long months. Nothing has changed."

"You are mad" Qui-Gon gasped at the touch. "Leave me!"

Kay'bee was too close.

He is beautiful, like Obi-Wan. But so different.

"Understand me...I will do nothing" he was beginning to sweat and shiver.

"Nothing, beloved?" the fine face moved in. The lips were full, tempting. "You are so fine, handsome. And truly the center of attraction among the Masters."

Qui-Gon felt his blood pressure skyrocket. He touched the other man's face.

"Kay'bee" he whispered, lost. "You...are something else."

Arms encircled him. "Kiss me."

Qui-Gon crushed him close. Kay'bee panted, lit with excitement. Their lips were nearly touching now.

"This is...insanity" Qui-Gon gasped. "But I want you, by the force" he engulfed the perfect mouth in a kiss.

/Let me love you!/

//Yes. Let us leave this garden, Kay'bee.//

Lips pulled free with a smack. "Where do you wish to go?" the younger Jedi was glowing with desire.

Qui-Gon pulled him to his feet. "To the beach, lovely one. The night is warm and the water cool."

Kay'bee could barely breathe. He smiled brilliantly.

"Why...why yes! The party is breaking up...no one will notice we're gone."

Qui-Gon all but pulled him along. Kay'bee held the big hand tightly, stumbling and blind with lust.

You've lost, Obi-Wan!

/Easy, my love. We don't want to attract unecessary attention. Let my hand go, I will walk at your side./

Qui-Gon glanced at him briefly. //Were it left up to me I would carry you to the beach. But you are right. We musn't allow suspicion.// he released Kay'bees' hand as they walked through the last of the party revellers.

One of them happened to be Obay.

He stood off at the end of the longest corridor near the ballroom.

What? he stared at the two scurrying figures, frowning.

What in Sith is going on with that? I'd better let Obi-Wan know just in case.

Decision made, he darted in the opposite direction.

Obi-Wan had given up trying to find his Master in the mob of bodies. He decided to go home. Hanging his cloak near the doorway, he pondered the days' events as he settled in for the night.

He must really be enjoying himself to stay out this late. Party turned out even better than expected.

He yawned, stretched. Slipping off his boots he lounged on the sofa, activating the viewscreen.

May as well watch a movie...

They made their way to the shoreline, taking a winding trail through the forests outside the main Jedi complex.

Kay'bee looked at the sky. "A perfect night for love, I think. Don't you agree?"

Qui-Gon turned, grabbed him tightly. "Yes. Why didn't I see the truth before, Kay'bee? I must have been mad to turn you aside."

Kay'bee stroked his face. "It doesn't matter. Not now. As far as I'm concerned, the past doesn't exist" he leaned into the warm mouth.

They kissed hotly, falling down onto the wet sand. Kay'bee pushed Qui-Gon down on his back.

"Let me" he panted, pulling off the brocaded tunic. He admired the fine physique.

Amber eyes were luminous in the dark. "I remembered this as well. You are perfect" he leaned down, kissing the soft nipples.

The silky lips were warm. Qui-Gon groaned, sighing in content. Kay'bee worked tongue over the plump peaks, gently nipping them and lapping lazy circles on the muscled chest. The flat belly clenched in pleasure.

"Oh, that's good" Qui-Gon moaned. He pulled Kay'bee into another deep kiss, rolling him over. Big hands reached around the tight ass, pulling pants down. Long fingers teased along the crevice.

The water's edge lapped over them, rolling and soothing. Kay'bee loosed the horse braid. Long brown hair tailed in the water.

Qui-Gon sucked kisses along the smooth neck. Kay'bee arched back in bliss.

/So long have I wanted this, my love. We were meant to be./

Qui-Gons' caresses moved over a tight groin. "Are you so certain?" he whispered, licking a curved ear. "It is strange. I can't recall this feeling before tonight."

Quick kiss. "It's the moon" Kay'bee stroked the short beard. "I love you."

"Speak no more, Kay'bee" Qui-Gon pulled his own pants off. "Now I will ravage you, plumb your delights" blue eyes blazed with passion.

Kay'bee was too aroused to answer. He lay passively as he was stripped, chest rising rapidly as his breath quickened.

The lions' head went low, lapping at the gold curls over the groin, over soft balls. Kay'bee clutched the broad shoulders as his lover kissed his thighs.

"Yes, yes" eyes rolled back as Qui-Gon deep throated him, pulling with slow suction. A big hand gently kneaded the tender sacs.

/Love you!/

Long fingers slipped inside, teasing. Kay'bee twisted and squirmed as a sweet ache raced up his spine.

"Aak!" he pulled Qui-Gon in close, tousling the long mane.

Qui-Gon was breathing hard now. "Kay'bee...you are enchanting."

He was. Deep moonlight flickered across the handsome features, wet slickness from the waves rolled over the fine body. A shapely cock bobbed up. Qui-Gon stroked it gently, leaning back.

"Oh...oh my Qui-Gon" Kay'bee was nearly over the edge. He reached up with both hands.

"Love me forever, let us bond. Nothing will separate us" the full mouth parted in anticipation.

Gentle hands touched the proud forehead. Qui-Gon closed his eyes, unable to think.

/Who dares??!/

Two sets of eyes snapped open. The spell was broken.

/What. Obi-Wan!!/

/Kay'bee! You scumbag./

/Get out! This doesn't concern you./

/Like SITH it doesn't!!/

//Stop, both of you// Qui-Gon held his head. It was beginning to throb.

Kay'bee sat up abruptly. "Don't listen to him, he's jealous. The night isn't over yet" he reached for Qui-Gon.

The powerful form moved off. "Stop!! Something is wrong here...I don't feel like myself" he rubbed his temples.

Kay'bee stood up. I must press the advantage while I can.

"Beloved, hold me. I'm about to burst" he grabbed a big hand, massaging it over his groin.

Qui-Gon stumbled a little. He felt drugged. "No...Kay'bee, what is going on here? I need..."

Amber eyes were on him. "I know what you need" he panted. "It's what I need!"

Qui-Gon felt his pulse pound, worse than before. He grabbed Kay'bee.

"I'm leaving...do as you will" he gasped, eyes dark.

Amber eyes burned into his mind. "What I will is that we make love!" sensing a weakness, Kay'bee pushed the larger man back down onto the surf.

Qui-Gon groaned, resistance gone. Powerful arms reached tightly around the younger man.

Warm tongue teased the full lips. Black lashes fanned. "Now kiss me, and forget about everything else."

Tight groins slid together. Kay'bee suckled along the strong jaw, lapping the hollow in the strong neck. Qui-Gon jerked up from the touch.

"Kay'bee...how is this possible?" he breathed, voice thick with lust. Strong hands rolled his pants down over the thick thighs.

Kay'bees' eyes widened in admiration. "You...are wondrous, my love. I must taste you" hot lips slipped over the velvety head. Roaming hands stroked the big body, squeezing and fondling.

Qui-Gon arched helplessly as the practiced tongue lapped him thoroughly, working over the heavy sacs. Soft nips sent him near the edge.

"*Kay'bee!!*" he shouted, leaking profusely. He reached down, grabbing the other man.

Kay'bee was flushed, lips pouty. The amber eyes were wild as he straddled Qui-Gon, opening himself wide. He gasped as the thick pillar penetrated him. Big hands guided his hips down.

"Yesss...ghods!" Qui-Gon cried out.

Kay'bee bounced wildly, howling in delight. The tight heat soon brought them both to explosion.

And between their minds, Obi-Wan raged.

He'll pay for this, I swear.

Adrenaline and anger fueled his motion. Obi-Wan hastily got dressed. He looked at the chronometer.

Three A.M...

He had just pulled on his boots when he heard the door chime.

What the Sith?? It's the middle of the night. Now what?

Impatiently he stormed to the door, snatching it open. A startled Obay stood outside.

Green eyes widened in shock. "Obay?!"

His friend looked a little guilty. "Sorry. I know this is a crazy hour, but..."

Obi-Wan waved him in. "So what's going on? A crisis at the temple?"

Obay sat down on the sofa. "Obi-Wan, listen. I hung around the party awhile after it started to break up. But I saw something you should be aware of."

Obi-Wan felt his stomach tighten. "My Master."

Obay nodded. "You felt something through your link? Okay, then listen. I saw Master Jinn with Kay'bee. They were headed outside of the building in a big hurry."

Obi-Wan sat slowly. This was vital. "How did they seem?" his voice was too quiet.

Obay frowned. "That's just it. It was weird. They went out the east exit, towards the beach. They seemed to be in a big hurry."

Obi-Wan stared off into space. "This doesn't make any sense! Where could he be going so late with Kay'bee. It was a party, there were no assigned duties or emergencies."

Obay was thoughtful. "Obi-Wan...I have to say this. For all intents and purposes it looked as if they were going on a tryst."

"Are you crazy!" Obi-Wan shouted. "Do you know what you're suggesting. My Master arranging a secret meeting with another padawan??"

Obay shook his head. "I know it sounds insane. And for your sake I hope it is. Look, that's why I had to tell you. But you already knew some of it, didn't you?"

Obi-Wan nodded grimly. "I felt impressions through our bond. But I didn't want to believe...Obay, I've got to know the truth!"

"What do you want me to do? You need any help?"

Green eyes went dark. "Yes. Keep me from killing Kay'bee."

Obay took his hand, squeezing it. "Can I have some truth, now?"

Obi-Wan blinked at him. "What?"

"Why this reaction? I know it's upsetting, but-"

"Why would he choose another padawan!" Obi-Wan blurted, not thinking.

Obay stared at him. The deep eyes went hard. "You felt it, didn't you?"

"Of course I did! I just said as much."

The stare intensified. "No. What bond are we talking about here, Obi-Wan. I thought initially it was a Master and apprentice bond. Now I suspect something else."

The cool observation stopped him in his tracks. "Why...do you say that? All I meant-"

"-Force, why didn't I see it? It's all over your face" Obay whispered, slow comprehension dawning.

"No" Obi-Wan lied weakly. "I need to find them. That's where I was headed when you showed up."

Obay stood up. "Come on, I'm going with you. We need to check the beach first."

Obi-Wan stood also. "Obay-"

Brown fingers touched his lips. "Quiet. Don't say anything I won't believe. Let's go."

Obi-Wan sighed, closed his eyes. "Thank you."

Obi-Wan could have sworn they'd set the land record for speed. Less than forty five minutes later they walked along the shoreline, just east of the Jedi complex.

Obay squinted into the salt wind. "I don't see anything. If they were here, they're gone now."

Obi-Wan looked about, braid whipping around. "Damn" he stood still, reaching out with his mind.

Obay was silent. He stretched his own awareness towards their immediate surroundings.

"Wait..."

"What!"

"Obi-Wan...over there!" Obay nearly shouted.

The two young men bounded toward the waters' edge. The surf lapped over their feet. In the sand lay a sash belt.

Obay picked it up. "You recognize this?"

Obi-Wan took it, nodding. "Yes. It belongs to my Master" he looked about grimly.

"Now the question is, where did they go?"

Two jedi anonymously checked into a motel downtown. Kay'bee selected a quiet neighborhood with little traffic.

"Less opportunity for us to be seen or recognized, my love" Kay'bee gasped, as Qui-Gon pinned him against the door. They had barely made it inside.

"I want more of your kisses, Kay'bee" Qui-Gon rasped in his ear. "Many more."

Smooth fingers trailed through the damp mass of hair. "All you wish. Come, let's get undressed" Kay'bee led him to the bed.

Qui-Gon felt strange, as if he were moving in another reality. Kay'bee pressed him down onto the mattress. His body felt heavy.

"I can barely move" he groaned. "Kay'bee..."

A gentle hand covered his mouth. "Be silent, love. I'll do all the work" practiced hands moved over him, easing his clothes off.

The amber eyes were wild. "I can never get enough of this sight" he breathed. Muscles rippled as he stroked the smooth skin.

"Glad...you like it" the deep voice rumbled. "Wish I didn't feel so peculiar."

Kay'bee smiled gently. He pulled off his own shirt, sliding out of silk pants. Qui-Gon felt lips all over, tasting and touching all his tender spots. A hot tongue curled and teased the thatch at his groin. Heat stabbed along his thighs at the touch.

Big hands cupped the fine face. Kay'bee laughed as the massive cock bounced up off his cheek.

Eyes sparkled. "You certainly have no problems getting it up" he kissed along the swollen shaft.

Qui-Gon bucked up. "Kay'bee. Come closer!"

"As you wish, beloved" the younger man climbed up over him, grinding their groins together. Two hard cocks leaked as they rolled between hot bellies.

Kay'bee picked up speed, arching back as his hips pumped wildly. "Going to come...hold me" he clutched the broad back.

"Not...yet" Qui-Gon hissed through his teeth. He grabbed Kay'bee suddenly, rolling him over on his back.

The hot body was flush and moist. Fine legs flew open.

"Hurry..." gold eyes pleaded, slitted in pleasure.

Qui-Gon lifted him quickly, plowing inside. Kay'bee screamed in delight, bouncing and heaving over the intrusion. He grabbed handfuls of the long mane, pulling his lover forward.

Qui-Gon pumped him hard. Kay'bee clawed the broad back, shouting his name as he spilled over.

Qui-Gon roared as well, bursting into the tight heat. Thick wetness splattered everywhere. Kay'bee reached up quickly, touching the proud forehead.

"Aghh...bond...with me!!" again he tried to join souls.

//No, padawan...//

"Yes!!" Kay'bee shouted desperately, even as his orgasm was subsiding. "Not...complete."

/GET THE HELL OUT!!!/

/Not again!! Go away!/

//I am done with this nonsense!!// Qui-Gon closed his mind down. Anger burned into his desire. He rolled off of Kay'bee.

"No" Kay'bee panted, still swollen with need. "It's Obi-Wan, don't you see? He thinks to destroy our happiness."

Qui-Gon allowed his anger to boil over. "This entire night has made no sense, and I will get to the bottom of it. Do you think me a fool, or a toy?" blue eyes blazed, demanding an answer.

Kay'bees' cock dropped like a stone. Qui-Gons' anger washed over him like ice.

"Listen to me, Qui-Gon-" he began.

"You will address me properly, padawan." Qui-Gon hissed.

Kay'bee blinked. "What? You're joking-"

Qui-Gon stood, a statue of muscle and hair. "I'm leaving. Tomorrow I will access what happened here. And the consequences."

Mad jealousy shone in the wild eyes. "Just like that? You would pretend that what we shared doesn't matter?"

"It doesn't matter because nothing was shared" Qui-Gon snapped. "We had sex, nothing more. And I want to know why we had sex."

Kay'bee smirked. "The obvious reason. No one forced you here. You came of your own free will."

Qui-Gon snorted, reaching for his clothes. "Did I? I've felt strange all night, almost as if..." the deep eyes bored into the younger man.

Kay'bees' eyes widened. He felt a probe. "NO!" he threw his shields up.

//I am Master, padawan. Resistance is useless. You think to hide the truth from me?//

/There's nothing to hide! You wanted to spend time with me!/

"Don't insult my intelligence or yours" Qui-Gon said aloud. "You know as well as I something occured at that party. And I will have answers."

Kay'bee stood defiantly. "I'll not address a lover formally. You wished to be here. Did I force your hand? There are no secrets."

Qui-Gon smiled vaguely. "Do as you will. I will clean up before I go" he abruptly turned, heading for the shower.

Kay'bee jumped in front of him. "Does the idea of us being together repulse you so much? You've enjoyed my company well enough!"

"You push me" Qui-Gon warned him. "Now stand aside. I won't say it again."

Kay'bee looked into the grim features. Wisdom finally prevailed over lust. He stood aside.

Qui-Gon nodded, heading for the shower.

Obay was holding Obi-Wan down. They had returned home.

"I'll kill him, I swear!"

"Dammit. Will you stop this??"

"They're together again. I saw it!"

"You saw an isolated scene in a motel room. Does that tell you where they are?"

Obi-Wan sobered. "No, it doesn't. But our suspicions are correct. Kay'bee is attempting a love bond with my Master."

Obay looked off momentarily. "He wasn't successful."

Obi-Wan frowned in confusion. "No...I don't think so."

His friend sat next to him. "Because he couldn't be."

Obi-Wan stared at him.

Obay took up his hands. "I know, Obi-Wan."

"You're misunderstanding-"

Soft peck on the cheek. "Stop lying. Haven't we been close? You can trust me."

Obi-Wan looked at his handsome friend fondly. They had been intimate in the past, growing up. It was a fairly common practice for padawans to have partners amongst themselves.

Obi-Wan smiled weakly, looking down. "You know me too well."

"Would it help if I told you I shared your dilemma?"

Green eyes snapped on him. "*What!*"

Obay put an arm around him. "I too feel love for my Master, Geedo. I would share everything-"

-"But you're a knight now" Obi-Wan interrupted, incredulous. "You could approach him freely, without repercussions from the Council."

Obay was quiet a moment. "Only recently a knight, as well you know."

Obi-Wan looked at him intently. His eyes went wide. "Are you saying that the two of you..."

"No, but we got close to it a couple of times. Fortuneately we managed to resist temptation until I became a knight."

Obi-Wan calmed a little. "And now?"

Obay smiled, showing brilliant teeth. "We've never been happier. It's one of the reasons why I want to help."

Obi-Wan leaned against him. "And the other?"

Obay pecked his forehead. "What do you think. You gave in, didn't you?"

Obi-Wan nodded, eyes closed.

"Hot blooded snekt. Never could keep you hands off somebody" another smile.

Obi-Wan spluttered. "You-you're a fine one to talk!"

Qui-Gon showered quickly and dressed. It will be dawn soon. How to explain this to Obi-Wan?

He heard movement in the next room. Impatiently towel drying his hair, he stepped out into the hallway. Kay'bee intercepted him.

"What do you want now?" the deep voice was flat.

"Such coldness from a lover. Perhaps my lips will provide the answers you seek" the younger man moved in.

Qui-Gon pushed him away. "It would seem anger is a good counterspell. You will return to your home and I shall return to mine."

Kay'bee tilted his head in defiance. "Hardly. You desire me. Why deny this?"

"We waste time with this arguement. Move!" Qui-Gon stalked forward.

Kay'bee stood off. "So be it. I won't beg, not even for you. But remember, I have the tape."

Qui-Gon stopped at the door. Slowly he turned, a tower of thunder.

He advanced on Kay'bee. "Are you threatening me?" his voice was low.

Kay'bee faltered a little. "I did not say as such, precisely. But if you return to Obi-Wan, I must turn to desperate measures."

A big hand abruptly gripped his chin.

"I know what you did but not how. And I also know your mind is as disordered as ever."

"I'm not insane" Kay'bee told him. He shivered. Qui-Gon gripped his chin even harder.

"That tape will not buy your behavior. You dare call yourself Jedi with this disgrace. And know that I too can produce 'evidence' that could cause a review by the Council. Be advised, padawan" he released him.

"Go to your precious Obi-Wan" Kay'bee hissed. "You'll never have anything of value with him."

Qui-Gon regarded him solemnly. He is dangerous to himself and others. I must speak with Turrell, no matter what the risks.

"Stop looking at me like that."

"Like what, Kay'bee?"

Gold eyes flashed. "Like an examiner. I would be done with such recriminations."

"You are irrational. Return to your Master, I am leaving now."

Speechless, Kay'bee watched him go.

The sun barely edged over the horizon when he arrived home.

I dread this. What can I possibly say?

Silently he went inside. Obi-Wan and Obay were asleep on the sofa in a platonic embrace.

Now is not a good time. We all need rest. I'd best...

He froze. Jade eyes fixed on him, bleary.

"Obi-Wan."

His padawan/lover attempted to stand. Obay likewise stared in vague recognition as awareness dawned.

"Master Jinn?"

"Greetings, Obay. I thank you for your assistance. It's most welcome."

"Perhaps I should go."

"No. Stay. Go to our guestroom. When you awaken, share breakfast with us."

Obay looked briefly at Obi-Wan. "I...is this wise?"

Obi-Wan nodded, smiled softly at his friend. "Go on. You're out on your feet anyway."

A hand squeezed his shoulder. "Okay" /Remember, don't jump to conclusions./

/I won't/ "Goodnight."

Obay bowed at Qui-Gon. "My appreciation, Master Jinn. I doubt I could make it home at this point."

"I feel responsible for this situation, Obay."

Dark eyes were on the tall figure. "I understand, more than you know" he turned down the hallway.

Silence stretched between the two remaining Jedi. Qui-Gon moved toward Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan stood off, folding his arms.

Qui-Gon sighed. "Obi-Wan...I must explain to you what happened."

The green eyes were hard. "Can you?"

Qui-Gon was looking at a wall, and he knew it. "Perhaps we should resume this conversation after we've had some sleep."

"Count on it" Obi-Wan went to his room.

It was nearly midday when they all arose, eating a hearty meal. Obay did most of the talking, as Obi-Wan merely glared in silence the majority of the time. Soon after, Obay left.

/Call me later/ were his last thoughts to his friend.

/I will./ Obi-Wan promised him.

Kay'bee stretched across his bed, unmoving. He hadn't stirred for hours.

Turrell walked in. "Kay'bee" her face was grim.

He immediately stood, bowing low.

"Greetings, Master. I..."

"Silence. Be still a moment" she looked at him closely.

"What is it, Master? Is everything well?"

She continued to observe him. "No, it is not. You didn't attend the seminar, and have been withdrawn since yesterday."

He smiled weakly. "It's just a mood. It will pass."

"No, it will not" she sat on the bed, indicating for him to sit as well. He sat slowly. Apprehension crept across his face.

"Kay'bee, I must say this. Perhaps it is time for you to attend the 'obl'weer sessions again."

He stood abruptly. "No! Why would you think so, Master? After all this time, have you so little faith in me?"

She sighed, taking his hand gently. "It isn't about faith, Kay'bee. We both know your history and the possibilities. Tarma rule one?"

Kay'bee frowned. "It is illogical to refuse treatment for improvement."

"You are very bright, with fine potential for knighthood. I would see nothing detract from that."

"But I'm fine. The treatments are no longer necessary!"

Dark eyes glimmered. "I disagree. For the last few months I've noticed how erratic your shields have become."

Panic stabbed in his gut. My shields! Does she know...

"I've been distracted, that's all."

"No. You wrestle with a dilemma. Tell me."

He couldn't look at her. "Master. Your concern is unfounded. Everyone has periods of different moods."

"True, but this is more than that" she held his face. The weathered hands wouldn't release him.

He couldn't take it. /Please, stop. You don't have to.../

//Kay'bee. Your heart is hurting. And I am not deceived. You must be healed soon or you won't be able to function.//

And then the tears came. Frustration and unrequited love boiled over. Kay'bee shuddered in her arms.

"Shh, shh. Kay'bee it's not the end" she soothed, stroking his hair.

He clutched her desperately. "I love him, I can't stop myself" he choked.

"Who do you love?" her voice was soft. "Another padawan?"

His face was against her neck. "No. Not a padawan. Someone forbidden."

Turrells' heart sank. "Tell me anyway, my Kay'bee."

His voice dropped. "A Master. I am so sorry."

Her voice went hard. "And have you had a relationship? The truth!"

Kay'bee pulled back. "No. No relationship. I was desperate..." he looked down again.

She shook him. "Explain! How desperate. What did you do?"

"I tried to...set up a situation so that we could be together."

"And were you successful?" Turrell demanded.

"Not exactly."

"Enough riddles!"

"No, Master. No riddles. I thought to coerce my beloved and win his hand. But now I see it isn't meant to be-" he burst into tears again.

Turrell held him tightly. My fears were justified.

Obi-Wan sat alone in the study, meditating. It took every ounce of control he could muster to stay calm. He spoke little to Qui-Gon since Obay had left. In fact, he gave no real opening for conversation. In frustration Qui-Gon left him alone.

He paced around the desk, thinking. I know there is something else going on besides the obvious. But how to resolve this in my mind? I saw them together. And though it makes no sense, I'm jealous and mistrustful.

He stared out the window, sunlight dancing on his features.

Whenever Qui-Gon was not satisfied with a situation he would investigate it. And investigate he did. He visited Vebhell, one of their healers and requested a blood test.

To say the least, Vebhell was surprised.

"What in force for, Qui-Gon?" the heavyset jedi asked him. "I sense your aura is fine. You are the picture of health."

Qui-Gon smiled a little. "That may well be. But a strange set of circumstances happened at the party last night. I would be certain that no 'funny buisness' was involved."

The thick brows knitted over the lined features. "Are you telling me you believe you've been drugged?"

Qui-Gon sat down at his desk. "My behavior took strange turns I couldn't account for. I don't know for certain, but I suspect someone at Yodas' party is responsible."

Vebhell pulled his chin. "Did you have any symptoms?"

"I felt feverish at times and then cold. In between I had dizziness and a heavy feeling, as if my mind and body were disjointed."

"What about your behavior you mentioned?"

"My shields were interfered with, and my...libido was out of control."

Vebhell grinned. "Horny, eh?"

"Worse than an Ionian Bull. It's a miracle I made it through the night."

Vebhell cocked an eyebrow in amusement. "Somehow I think you managed. Okay, let's take some tests."

The results surprised them both.

"By the force!!" Vebhell was furious. "What lunatic would use this. Echru is an illegal substance with unpredictable side effects."

Qui-Gon was silent a moment. "Should I still be concerned?"

"With the Echru? No. I gave you a counteractant that will nullify any residual effects. But Qui-Gon...who would do this?"

Qui-Gon felt a pang of sadness. "A truly desperate individual."

Vebhell shook his head. "They'd have to be to risk criminal prosecution!"

"Maybe it won't come to that. There's just one thing though...no one else showed symptoms. I can't understand how it got into my bloodstream."

Vebhell leaned back behind his desk. "It can be taken a number of ways. By ingestion, or absorption."

"Absorption" Qui-Gon mused. "How?"

"Breathing vapors, physical contact."

Qui-Gon thought a moment. "Of course" comprehension dawned.

"Give words to the thought, Qui-Gon."

I believe someone touched me with the oil."

Vebhell nodded. "It's possible, and a less suspicious way of transmitting it. Casual contact, probably."

"Can I take this copy of the results with me?"

"Of course. I have the original on file. But Qui-Gon...anyone who would use this is a danger."

He stood. "They will be dealt with."

Qui-Gon had one more errand to make before returning home. He travelled over the the quarters of Turrell and Kay'bee.

Hopefully they're here. I didn't call ahead.

He rang the buzzer repeatedly. Turrell came to the door.

"Why, Qui-Gon! What brings you here. News of the Council?"

He regarded her solemnly. "I only wish it were something so mundane, Gerri. It involves Kay'bee."

She closed her eyes briefly. "Force. Come inside, please."

Qui-Gon walked past her. "Did I say something-"

"I know why you are here. Sit, make yourself comfortable."

He did so. "Gerri-"

She smiled sadly. "What has Kay'bee done. Tell me."

"How to begin? Kay'bee...is attracted to me. Obsessively so."

"Go on."

"A few months ago he approached me about his feelings-"

Her eyes went round. "When I requested he stay with you."

Qui-Gon nodded. "He clearly wanted a relationship. I handled it as best I could by telling him it wouldn't be possible."

"Did he accept this?"

"Initially I thought so. But I soon realized that wasn't the case. He and Obi-Wan clashed over it."

Turrell frowned in thought. "I see. Obi-Wan perceived him as a threat to his position?"

"Yes. They butted heads quite a bit. I didn't think it a serious matter at the time, but-"

"But?" she prompted, dreadful.

"I...wondered if he were a bit unstable. He seemed reasonable at first, but that was pretense. He persisted in his attempts to get my attention."

Turrell looked away. "I feared this."

"He would give me looks and touches. During our mental exercises he professed his love for me. I was confounded."

"What are your feelings, Qui-Gon. Are you certain you didn't give him hope?"

"No! I explained to him that the feelings were not returned, though I found him attractive. He construed it to mean that the opportunity would exist in the future for us to have a relationship."

"And you made this clear?"

"Yes. Gerri...someone drugged me at the party last night in an attempt to compromise me. I suspect Kay'bee."

She stood abruptly. "Are you mad! What proof do you have?"

"This" he handed her the small folder he was carrying. She took it and sat down again.

Dark eyes read the information grimly. Turrell closed the folder. She was silent.

Qui-Gon touched her shoulder. "Gerri? Are you alright?"

She covered her eyes. "Ghods. I must help him."

"Can I help?" Qui-Gon worried. He sensed there was far more to Kay'bee than first appeared.

She slowly took her hand down. "I must tell you the truth. Kay'bee has struggled with a mental disorder most of his life, Vystocci. He was treated on several occassions, but I was told that relapses are not unusual."

"Vystocci? I am unfamiliar with that disease."

"A disorder of brain chemistry. It affects behavior and judgement. The healers check him once a year to ensure his psychic balance."

"This is in his medical files, then?"

"Yes. I sensed his balance was not normal, but ascribed it to youthful moods. I was in error, and it could cost him dearly. I have failed" she looked miserable.

Qui-Gon hugged her tightly. "You haven't failed! And Kay'bee is not at fault for his condition. Indeed, everything makes sense now."

"Are you going to pursue this with the Council?"

He thought a moment. "In light of what I know now? No. But I think that-"

They turned the sound of the front door opening. Kay'bee burst in.

"Master, the healers want me to report-" he froze, seeing Qui-Gon.

"Why are you here!" he shouted.

"Kay'bee! You will address your Masters properly" Turrell boomed.

He caught himself, bowing deeply. "My apologies. An abominable display of behavior."

She nodded, satisfied. "Join us. You have explaining to do."

Amber eyes blinked at Qui-Gon. "I don't understand-about what?"

"About the circumstances surrounding the party. You will tell us about your involvement."

He stood rigidly, hands tucked inside his robe sleeves. "I was in error. In an attempt to seduce Master Jinn, I thought to use an illegal substance to coerce his feelings. I thought I could force love for me. But it was wrong, I see that now. Nothing was accomplished."

Qui-Gon was amazed at the almost clinical detachment.

"Kay'bee, I have arrived at a decision. I will not pursue this matter with the Council, provided you receive treatment. Turrell and I have discussed this."

He glared at her. "You told him?!"

She returned the glare. "Yes. And I would do it again, under the circumstances. Are you aware you could be criminally prosecuted for transport and use of a banned substance?"

Kay'bee went pale. "I...hadn't considered."

"Then know that we are both in Master Jinns' debt. You have placed me in an untenable position."

He went to her, falling to his knees. "Forgive me, I'm so sorry. I thought..." he glanced briefly at Qui-Gon. "Why couldn't you love me!"

Qui-Gon felt a pang of regret as Kay'bee once again sobbed miserably. Turrell gathered him in, her own eyes bright.

//Now you see what I am faced with.//

Blue eyes went deep with compassion. //His treatment is vital, for his own sanity.//

"Kay'bee, look at me."

The tear stained face stared. "Why? What else is there to say?"

Qui-Gon sighed. "There is much to be said. My own perspective on this matter is changed."

"You can afford to be gracious...you have what you want."

"And what does that statement mean?" Turrell demanded.

He faltered. "Nothing. Just...it isn't fair" he looked at Qui-Gon again. "I truly thought in my heart we were meant to be."

Qui-Gon touched his face. "There are qualities in you I have great affection for. I meant what I said. But you must also accept the truth.Wishing will not make it so. Both must love equally for such a joining. It has ever been our way."

Kay'bee nodded, standing up. "I know. I thought to convince you properly, and when that didn't work...I was desperate."

"Love makes fools of us all, Kay'bee" Turrell told him. "None are immune."

The young Jedi turned to her. "I suppose not. Master...I have no desire to torture myself."

She smiled at him softly. "I know, my padawan. Go, we can discuss details later for your treatment."

Gold eyes fixed on them both. "Will I ever be cured?"

Qui-Gon placed hands on his shoulders, drawing him into a hug. Kay'bee shivered. The deep voice rumbled in his ear.

"In the force, all things are possible. Be strong, Kay'bee, and heal."

Kay'bee stood back, amber eyes bright with hope. "Yes. I thank you" soft lips brushed his. He turned and went to his quarters.

The two Masters watched him leave. Turrell squeezed Qui-Gons' hand.

"I must thank you, as well. Your words and his treatment will provide closure."

Qui-Gon stared down the hallway. "Keep me informed of his progress."

"I will. The treatments start tomorrow."

"I misjudged him terribly. I thought him a scheming conniver."

She smiled. "Everyone has thought so since his days in the creche. A few of us knew otherwise. His medical condition was not for public consumption. But to his credit, he wanted no special attention."

"I hope he can be cured. He has the makings of an amazing knight."

Turrell beamed. Masters always appreciated hearing compliments about their padawans. It was a reflection on themselves.

"You will stay for tea" she insisted.

He smiled at her. "How can I resist?"

As he headed home, his reasonably good mood was tempered by the fact that he and Obi-Wan still hadn't spoken since the incident.

We will straighten this out even if I have to sit on him to make him listen.

It was nearly evening. He hung his cloak near the door.

"Obi-Wan?"

No answer. He walked about the dining area, the kitchen. No Obi-Wan.

"Obi-Wan!"

"Here, Master" frosty response.

Qui-Gon turned. Obi-Wan stood in the hallway, luggage packed. His cloak was sashed, his cowl partially covering his features.

Qui-Gon spluttered. He was beside himself. "What means this. Explain!!"

Obi-Wan tucked his hands in his sleeves, standing rigidly.

"There is nothing to be said, Master. I will find separate lodgings. It would be most appropriate, given the circumstances."

"Circumstances!"

"I will leave a forwarding address-"

Qui-Gon stood in front of him. "You will not leave."

"I shall. There is no need to remain. You clearly desire Kay'bee. Later we can discuss severing our bond."

"Shall I invoke stewardship, then??!" Qui-Gon roared. "You aren't a knight yet."

"Perhaps I can petition for another Master."

Qui-Gon was barely controlled. "Now hear me, Obi-Wan. We will discuss this. You will not walk out."

"I'm not a fool. You are attracted to Kay'bee. Perhaps more so than I cared to believe."

"You aren't-"

"I wanted to think it was just an infatuation-"

Qui-Gon shook him. "Don't twist this around! There is nothing between myself and Kay'bee! You know this!"

The green eyes were cold. "I only know what I saw in my mind" Obi-Wan hissed. Not once, but twice."

Blue eyes darkened with pain. "Obi-Wan, please understand. What you saw...it wasn't what it seemed."

Obi-Wan pulled away. "Lame! You justify this, after everything we've shared?!" he was shouting now.

"You could have come to me, said something. I would've-"

"Enough of this!" Qui-Gon dragged him into the bedroom. "We must talk!!"

"Don't touch me" Obi-Wan snarled. He snatched free. "Say your piece, Master. Then I will leave!"

Qui-Gon covered his eyes. "Obi-Wan...I don't love Kay'bee. I never did."

"So you say. Evidence exists to the contrary."

"Are you being stubborn or stupid?!" Qui-Gon felt his own temper boil to the surface. "Does it make any sense at all that I would suddenly be with Kay'bee?! Didn't it cross your mind that something else was at play?"

"I thought Kay'bee had done something initially" Obi-Wan was sullen. "That is, until you went with him a second time. Then I suspected it was mutual."

"It wasn't mutual!!" Qui-Gon nearly yelled. He never felt so out of control of a situation.

I must make him believe...

Strong hands gripped the other man again. "There is something you must know. First, Kay'bee has mental illness..."

Green eyes flashed in shock. "Wha...you mean, you took pity on him? Is that why you slept together!"

"No! He drugged me to induce sex."

"You didn't look all that helpless to me!"

"I was barely aware of what I was doing, Obi-Wan!"

Obi-Wan looked away.

"Have I ever lied to you? Kay'bee suffers from a mental disorder caused by unbalanced brain chemistry. It affects his behavior and judgement."

Obi-Wan was still suspicious. "How so?"

"He is prone to extremes in emotions and actions, as well you know. What most assume is deliberate behavior on his part is merely illness."

Obi-Wan quieted. "And how do you know this?"

"Turrell herself told me. He has battled this disease, Vystocci, his entire life. It is not well known about the temple, due to privacy restrictions."

Obi-Wan sat down slowly. He let out a breath. "What is your involvement?"

Qui-Gon sat next to him. "I have no involvement. He transmitted a drug to me at the party. Echru."

Obi-Wans' eyes went wide. "He...*what!*"

"Look at this" he held out the blood sample report.

Obi-Wan scanned it quickly. Shock and disbelief registered on his face.

Qui-Gon continued. "He brushed against me with the oil, causing absorption through the skin. I felt strange afterward, out of control. He conveniently intercepted me in the garden when I excused myself from the party. The rest you know."

Obi-Wan lowered his head. "How do you know Kay'bee did this?"

"He admitted it this afternoon. I went to speak with Turrell about my suspicions. He broke down repeatedly. My heart went out to him."

Obi-Wan was silent. He covered his face.

"Ghods. I'm such a fool."

"No" Qui-Gon breathed. "You aren't. We've all been victimized here. I felt manipulated and used. Kay'bee suffers from something he can't control. And you my love, have been hurt by a lie. I am so sorry."

Obi-Wan looked into bottomless blue eyes. "Don't be. I must have been crazy to doubt you so" he stroked the short beard. "Forgive my misunderstanding?"

Qui-Gon leaned into him. "Only if you can forgive my weakness."

Obi-Wan felt a pang. He looked away again, sad.

"What is it, my Obi?" Qui-Gon worried.

"Kay'bee" Obi-Wan said slowly. "I feel so sorry for him. To live with something like that...not being in control of your own mind, despite Jedi training...it must be frightening. Is he going to get help?"

Qui-Gon nodded, putting an arm around him. "Turrell told me his treatments will begin again tomorrow."

"Again? You mean he's been through this before?"

"Yes. There's no cure for his disorder, but the healers monitor him for psychic balance. Turrell promised to keep me aware of his progress."

Obi-Wan smiled then, eyes bright. "I'm glad. He told me once he wasn't my enemy. I didn't believe him."

Gentle smile. "He was right, my love. His madness drove him like a fever. There was no maliciousness on his part."

Obi-Wan leaned into him. "I see that now."

They were silent a bit, holding each other on the sofa. Qui-Gon reached for Obi-Wans' cowl, pulling it away. He thumbed the sensuous lips.

//I would see your face.//

He tilted the fine face up, traced the high cheekbones. Obi-Wan closed his eyes. Lips parted.

/Love you./

Qui-Gon suckled along the smooth neck, nipping gently down the jawline. Obi-Wan gasped as Qui-Gon kissed the hollow of his throat, teasing it with a curling tongue.

Obi-Wan pressed noses. Jade eyes smouldered.

"Bed" long lashes fluttered.

"Yessss" the blue eyes were lidded. "Come." he pulled Obi-Wan up. Sticky lips pulled sweltering kisses as they dragged down the hallway towards the bedroom. They barely made it.

Qui-Gon pressed Obi-Wan into the mattress. "You are wearing too many clothes. Out of them."

Obi-Wan sprawled on his back. "I think not. Do it yourself" he teased.

"Hmm" big hands ran over Obi-Wan, touching and exploring through heavy fabric. One hand slipped beneath the hooded shirt.

"Why, what's this" Qui-Gon smiled, tickling a velvet nipple. It poked up appreciably. Obi-Wan gasped, grabbing the hand.

Another big hand slid inside, pulling the shirt free of a shoulder. Qui-Gon kissed it, sliding his lips across the collarbone.

Obi-Wan squirmed, grimacing in delight. "Oh yes" he breathed, clutching his lover.

Leaning back momentarily, Qui-Gon pulled off his own tunic. Obi-Wan watched in fascination as the powerful chest rippled. He squeezed the thick nipples, sliding a hand down over the bulging groin. A strong hand massaged it firmly.

"Aah" Qui-Gon sighed. "Obi...force, I want you so much" long wisps of hair worked loose, framing the handsome features. Reaching down, he pulled Obi-Wans' pants free. He kissed the golden thighs in appreciation.

"Beautiful, as always" blue eyes darkened with lust.

Obi-Wan blushed. More kisses rained over his legs, easing up over his crotch. Teeth nipped a growing erection under his briefs.

He wiggled, a warm ache tightening his balls. "Qui-Gon, please" the high cheeks flushed with desire. Obi-Wan stroked the lions' head, loosening the braid further.

Qui-Gon sucked over the fabric. Held the balls in his mouth, grinding his teeth back and forth. //Tickles?//

Obi-Wan bounced up. "Yes!!"

More nips, harder this time. Qui-Gon tasted salty wetness.

"Hurry" Obi-Wan arched, rolling his hips. He pulled the braid loose, tangling fingers in the long mane.

Qui-Gon began to sweat. "Yes" he whispered, rolling out of his pants. Obi-Wan pulled him down.

They slid together, groaning and moving a slow love dance on the mattress. Bodies glistening in heat and lust. Silence except for the sounds of damp flesh and sloppy kisses.

Obi-Wan slapped the fine ass as he writhed underneath. "Want you...inside me" he panted, eyes slitted in pleasure.

Qui-Gon eyed him roughly, licked his lips. He sucked another deep kiss, pumping his groin in tightly. Obi-Wan nipped his ear, wrapping muscled legs around the strong hips. Hands pulled at the long hair.

Qui-Gon abruptly sat back on his knees, grabbing the wiggling hips and then plunging inside.

Obi-Wan cried out, reaching up and touching the proud forehead. Qui-Gon closed his eyes as he pumped his lover mercilessly into the bed. Sandy brown hair tumbled around them both, shining and sleek. The broad back rippled in motion.

Obi-Wans' aching cock was squashed as Qui-Gon penetrated him deeply, leaning forward. Slop kissing as they rocked.

"Ghhk...coming..." /I love you!/

Hot tongue whipped against the smooth neck. "Come with me, beloved" the velvet voice panted in his ear. Obi-Wan melted to that voice. He spurted wildly, bucking and clutching.

Qui-Gon yelled out as well, sweet heat spreading over his groin in a winding glow. He fired thickly into his lover, wrenching and thrashing. Two minds danced in light as reality winked away...

They collapsed, shouting each other's name. Dotted light sparked in their eyes.

"Oh" Obi-Wan blinked, weak from pleasure. His padawan braid was plastered between them. "Ghods...feel wonderful."

Soft kisses on his throat. "Mmm" Qui-Gon rumbled. "Perhaps we should fight more, Obi. This making up...is fantastic."

Obi-Wan lay limply as Qui-Gon continued to peck him with kisses.

Long red lashes fanned against the flush cheeks. He sighed softly.

"I'm in heaven, I think."

Qui-Gon smiled slowly, the tangled mane hanging everywhere. Obi-Wan sidled up, wrapping arms around the thick neck.

Lips brushed. "Let's make ourselves a promise, beloved."

Qui-Gon looked at him with lidded eyes. "Anything."

Obi-Wan cradled the lions' head, snuggling back into the cushions. "That we will never doubt our love or commitment to each other."

Teasing tongues tasted each other. "Mnpf. Agreed, love" Qui-Gon murmured, cuddling in close.

Obi-Wan shivered a little as moist skin cooled from the aftermath of loving.

"Wait, I'll get a blanket. You are cold" Qui-Gon slid off the mattress. He returned shortly with a thick blanket and quilt.

"Come here, already" Obi-Wan stretched out, smiling seductively. "You look a little cold yourself."

He watched the powerful body flex next to his. They pulled the blanket and quilt over themselves in a warm cocoon, settling in.

"Force, you feel good" Qui-Gon dropped his head on a golden shoulder.

Obi-Wans' hands were busy under the blankets, massaging the big body.

"OH!" Qui-Gon yelped as a certain part of his anatomy was gripped. He crushed the fine body close to his own.

The blue eyes smouldered. "Keep those hands still, for force sake. How much torture do you think I can stand?"

Obi-Wan pulled a draggy kiss. "Creampuff. Can't take it. Just a softie" he grabbed that part again. One that throbbed in his hand.

"Ghhk. Hot little snekt!"

Obi-Wan laughed softly. "So I've been told."

Obi-Wan came out of the lecture hall with some of the creche.

Yoda save me, they're all over the place like bugs.

And they were. Young force sensitives that had yet to be fully evaluated by the Masters. Most of them were no more than seven.

As it was, they ran madly about. Obi-Wan had spent the better part of the day chasing them. A welcome figure approached him. Obay.

"Obi-Wan. I see you have your hands full."

He grinned. "I'll say. I catch one and three others break off. I'm trying to get them to the library."

"All at once, or one at a time" Obay nodded, smiling as another youngster bolted to have a look at the water fountain.

"Force, here we go again!" Obi-Wan ran after the boy.

"Frenn, get back here! No, don't climb into the fountain!!"

He caught up with the squirming youngster.

"But Obi-Wan, there was a pretty bird on the statue."

"You can see the birds later. Come, we must get to the library" he carried the boy over to the group.

Obay laughed. "Just think, we once gave our Masters the same grief."

They walked the children to the library. "Seems like a million years ago, doesn't it?" Obi-Wan grinned back.

They went inside the main study hall. Obi-Wan heard a familiar voice a few feet away. Kay'bee.

He was displaying visual learning aids for a small group of children. They listened attentively.

Obi-Wan dispersed his group to their assignments. Obay walked at his side.

"Obi. I meant to ask you, what happened with Kay'bee?"

Obi-Wan glanced across the room. "Come over here, I don't want to talk about this in the main hallway."

They went over to an isolated study booth.

Obi-Wan folded his arms over the table. "Kay'bee drugged my Master in an attempt to seduce him. Echru oil."

Obay whistled. "He's looking to get busted! And he must have the morals of a-"

Obi-Wan held up a hand. "Listen, I found out something. Kay'bee suffers from mental illness."

Obay jerked a thumb in Kay'bees' direction. "You sure it's not a dodge, Obi-Wan? So he can avoid culpability?"

"No, it's true. He's struggled with it his whole life. Master Turrell told my Master."

"But if he's dangerous-"

"He receives treatment as needed, apparently. The disease causes him to lose emotional control and judgement."

Obay was quiet a moment. "It...would explain a lot over the past few years. I remember back in the creche we used to call him 'wildeye' because he would cry and his eyes would roll around. Teased him whenever he had those seizures."

"Children can be cruel."

Obay sighed. "Damn. Now I feel badly about it."

"So do I" Obi-Wan looked over again. "But how could we have known?"

"What about the other situation?"

Green eyes flashed. "You mean...about my Master?"

Obay gave him a secret smile. "If that's all he is. Everything straight now?"

Obi-Wan returned the smile. "Are you insinuating that anything is unusual or not back to normal?" he hinted.

A grin. Obay stood, clapping his shoulder. "I'll see you later. Careful you don't get burned, okay?"

Obi-Wan nodded brightly. "I will. Thanks."

Kay'bee had finished his class. He picked up his audio disks and prepared to leave...

....when Obi-Wan interrupted him. "Hello, Kay'bee."

He looked up. "Wha...Obi-Wan? What do you want?"

"Just a minute of your time" he sat in front of him.

Kay'bee frowned, expression closed. "Why? You have it all. Everything I could have had. Now leave me in peace."

Obi-Wan sighed. "You don't understand, Kay'bee. I'm not here to fight. I wanted to apologize."

Amber eyes narrowed in suspicion. "What is this? You expect me to give you the tape back?"

Obi-Wan felt a stab of anger. "I don't care about-!" he caught himself. "Listen, okay? I'm sorry about the whole situation regarding the party. I knew you wanted my Master, but I didn't know you were so desperate to have him."

Kay'bee looked away a moment. "I would have done anything" he murmured softly. His gaze sharpened on Obi-Wan again.

"Wait a minute. Why are you sorry?"

"Because...because I didn't know the situation before. If I had..."

The amber eyes were hard. "So you pity me, is that it? Spare me! I'm not interested. And don't feel that you're easing your conscience by doing this, either."

Is he being treated now? "I know it seems like pity, but it isn't. Can't I feel compassion for a fellow padawan I grew up with? One that has a demon he can't fight alone?"

Conflicting emotions raced across the handsome features. "Please, Obi-Wan" he whispered, clearly in pain. "Leave me alone."

To his stunned amazement, Obi-Wan squeezed his hand. "I can't. I feel guilty. So sue me."

The gold eyes went wide. "You...feel guilty?"

Quiet smile. The jade eyes were warm. "A wise man once told me we weren't enemies. At the time I didn't want to believe him."

Kay'bee smiled a little. "Well..."

"What are you doing now? Any plans for the rest of the day?"

"No...Nothing special."

"Would you like to see Galazia Dancers with me? I understand it's playing downtown this week. Besides, I need to go with a good drama critic."

"Do you mean this, Obi-Wan?" Kay'bee was hopeful.

Obi-Wan extended his fingertips. Kay'bee touched them. He smiled wider.

"I'll go if you answer one question for me."

Obi-Wan was curious. "What is it?"

Gold eyes darkened. "Are...you happy? I need to know."

Obi-Wan sighed. "Yes, Kay'bee. We were meant to be."

"Then, if you swear to me you will care for him always..."

Obi-Wan made a sign against his heart. "I swear it, Kay'bee."

Kay'bee stood. "Well then, what are we waiting for? If we leave now we can at least get a good meal first. Maybe the Bistro?"

Obi-Wan stood also. "Sounds good to me. Shall we?"
